Kata kunci: Etika, Levinas, Tanggung Jawab, Wajah Abstract This article is about Ethics according to Emanuel Levinas. The placement of the 'Other' as the transcendent one before which the I encounter the infinite and is held hostage to it is a very important contribution to philosophy and ethics. Based on face-to-face encounters, ethics must be translated further in the practical realm. Levinas himself did not say that in daily life, people should always put others first. It simply shows the fact that in the face encounters we have in our daily lives, we encounter a transcendent face for whom we are existentially responsible. Finally, about this state life, more specifically, Levinas emphasized that in the life of the state, justice must be fought. This justice is justice based on love. This love is a love that has a responsibility not limited to others, an asymmetrical love. Keywords: Ethics, Levinas, Responsibility, Fac
UTILIZATION OF ANGIOTENSIN-CONVERTING ENZYME INHIBITORS AND ANGIOTENSIN RECEPTOR BLOCKERS FOR GLAUCOMA
Glaucoma is a crucial ocular health issue that warrants meticulous attention according to its status as the leading cause of irreversible visual impairment on a global scale. The incidence of this illness has been on a steady rise, notably within the Asian region. Blood pressure impacts both intraocular pressure (IOP) and ocular perfusion pressure (OPP), which is the pressure responsible for facilitating blood flow to the eyeball. Hypertension is considered a contributing factor in the development of glaucoma. The Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAAS) plays a crucial role in the pathophysiology of hypertension and also contributes to the pathogenesis of glaucoma. The presence of Renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) inhibitors medications, such as angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE-I) and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB) have demonstrated efficacy in reducing intraocular pressure (IOP) and reducing ganglion cell apoptosis. Consequently, these pharmacological agents present a viable therapeutic approach to patients afflicted with hypertension and glaucoma
ARE PROBIOTICS HELPFUL FOR ALLERGIES?
Abstracts: A hypersensitive reaction brought on by the body's immune system reacting to a particular antigen is called an allergy. Over the past few decades, allergy illness prevalence has significantly increased, particularly in Western countries. According to the hygiene hypothesis, a child's vulnerability to allergies may rise if they have less early exposure to microorganisms and/or parasites. Efforts to balance immune function using probiotics have been driven by the important function that the microbiota plays in the interaction between the human immune system and its environment. Research on the advantages of using probiotics to prevent or lessen allergy symptoms has significantly increased in the last few years. This paper discusses the safety of using probiotics as well as their potential to prevent or lessen allergy illnesses
DIFFERENCES IN SEBORRHOEIC DERMATITIS AREA SEVERITY INDEX IN IMMUNOCOMPROMISED AND NON IMMUNOCOMPROMISED PATIENTS
Background: Seborrhoeic Dermatitis (DS) is a papulosquamous skin disorder with a predilection for areas rich in sebaceous glands, scalp, face and body. Seborrheic dermatitis in immunocompromised patients is clinically different from non-immunocompromised seborrheic dermatitis patients. Seborrheic dermatitis is one of the clinical symptoms and is most often found in immunocompromised patients such as individuals who have HIV/AIDS compared to seborrheic dermatitis patients in general. Objective: To determine the difference in seborrhoeic dermatitis area severity index in immunocompromised and non-immunocompromised patients.Method: This research design uses analytical observational with a cross sectional approach. The population of seborrheic dermatitis patients was 70 people with 35 immunocompromised patient respondents and 35 non-immunocompromised respondents. Data collection starts from September 22 to October 26 2023. Seborrheic dermatitis examination is carried out on the face and scalp by comparing the area affected by seborrheic dermatitis with the surrounding area and then assessing the degree of the area affected by seborrheic dermatitis using SDASI. The assessment of the area of the lesion is multiplied by the sum of the erythema, scale and papule scores with a severity classification, namely: Mild: 0-7.9, Moderate: 8-15.9, Severe: >16. The results of the examination will be recorded and a score for the severity of seborrheic dermatitis on the face and scalp will be calculated. Results: Seborrhoeic dermatitis in 35 immunocompromised respondents and 35 non-immunocompromised respondents. The results obtained from the seborrheic dermatitis patient group were immunocompromised patients, namely 14 respondents with mild degrees (40.0%), 17 respondents with moderate degrees (48.6%), and four respondents with severe degrees (11.4%) while in the group of non-immunocompromised patients there were 20 respondents with mild degrees. (57.1%), 11 respondents had a moderate degree (31.4%), and four respondents had a mild degree (11.4%). The results of research analysis using the independent T-test showed that there was a difference in SDASI in immunocompromised and non-immunocompromised patients with a value of p = 0.040 (p < 0.05).Conclusion: there are differences in SDASI in immunocompromised and non-immunocompromised patients
THE CORELATION OF THE QUALITY OF ANTENATAL CARE VISITS WITH THE INCIDENT OF ASPHYXIA NEONATORUM AT PHC HOSPITAL SURABAYA
Background: Birth asphyxia is the one of the very common problem in neonatal health care. Its incidence is very high in the developing country where health facilities are restricted to urban area, and these factors can be prevented through standard Antenatal Care (ANC) visits. ANC is medical care provided by healthcare professionals to mothers during pregnancy, administered by medical personnel and conducted according to established standards. This ANC monitors the health and development of both the mother and the fetus for early detection of risks and health issues during pregnancy. Objective: To determine the relationship between the quality of ANC visits and the occurrence of Asphyxia Neonatorum at PHC Hospital Surabaya.Method: This research is an observational analytic study with a case-control study design, employing a retrospective approach. The sampling in the study utilized probability sampling, specifically employing the simple random sampling technique. The statistical method used to examine the relationship between the quality of ANC visits and Asphyxia (APGAR Score ≤3-6) through the analysis of odds ratio comparison using the Chi-square statistical test.Result: The statistical analysis of the relationship between the quality of ANC visits and the occurrence of Asphyxia shows significant results with a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05).Conclusion: The compliance of pregnant women in adhering to standard ANC visits ensures the health of both the mother and the baby during pregnancy
RELATIONSHIP BLOOD TRIGLYCERIDE LEVELS WITH ACNE VULGARIS IN YOUNG ADULTS
Introduction: Acne vulgaris (AV) is a chronic inflammation of the pilosebaceous follicles. The four main pathologies underlying the occurrence of acne vulgaris are follicular epidermal hyperproliferation, increased sebum production, colonization of Propionibacterium acnes and inflammatory processes. Triglycerides are a component of sebum which plays an important role in the inflammatory process. Objective: to determine the relationship between triglyceride levels in the blood and acne vulgaris in young adults.Method : this research is analytic. The research design used was cross sectional. The population of this study were all patients who came to the clinic. The sample in this study used an accidental sampling technique. Results: The study showed that the characteristics of the respondents based on the Chi-Square test for the relationship between triglyceride levels and the incidence of Acne vulgaris showed that there was a statistically significant relationship between triglyceride levels and the incidence of Acne vulgaris. Conclusion: There is a relationship between triglyceride levels in the blood and the incidence of acne vulgaris in young adults
CORRELATION OF ACADEMIC STRESS WITH OLIGOMENORRHEA IN FEMALE MEDICAL STUDENTS
Introduction: Oligomenorrhea is defined as an irregular menstrual cycle of more than 35 days or only experiencing 4 to 9 menstrual cycles in a year. According to research involving 12,964 women of childbearing age in China, it was found that 1,579 women (12.2%) experienced oligomenorrhea. Risk factors for oligomenorrhea are poor nutritional status, namely BMI < 18.5 or ≥ 25, excessive physical activity, high levels of stress (around 20%), and late age at menarche. THE EFFECT OF SUBMAXIMAL EXERCISE ON THE ATTENTION OF HEALTHY ADULTS
Introduction. Submaximal exercise uses intensity below 85% of the predicted maximum pulse for age. One example of a submaximal exercise is the Three-minutes step test (TMST) which is practical, easy to implement in the subject's routine, and has clear measurement standards. After TMST is done, VO2max can be calculated which is the main indicator used to determine cardiorespiratory capacity. There have been no studies evaluating the effect of submaximal exercise and VO2max on domain attention in healthy adults.Aim. This study aim to evaluate effect submaximal exercise on the attention of healty adults.Material and method. Using a controlled before-and-after study, sixty healthy adults, aged 25-40 years, were divided into control and intervention groups (TMST). Attention function was measured with SDMT (Symbol Digit Modalities Test) before and after TMST or 3 minutes rest.Result. There was a significant difference in the intervention and control groups (p values <0.001 and 0.0029). The values of SDMT in the intervention group with the control group were significant with the p-value is <0.0001. The effect of the TMST intervention on SDMT was significant, with p values <0.0001.Conclusion. Submaximal exercise can improve attention function in healthy adults

MENDORONG KETERLIBATAN AKTIF KAUM MUDA KATOLIK DALAM BERORGANISASI
Catholics youth are the candles of hope and the future sustainability of the Catholic Church. Young people possess enthusiasm and creativity, but this needs to be accompanied by idealism for the progress and development of the Church. Young people are called to participate in the mission of building a better world through the tasks of the Church. However, in practice, many young people are found to prioritize their personal ego without concern for the future of the Church. Therefore, through this activity, it is hoped that young people will become aware of community life, fostering a sense of care that ultimately impacts a better social life. Activities for young people facilitated by the Catholics Youth Organization (OMK) serve as a means to express their faith while also training their leadership, solidarity, and responsibility. Therefore, young people need to be increasingly encouraged to actively engage in non-liturgical church activities
