CONSTRUÇÕES IDENTITÁRIAS NO SERTÃO SANFRANCISCANO
Get PDFAo longo das últimas décadas diferentes agrupamentos sociais do Norte de Minas Gerais vêm se organizando politicamente, reivindicando o pertencimento à sistemas identários próprios. Tratam-se de grupos indígenas, quilombolas, geraizeiros, vazanteiros, caatingueiros, apanhadores de flores sempre vivas, vacarianos e veredeiros que, apesar de manifestarem diferentes estruturas culturais, coadunam suas lutas em alianças que visam um objetivo comum, o direito aos territórios tradicionais historicamente ocupados. A partir de categorias e apontamentos dos povos veredeiros, procurei apresentar quatro diferentes perspectivas que devem ser percebidas como fundamentais para se compreender o presente etnográfico experienciado junto às comunidades tradicionais do Norte de Minas Gerais. Trata-se dos processos históricos que moldaram a estrutura fundiária do Brasil rural e que influíram diretamente nos sistemas de organização territorial da região; da cultura institucionalizada pelos currais da Bahia e de Pernambuco, que consolidaram uma forma própria de relação entre humano, gado e ambiente; das particularidades da região sanfranciscana, como atributo político e identitário desses povos, e, por último, da memória indígena que, apesar de fluída, converteu-se como referência junto aos grupos tradicionais da região
Solitary Bees Are More Efficient Pollinators of Sponge Gourd than Giant honeybees and Syrphid Flies
Get PDFCucurbits comprise a vast group of vegetables grown worldwide, including Pakistan. The sponge gourd (Luffa aegyptiaca) is a summer vegetable in Asia. Because of its monoecious nature, sponge gourd necessitates more pollination, and fruit production occurs only in the presence of insect pollinators. This study compared the foraging behavior and pollination effectiveness of the most abundant sponge gourd floral visitors, including five solitary bees and a giant honeybee, Apis dorsata. The foraging behavior was assessed regarding visitation rate, visitation frequency, and time spent per flower, while pollination effectiveness was assessed regarding pollen deposition and fruit set in a single visit. The bees constituted 91% of total pollinator abundance, followed by the flies (8%). Apis dorsata was the most abundant visitor, followed by Xylocopa sp., Lassioglossum sp., and Amegilla sp. Solitary bees, including Amegilla sp. and Nomia sp., demonstrated greater single-visit efficiency in pollen deposition and fruit set than A. dorsata and syrphid fly. Conservation of Amegilla sp. and Nomia sp. can enhance fruit production for sponge gourd and other vegetables cultivated in Punjab, Pakistan, by providing floral resources and nesting places
Molecular Characterization of Acute Bee Paralysis Virus (ABPV) and Black Queen Cell Virus (BQCV) in Honeybees (Apis mellifera L. (Hymenoptera: Apidae)) from the Campinas Region
Get PDFThe occurrence of Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) has prompted extensive research on the role of viruses, including Deformed Wing Virus (DWV), Acute Bee Paralysis Virus (ABPV), and Black Queen Cell Virus (BQCV), in honeybee health. This study investigated the presence and the genetic characteristics of DWV, ABPV, and BQCV in Apis mellifera colonies in a Brazilian apiary in Jaguariúna, SP, Brazil. A total of 11 apparently healthy colonies were sampled, and adult honeybees were submitted to a multiplex PCR. Results showed that six studied colonies tested positive for ABPV in at least one sampling, while one tested positive for BQCV. DWV was not detected, nor were co-infections observed in the sampled colonies. Although the infected colonies did not exhibit clinical signs of disease, the fluctuating presence of ABPV and BQCV suggests temporal variations in viral dynamics, possibly influenced by environmental and nutritional factors. The absence of DWV detection may be attributed to low infestation levels of the Varroa destructor mite in the sampled apiary. Phylogenetic analysis revealed close genetic relationships between the obtained ABPV and BQCV sequences and strains from South America. These findings contribute to the limited knowledge of viral epidemiology in Brazilian honeybee populations
Ant Species Distribution Models Reveal Mixed Elevational Diversity Patterns in Complete Elevation Gradients: Past and Present Climatic Effects?
Get PDFThe juxtaposition of climatic zones in tropical mountains is considered one of the leading causes of the high diversity of tropical mountains; high peaks block oceanic winds, causing mid-elevation peaks of precipitation and diversity. Also, historically wind-protected valleys may harbor high species richness because of climate stability. Despite this knowledge, the elevational patterns of many taxa and their drivers remain unsolved. We aimed to describe the spatial patterns of ants’ diversity in the Jamapa River watershed in Mexico based on species distribution models of 253 ant species. Moreover, we intend to understand the relationship between ant diversity with the current climatic conditions and historical climatic stability. The watershed includes maximum elevations of 5636, 4282, and 2500 m from south to north and is exposed to the oceanic northeastern winds. Elevational patterns of species richness were consistent with theoretical predictions but changed south (mid-elevation peaks) to north (monotonic decrease) in the watershed. Species richness was positively associated with mean annual temperature and precipitation seasonality. Climatically stable sites harbored high species richness below 2100 m of elevation but low species richness above 2400 m, while the beta diversity showed the opposite pattern. We observed that present climatic conditions and historical climatic stability were essential drivers of ant diversity in the Jamapa River watershed. Elevational patterns of species richness were concordant with theoretical expectations. They changed from a monotonic decrease of diversity to marked mid-elevation peaks of species richness, presumably associated with the maximum height of the mountains

O IMAGINÁRIO COMO POTÊNCIA EM VILÉM FLUSSER: RELAÇÕES ENTRE ARTE E JOGO NA PÓS-HISTÓRIA
Get PDFRESUMO: O propósito do artigo é investigar a concepção de imaginário na filosofia de Vilém Flusser e sua relação com a arte. Para tanto, examinamos como o filósofo trabalha outros conceitos relacionados, tais como abstrato e concreto, subjetividade e objetividade, arte e jogo, considerando a relação estabelecida com diferentes suportes e meios. A argumento central do texto explora a ideia de que Flusser concebe o imaginário como potência que codifica e transforma o mundo. Os diversos suportes e tecnologias destacados por Flusser em sua obra operam com o corpo, refletindo diferentes níveis de consciências e modos de imaginar. Aprofundando tal abordagem e considerando o deslocamento de materiais e a objetificação do mundo como o gesto primordial, avançamos em direção ao conceito de pós-história com objetivo de compreender as relações específicas entre o imaginário e os aparelhos neste contexto. Por fim, assinalamos como arte, jogo e tecno-imaginação emergem na filosofia de Flusser enquanto princípios de um tipo de experiência imaginativa que envolve a transformação de sentidos e experiências.

ABSTRACT: The purpose of the article is to investigate the conception of imaginary in the philosophy of Vilém Flusser. To this end, we examine how the philosopher formulates other related concepts, such as abstract and concrete, subjectivity and objectivity, art and game, considering the relationship with different media. The central argument of the text explore the idea that Flusser conceives the imaginary as a potency that encodes and transforms the world. The several media and technologies highlighted by Flusser in his work operate with body, reflecting different levels of consciousness and modes of imagining. Working with this approach and considering the displacement of materials and the objectification of the world as the primordial gesture, we move towards the concept of post-history with the aim of understanding the specific relationships between imaginary and apparatuses in this context. Finally, we point out how art, game and techno-imagination emerge as principles of a type of imaginative experience that involves the transformation of meanings and experiences.

No full textIn her work Hospício é deus - diario I, Maura Lopes Cançado (1929-1993) recreates herself as a character in the narrative of herself, intensifying herself in the deviation that materializes in the transgression of repetition. In the mask of self-writing, Maura outbreaks up herself as character, becoming difference, pulsation of infinity. Thus, way, Maura's narrative is understood not as a work of language, but surely as literature. Far from producing recollections or reports, Maura becomes the very void of language. In a critical reading in relation to the diary of this mine writer, performing raids on different theoretical bases, the purpose of this paper is to think about the role of repetition in Maura's writing as a project of subversion of representation, because, thought in terms proposed by Deleuze, her autobiography should be understood as a repetition of the different.Em sua obra Hospício é deus – diário I, Maura Lopes Cançado (1929-1993) recria-se como personagem na narrativa de si, potencializando-se no desvio que se efetiva na transgressão da repetição. Na máscara da escrita de si, Maura expulsa-se em personagem, tornando-se diferença, pulsação do infinito. Desse modo, a narrativa de Maura é compreendida não como obra de linguagem, mas, sim, como literatura. Longe de produzir rememorações ou relatos, Maura faz-se o próprio vazio da linguagem. Numa leitura crítica em relação ao diário dessa escritora mineira, fazendo incursões em diferentes bases teóricas, a proposta desse trabalho é pensar o papel da repetição na escrita de Maura como um projeto de subversão da representação, pois, pensada nos termos propostos por Deleuze, sua autobiografia deve ser compreendida como uma repetição do diferente
