Social housing and right to the city ::experiences of Inhabitants and social workers in Mumbai and Geneva
The question of housing in various economies and contexts reveals itself through complex policies and practices.
The inability to access dignified housing means compromising the ‘right to the city’. The article explores the complex urban challenges of housing and social inclusion in Mumbai and Geneva. It examines how urbanization, driven by neoliberal policies, often exacerbates socio-economic inequalities, depriving marginalized communities’ right to the city. The article highlights social housing as a critical element for inclusive urban spaces, where access to adequate housing represents participation in public life. In Mumbai, resettlement colonies reveal how the urban
poor face displacement and disrupted social networks due to resettlement to a peripheral place. In contrast, despite being well-intentioned, Geneva’s social housing policies struggle to meet demand, with rising exclusions due to aporophobia and housing shortages. However, social workers and NGOs are pivotal in advocating for inhabitants’ rights and facilitating community cohesion in both cities. To understand the current urban development issues, the article focuses on the points of view and practices of social workers, inhabitants, and communities in the construction of ‘living together’ within the new neighbourhoods. The analysis underscores that the vision of an inclusive, just city remains elusive without equitable housing policies

Performance-based capacity allocation of DERs to improve aggregated flexibility provision
Importance of aggregating distributed energy resources (DERs) capacity to procure high-performance frequency regulation services ensuring adequate flexibility for renewable-rich power systems is increasing. Meanwhile, disregarding response performance variety arising from different technical characteristics and inherent uncertainties of DERs managed by an aggregator adversely impacts aggregated response (AR) from three viewpoints: technical feasibility of AR delivery, economic profit-making and fairness of capacity allocation. To tackle these challenges, this paper introduces a new probabilistic flexibility response index (FRI) to integrally evaluate DERs’ performance considering four factors: structure, control, communication, aggregation and uncertainties and interactions of these factors. Also, a multi-objective stochastic bidding strategy framework in the day-ahead energy and regulation markets is developed, in which the DERs capacity allocation is devised using the evaluation of their FRIs as the second objective. This framework lies within a mixed-integer linear programming model, considering uncertainties of resources, communication systems, AR, and market prices. The multi-objective structure of problem is handled through augmented ε -constraint and Fuzzy decision-making approaches. To validate the efficiency, scalability, and generality of the developed framework, it is implemented on three aggregators of different numbers and types of DERs participating in the ERCOT market context. The results show fundamental improvements regarding three viewpoints

Despite the frequency and societal impact of common low back pain, its exact pathophysiology remains poorly understood and the subject of much debate. A review of the literature shows the coexis¬tence of three main models, none of which seems to withstand detailed analysis of the currently available data. This article describes the basis of an emerging model called “dysfunctional” (or “non-lesional” in the Anglo-Saxon literature), which considers spinal neuromuscular dysfunction as the main biological basis to be integrated into the biopsychosocial paradigm. By emphasizing the complex interplay of these different dimensions, this model opens up promising therapeutic prospects, fostering patient confidence and the adoption of long-term beneficial behaviors
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Switzerland adopted a strongly recommended but non-mandatory vaccination policy, respecting self-determination. Healthcare professionals (HCPs) were among the first to receive the vaccine. This literature review highlighted individual (gender, age, vaccination history, risk perception, social norms, and moral convictions) and contextual factors (trust in the government, recommendations from other HCPs, and media information) influencing HCPs' vaccination decisions in Switzerland. Understanding these factors offers opportunities to tailor vaccination measures during health crises
