Innovation of Artistic and Cultural Education Based on Local Cooperation: Legacy of the “French Capital of Culture” Resulting from Municipal Cultural Policy
The “French Capital of Culture” launched in 2022, is a year-round festival modeled after the EU’s “European Capital of Culture”. The main purpose of this new designation granted by the central government is to promote the continuous development of the cultural policy of a selected medium-sized city. The municipality of Villeurbanne, the first host city, believes that the festival’s greatest legacy is “the innovation of artistic and cultural education in public schools”.
This study focuses on the “Minimix,” a unique coordination system established by the municipality during the French Capital of Culture, and describes the basic principles and structure of artistic and cultural education currently implemented in public primary education in Villeurbanne.
The foundation of artistic and cultural education based on local cooperation is the accumulation of characteristic cultural institutions as well as the various activities of artists formed by local cultural policies of the past. The creation of “Minimix” has made cooperation between different local actors more substantial. The city’s artistic and cultural education, based on the principle of cultural rights, offers a variety of programs which aim to foster children’s ability to make their own choices and form their own lives.departmental bulletin pape
Identifying Factors Affecting the Psychological Safety of Nursing Assistants in Acute Care Hospitals
Objective: To assess the psychological safety of nursing assistants in an acute-care hospital and to identify the factors that influence their psychological safety.
Methods: This study employs a mixed-methods approach, conducting a self-administered questionnaire survey with 705 ward nurses and 94 nursing assistants from a single institution. The survey covered “Basic Attributes” of nurses and nursing assistants, their “Recognition of the Role of Nursing Assistants,” their “Psychological Safety and Organizational Commitment,” and the “Leadership Displayed by Nurses.” The data were analyzed using Spearman’s correlation and structural equation modeling. Additionally, a qualitative inductive analysis was performed through focus group interviews involving seven nursing assistants and seven nurses.
Results: Results from the structural equation modeling emphasized that the emergence of the factors influencing the psychological safety of nursing assistants is the “Leadership Aimed at Enhancing Teamwork” exhibited by nurses. The qualitative analysis produced six conceptual categories from the nursing assistants and nine from the nurses.
Discussion: The results suggest that enhancing the psychological safety of nursing assistants presents multiple challenges. These include fostering an environment where nursing assistants feel at ease, bridging the understanding gap between nurses and nursing assistants regarding their roles, and mitigating the conflicts that nursing assistants encounter.departmental bulletin pape
The Composition of the Chōka Poem in the First Volume of the Kagero Nikki —Between Michitsuna’s Mother and Empress Chen
The chōka poem found in the first volume of the Kagero Nikki is considered crucial source material for the composition of the diary. Conversely, the deliberate act of the diary’s author, Michitsuna’s mother, in composing and exchanging the chōka poem —despite the genre’s waning popularity since the Kokin period— and documenting it in the diary is significant. This study ex amines the possibility that the Chinese story of Empress Chen’s attempt to regain her husband’s love through the power of the long poem “Changmen Fu” may have triggered the composition of the choka by Michitsuna’s mother, who was from the literati class and probably knew the story. Moreover, it is considered that the practice of appealing to innermost feelings in the long poem may have also led to the composition of the diary.articl
