Various Impacts of Evolving Generative AI
This paper summarizes trends in generative AI, which learns from large amounts of data and understands various patterns to generate many different contents such as text, images, and voice, and discusses its phenomenal progress, the impact it has had on the world, and the inevitable calls for change. Reflections from an Online Interdisciplinary Critical Friends Group
application/pdfTeaching in the twenty-first century is a complex, multifaceted endeavor that requires flexibility, adaptability, and continuous learning. Nowadays, a growing number of teachers are turning to digitally enhanced communities of practice to alleviate occupational isolationism, receive emotional support, and develop their professional skills. This qualitative case study highlights the experiences of three educators who are members of an online interdisciplinary critical friends group (CFG). The results indicated that the participants perceived critical friendships to be a powerful site of teacher directed professional development that enhanced their critical reflective competencies and pedagogical practices. At the other end of the learning continuum, the participants also identified significant obstacles such as a lack of trust, problematic group dynamics (e.g., free riding), and scheduling conflicts that can undermine the social cohesion within a CFG.論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape
Syntactic Distribution of dare and shei indicating Indefiniteness
application/pdfBoth Japanese and Chinese interrogative pronouns have meanings and usages indicating indefiniteness. However, the corresponding and non-corresponding relationships between the two have not been clearly established in previous research. The purpose of this study is to clarify the indefinite expression of the Japanese word dare and the overall situation of its corresponding Chinese indefinite expressions, through observations of cases to determine corresponding and non-corresponding relationships. The results of the comparative analysis show that in Japanese, the meaning and function of expressing an unspecified person are carried out by dare. Whereas in Chinese, when expressing an unspecified person, besides the interrogative pronoun dare it is also found that sometimes reliance on context or interaction between elements is necessary.論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape
