Preparing Bridgewell For Residential State Licensing: Bridgewell Of Peabody
Preparing Health and Human Service organizations for State Licensing is a rigorous and extremely important process. For the Residential Program at Bridgewell of Peabody, MA, data from various client portals, including the eHana database and the Virtual Gateway database, was compiled, sorted, summarized and graphed for preparation of the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Residential State Licensing and October 2021 Audit. With this information, the Residential Program at Bridgewell was then able to be better informed to make necessary adjustments to improve the efficiency and performance of the organization and is more prepared for the DDS Residential State Licensing and October 2021 Audit

"Cost Accounting" Student Work (Images from Presentation Slides)
Samples of student work from "Cost Accounting," a Spring 2021 undergraduate Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) course taught by Zlatinka Blaber (Accounting and Finance) at Salem State University. The SSU course collaborated with a course taught at Bahauddin Zakariya University in Multan, Pakistan. There were 23 students in the SSU course and 25 students in the partner course Digital tools used in collaborative work included Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Tableau Desktop and Microsoft Power BI. Images are slides from student presentation materials.ACC 306: Cost AccountingThis course will introduce the concept and characteristics of cost with specific emphasis on decision-making situations that require accounting data. This course discusses the application of costs to process, job order and standard cost accounting systems. Concepts such as activity-based costing, just-in-time inventory systems and material requirements planning are also covered. Three lecture hours per week. Required of Business Administration majors in Accounting concentration. Prerequisite: ACC202
Adult Rheumatoid Arthritis: Evaluating Treatment Effectiveness Among Patients
In the real world, how medications are prescribed and taken by patients differs from a patient enrolled in clinical trials. For example, medications may be given to patients with disease severity ranging from mild to very severe, who have comorbidities, and who have variable adherence to the treatment regimen. After a drug is licensed and on the market, comparative effectiveness studies are conducted with real world data to assure that the drugs remain effective when used by real world patients. CorEvitas conducts comparative effectiveness research among cohorts of patients enrolled in the Rheumatoid Arthritis Registry. This poster presents the design of an observational cohort study, including study protocols
Betting Just Got Easier: The Power Of Machine Learning And Making Predictions
There comes a time in your life when you have endeavored to place a wager, whether minuscule or astronomically immense the goal is to victoriously triumph. What if you knew the chances of you winning? In this project, I analyzed The Big Five European soccer leagues data where I predict the probability of what team will win using various machine learning techniques while answering questions to maximize the accuracy of my prediction. The project drives away from the rigorous concepts of numbers, with a visual representation of the analytics. This breaks away from the extensive data into a more conceptualized aspect of betting. Many Bettors bet based on favorites, is that a valid way to place a bet? The first phase of this project is creating a descriptive analysis for understanding the data, the second phase is diving into support vector machines, random forest, and Xgboost to organize data elements and standardize how the data elements relate to one another to answer questions pertaining to wager making. I will make use of PySpark to show distinction between supervised learning models. The complex components will follow a sequential design metric to understand correctly how to maximize your bet. The results will consist of a prototype web application with a descriptive analysis of my findings, this includes betting prediction on my data. Users will get a deep understanding on why the results presented as they did.Computer Scienc
The Client's Perceived Value on Occupational Therapy Interventions in Skilled Nursing Facilities
Skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) provide medical care from short to long term care (AOTA, 2015). Occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) aim to implement occupation-centered interventions in SNFs (Jewell, et al., 2016). However, according to Reynolds, et al (2019) OTPs experience barriers that impact using occupation-centered practice in SNFs. As a result, occupational therapy (OT) interventions lack relation to occupation and when this occurs it is suggested that the OT profession surrenders distinct value to the clients served (Lamb, 2017). The goal of this research is to investigate how the clients perceive the value of OT interventions in SNFs. Data will be collected using an exploratory, quantitative research design. Clients in short-term rehabilitation will be recruited using informative flyers. Participants will voluntarily complete a paper-based survey to provide subjective impressions on the OT services received. This study hopes to provide evidence to support a gap within the literature regarding the clients’ perceptions of OT interventions in SNFs
