RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EXTERNAL LOAD AND DIFFERENCES IN COUNTERMOVEMENT JUMP IN AN OFFICIAL MATCH OF PROFESSIONAL FEMALE SOCCER PLAYERS.
The purpose of the present study was to correlate the external load of an official soccer match with the percent change in the countermovement jump variables in professional soccer players and to analyze the differences between moments (pre, immediately post and 24 hours post-match). The main findings were the correlations between the percentage of change in the CMJ variables and the external load very strong between JH1 with ACC4; JH2 with D23, HSR, ACC1 and DCC2; JT1 with ACC4; PP1 with ACC3; RFDB1 with ACC4; RPD1 and RPD2 with D7. On the other hand, differences were found in PF between pre and post, in PP between post and 24h, RFDB between pre and post. Through our results we conclude that the change in the vertical jump with countermovement is correlated with the external load performed during a match in professional players, so that the assessment of the mechanical variables of the jump on force platforms is a practical option to assess fatigue after a soccer match. An individual analysis is also necessary to know the intra-player differences because the group analysis is influenced by the external load
VALIDATION OF A COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE STRAIN GAUGE AGAINST A SERIES OF KNOWN LOADS USING A SHORT TIME APPROACH
The purpose of this study was to identify the content validity and accuracy of a commercially available strain gauge (GSTRENGTH (Exsurgo Technologies, Virginia, USA), aimed at use within athletic populations. Six standardised IWF (International Weightlifting Federation) calibrated weights (5-, 25-, 50-, 100-, 200-, 250-kg) were hung from the strain gauge and raw data was collected over a five-second period and exported to a computer. A perfect relationship between the known loads and the strain gauge (r = 1.00, p\u3c0.001) was identified, although the strain gauge was found to have a small overestimation error with no fixed or proportional bias. During data collection there were non-significant, trivial-small differences between the first and last second, demonstrating minimal drift. The commercially available strain gauge was found to be valid when compared to the known loads. Further investigation of the strain gauge is required to assess the concurrent validity when compared to gold standard methods of assessment, such as force plates, in a range of test designs
IS FRONTAL PLANE PROJECTION ANGLE RELATED TO STIFF LANDING PATTERNS? AN ANALYSIS OF DROP JUMP AND TUCK JUMP TASKS
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between frontal plane knee projection angle (FPPA) and sagittal (hip and knee flexion) plane landing kinematic measures during a drop jump (DVJ) and a tuck jump assessment (TJA) test in male youth football players. Eighty-one post-pubertal male footballers were recorded performing DVJ and TJA tasks, and FPPA as well as hip (HF) and knee (KF) flexion angles at peak flexion were retrospectively assessed. The main results show that players with greater knee FPPA (valgus) display lower HF values than players with no knee valgus alignment during DVJ landings, but not during TJA. A DVJ pattern which exhibits knee valgus and limited HF angles may increase the risk of knee injury and thus, strategies for hip strengthening and technique modification should be applied to players with this mechanical profile
EFFECTS OF SHOD AND BAREFOOT CONDITIONS ON MEDIAL LONGITUDINAL ARCH ANGLE DURING RUNNING
The structure of the medial longitudinal arch (MLA) affects the spring-like function of the foot and is crucial to running performance. The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in the MLA angle between barefoot and shod conditions by using a high-speed dual fluoroscopic imaging system (DFIS). Computed tomography was taken of each participant’s right foot for the construction of 3D models and local coordinate systems. Fifteen participants ran with or without running shoes at 3 m/s±5% speed. We recorded foot kinematics using DFIS. After the process of 3D-2D registration, MLA angles were calculated. Compared to barefoot, wearing shoes 1) decreased the initial landing MLA angle, maximum MLA angle and range of motion of the MLA angle (p \u3c 0.05); 2) decreased the MLA angles during 0%-70% of the stance phase (p \u3c 0.05). It suggests that shoes limit the MLA compression and recoil and its spring-like function

EFFECTS OF FOUR WEEKS OF HIGH-DEFINITION TRANSCRANIAL DIRECT CURRENT STIMULATION AND FOOT CORE EXERCISE ON FOOT SENSORIMOTOR FUNCTION
Objective: This study aimed to examine the effects of four weeks of high-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) and foot core exercise (FCE) on the foot sensorimotor function (i.e., toe flexor strength and passive ankle kinesthesia). Methods: Thirty-six participants were randomly assigned into three groups: HD-tDCS, FCE, and control group. A total of 12 training sessions was performed over 4 weeks (i.e., three sessions per week) in the laboratory. The participants in the HD-tDCS group performed HD-tDCS and the FCE group completed short foot exercise, towel curls, toe spread and squeeze, and balance board training. Foot muscle strength and passive ankle kinesthesia were assessed at baseline and post-intervention. Results: Compared with the control group, HD-tDCS induced a greater decrease in percent change in the passive kinesthesia thresholds of dorsiflexion ( 9.32%), inversion ( 25.15%), and eversion ( 21.46%). A significantly higher increase in percent change in metatarsophalangeal joint flexor strength was existed in HD-tDCS group (13.77%) and a significantly greater increase in percent change in toe flexor strength was observed in the FCE group (13.13%). Conclusion: Four weeks of high-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) can improve foot sensorimotor function and foot core exercise can only strengthen toe flexor muscles
Effects of Education on Correcting Misconceptions and Acceptance of the Influenza Vaccination Among a College Campus
Educating patients on the influenza vaccination is an important goal for health care providers. It fosters a working relationship between provider and patient and allows patients to make an informed decision on their health care needs. The percentage of individuals who receive the influenza vaccine in the United States has been consistently below goals set by the committee for Healthy People 2020. This DNP scholarly project aimed to determine whether the introduction of education was effective at increasing individuals’ choice to vaccinate against the influenza virus among college campus students. The study was a non-experimental, non-randomized control trial that utilized a simple random sample of students attending a Midwestern college. The theoretical framework utilized for this scholarly project is Pender’s health promotion model. A modified version of the College Student’s Perception of Influenza Vaccine and Childhood Immunizations survey was used utilizing a Likert scale which assessed responses to 22 questions before and after viewing an educational video created by this researcher. After the data was collected, a t-test and logistic regression were used to compare differences in the distribution of responses, and p values were used to determine the statistical significance while comparing the participants’ answers before and after education and vaccination status. The study found statistical significance to indicate that educational intervention improved participants’ knowledge/understanding surrounding the influenza vaccine and childhood vaccinations
Teaching Perspective Taking Skills to Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often lack perspective taking skills as evidenced by deficits in social communication and social interaction. The PEAK-T program Deictic: Single-Reversal I and You has previously been utilized to teach and establish singular I-YOU perspective taking repertoires in children with ASD, however no such studies exist for teaching plural WE-THEY perspective taking repertoires. The present study replicated the methods from a previous study (Belisle et al., 2016) to establish simple and single-reversal I-YOU deictic relations, and extended the evaluation to establish simple and single-reversal WE-THEY deictic relations. Of the four participants in this study, one participant was able to demonstrate single-reversal I-YOU and WE-THEY deictic relations. Additionally, this participant was able to demonstrate a transfer of function of these deictic relations to a novel stimulus set. Three of the four participants were unable to demonstrate mastery criteria for both I-YOU and WE-THEY single-reversal deictic relations, even after exposure to mixed training. These results indicate that some children with ASD could benefit from deictic relational training instruction through transfer of functions from I-YOU relations to WE-THEY relations, but others may require additional training and/or prerequisite skills

INTERROGATING RACISM: AN ARTS-BASED SELF-STUDY OF THE INTERACTIONS OF ONE WHITE TEACHER EDUCATOR IN A RURAL TEACHER PREPARATION PROGRAM
This arts-based self-study examined racism, whiteness, and white supremacy in the practices of one teacher educator in a rural, Midwestern university. Data was generated using arts-based methods. Narrative inquiry and critical incident technique (CIT) were utilized to analyze data. Through arts-based self-study techniques, I demonstrate how arts-based self-study can create diverse and multimodal access to understand identity construction and the effort to dismantle racism and other systemic barriers in the teacher education context. Furthermore, through multimodal arts-based data collection, I demonstrate the possibility for educators to navigate complex memory and emotional processing to develop more complex, nuanced understandings of antiracist identity through an intersectional lens. Finally, through the use of CIT and narrative analysis, I demonstrate how studying an “extreme” event in the research spring boarded me into a more complex and nuanced understanding of abolition, racism, and ABAR teaching in the teaching and learning event
