The Nashua River, whose name derives from an Algonkian word meaning beautiful river with a pebbly bottom, is a 37.5-mile-long river situated within the Merrimack River Basin (Hydrologic Unit Code 01070004), spanning an area of 1,360 square kilometers.https://scholarworks.merrimack.edu/rcac_2025_posters/1099/thumbnail.jp

    Cochichewick River Analysis

    Get PDF
This project focuses on the hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of the Cochichewick River using the Storm Water Management Model (SWMM). The objective is to analyze the river’s response to various rainfall events, assess flow patterns, and evaluate potential flood risks. By developing a SWMM model, the study aims to simulate surface runoff, channel flow, and the impact of land use changes on watershed hydrodynamics. The model will incorporate key hydrological inputs, including precipitation, infiltration, and surface characteristics, to generate accurate flow predictions. Calibration and validation will be performed using historical flow data to ensure model accuracy. The results will help identify potential areas of concern, such as flooding hotspots or capacity limitations within the watershed. The findings from this study can aid in improving stormwater management strategies, supporting local water resource planning, and enhancing resilience against extreme weather events. This research provides a foundation for future studies on river restoration, climate change adaptation, and watershed sustainability.https://scholarworks.merrimack.edu/rcac_2025_posters/1100/thumbnail.jp

Fatigue Management Using Catapult and More Budget Friendly and Practical Alternatives

    Get PDF
In the ever-growing world of technology, player-tracking devices, like catapult, are starting to become more prevalent in both professional and college athletics. It is the aim of my capstone is to educate how catapult technology is used, plus the metrics that can be observed to effectively track the workload of athletes during their practices and games, ensuring that they aren’t being over/under worked in preparation for their competitions. In addition to this, I look to educate the more budget friendly and also reliable alternatives that can replicate the intricacies of catapult, which can also be implemented with a sports team or individual, to effectively track their workload and progress to make sure they are always performing at their full potential.https://scholarworks.merrimack.edu/rcac_2025_posters/1133/thumbnail.jp
