Retaining of Languages in History and Succession of languages：Focused on Koshiki Islands

After UNESCO reported endangered languages in Japan, people became more aware of their own dialects. A Pragmatic Study on Request Expressions in Chinese
Full text linkapplication/pdfBy referencing three different scenes of face-threatening in Politeness Theory (Brown & Levinson, 1978), this study collects linguistic data related with friends (CN1) and senior students (CN2) from Chinese native speakers at Dalian University of Foreign Languages and analyzed them from the erspective of pragmatics. The results show that the politeness strategies of the requester in CN1 and CN2 are different from each other. When talking with seniors, requesters tend to use “courtesy” and thanks,” but when with friends, they usually do not use “thanks” and often use negative politeness strategies. With the increase of the difficulty of the request scenario, the differences between CN1 and CN2 are reduced. Furthermore, before the request behavior, the requester’s language preparation for “pleasantries,” “consideration,” and “pre-topic insertion” does not increase, but still focuses on “situation description,” “request,” and “auxiliary behavior.”論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape
Syntactic Distribution of Japanese “dare+mo” Interacting with Affirmative Forms
Full text linkapplication/pdfIn modern Japanese, the form “dare+mo” is usually used in conjunction with the negative form of a predicate to deny human actions, behaviors and status. However, under some semantic conditions, this form can be used with the positive form of a predicate to affirm human actions, behaviors and status. This paper divides the syntactic distribution comprising the collocation of “dare+mo” and affirmative predicate into two groups, namely the “typical” and “non typical.” Furthermore, the researcher elaborates and discusses these two types of divisions by introducing a theoretical framework of co-occurrence restrictions. This paper aims to clarify the syntactic distributions of “dare+mo” when interacting with the affirmative form so as to establish the grammatical norms for the acquisition of a second or additional language.論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape

Full text linkapplication/pdf本稿は、現在世界を席巻し、多方面に大きな衝撃を与えつつ、急速にその利活用が広まっている生成AIについて、その概況を記した。文明の利器として長短合わせ持つ生成AIは、目下黎明期にあるが、その影響があまりに大きいことから、様々な所でその功罪が熱い議論の対象となっている。新しい技術時代を牽引する生成AIは、一部で既に人類知の凌駕を実現しており、各界に激震や淘汰のリスクを不可避とし、種々のインパクトを与えて変調を促し始めていることを記した。This paper has described the general situation of generative AI, which is currently sweeping the world, giving a great impact to many fields, and rapidly expanding its utilization. Generative AI, which has both strengths and weaknesses as a tool of civilization, is currently in its infancy, but its merits and demerits have become the subject of hot debate in various places because of its enormous impact. The Influence of Voluntary Adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards on the Value Relevance
Full text linkapplication/pdfThe results reveal that the voluntary adoption of IFRS led to substantial enhancement in the value relevance. Regression analysis using CRE (correlated random effect) approach was conducted to elucidate whether the increased value relevance was due to the within-effect or between-effect.
When examining the ex post value relevance metric, it was found that the adoption of IFRS lead to a decrease in R2_within and an increase in R2_between. This suggests that IFRS has higher transparency to ompose investment portfolio compared to Japanese accounting standards.
The analysis of the ex ante value relevance metric indicates that the adoption of IFRS leads to decrease in both R2_within and R2_between in the case of good news, while in the case of bad news, it results in an increase in R2_within and a decrease in R2_between. This suggests that even if there is negative news present within a firm that temporarily deviates from the average, losses are recognized immediately and appropriately reflected in the financial statements.論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape
