An octaband micro strip antenna is designed that integrates the current wireless technologies with some of the older and upcoming technologies of the mobile communication. It provides backward compatibility to the technologies like 2G, 3G. It operates in all the three Wi-Fi bands, the proposed 5G band at 3.3 to 3.4 GHz (lower 5G bands) and the Wi-Max band. It is designed with copper as the conductive material and FR-4 as the substrate. Defective ground structure (DGS) has been implemented to improve the return losses. This antenna radiates at 8 different frequencies which are: 2G (1.8 GHz), 3G (2.1 GHz), 4G (2.3 GHz), 5G (3.3GHz), Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz,5.0GHz,5.9 GHz), and Wi-Max (4.2 GHz)

Design and Performance Analysis of Blind Algorithm in Wireless Communication

    Get PDF
In this paper, the concept of blind algorithm with automatic gain control (AGC) is introduced in adaptive antenna system for signal optimization with an aim is to estimate the desired response in adaptive fashion. Blind algorithm with AGC is a two-stageadaptive filtering algorithm; a combination of Bessel least mean square (BLMS) and constant modulus algorithm (CMA). Blind Bessel beamformer with AGC does not require external reference signal to update its weight vectors and step size for convergence but updates itself from own reference signal obtained from the output of CMA. Similarly, step size is obtained from the correlation matrix which is the product of the signals induced in array elements of antenna. BLMS is the modified version of LMS algorithm; based on the non-uniform step size exploiting the asymptotic decay property of Bessel function of the first kind. The output of CMA provides input and reference signals for BLMS that makes it blind. The contributions of this paper include the development of novel blind theory concept and presentation of an AGC method in order to make the Bessel beamformer blind which can update itself electronically through the correlation matrix depending on the signal array vector with the aim to make the signal power constant

Recognition of Vehicle Number Plate Using Image Processing Technique

    Get PDF
The video surveillance system is preferred for security monitoring, however, the detection of moving object is a challenging part. In areas where parking space is allotted to a particular vehicle, the wrongly parked vehicle can be recognized. It is noted that the number plates of the vehicle are found in different shape, size and also they are different in color. This makes the detection of the vehicle by their number plates, the most interesting and challenging research topic. Number plate detection is helpful in finding stolen cars, car parking management system and identification of the vehicle in traffic. This paper presents an approach for Number Plate Recognition (NPR) using morphological operation and Sobel edge detection method. In this approach, all the letters and numbers used in the number plate are segmented by using bounding box method. After segmentation, template matching approach is used to recognize numbers and characters. The number plate decoded can be used further for identification, matching and documentation purpose of vehicle details

Geophysical changes detection by remote sensing in Alaminos River Pangasinan, Philippines

    Get PDF
Geophysical changes of the river outlets, riverbanks and coastlines in Alaminos, Pangasinan were measured using Google Earth from 2009 to 2014. On the other hand, actual measurements were gathered using South Total Station (NTS-362R6L) in 2015. The insights of the residents regarding feature changes of the river were obtained through one on one interview. Root Mean Square Errors (RMSE) were computed for measurement and horizontal positional accuracy of Google Earth. To perceive the effects of sea levels, historical data (2004-2015) from Bolinao, Philippines Tide Chart at online tides and currents predictions were also analyzed. Alaminos river outlets decreased in width size due to natural factor and human activities. Alaminos riverbank increased in width size which could be possibly due to natural calamities and weak bank resistance brought about by the frequent flooding caused by heavy rains and the emergency released of water from San Roque Dam. Generally the north and south coasts of Alaminos River increased and expanded. Rise in sea level is also a probable cause of changes wherein heights of low tides in Pangasinan Gulf is increasing overtime. The computed RMSE was low which indicate positional accuracy and measurement of Google Earth in the study area

Bovine Disease-Related DNA Mutations and Their Genetic Control Strategies in Breeding for Disease Resistance

    Get PDF
Bovine genomic DNA mutations and their genetic effects on gene expression and protein function influence disease susceptibility and resistance of cattle. The genetic loci related to cattle diseases are mainly divided into two types: single-locus-disease genes and multigenic-disease loci. The single-locus-disease genes are called causal mutations; their genetic basis is simply and normally detected in the coding and non-coding regions inducing substitution of amino acid, premature termination of translation, and complete deletion of entire exon(s). In contrast, the genetic basis of disease related to multiple genes is more complex since susceptibility or resistance of these diseases is affected by the interactions among host, pathogen, and environment. This article reviewed current research and application of the major diseases of cattle con- trolled by single gene or polygenic genes. The genetic control strategies of effective identification and control of these dis- eases in bovine breeding and production were also analyzed

Research Progress of Notch Signaling Pathway Related Diseases

    Get PDF
Notch signal transduction pathway is one of the important pathways that affect the fate of cells. Adjacent cells transmit signals through Notch receptors to regulate the differentiation, proliferation and apoptosis of many kinds of cells, including stem cells. Affects organ formation and morphogenesis. Gene mutations of some molecules in Notch signaling pathway are related to the occurrence and development of many diseases. On the basis of in-depth study of Notch signal transduction pathway, using it as a target to design drugs for the treatment of related diseases, including cancer, CADASIL and other hereditary diseases, or the development of stem cell medical techniques. Surgical treatment of Alzheimer's disease (disease,AD), Parkinson's disease, diabetes mellitus and other cellular tissue dysfunction or impaired diseases has important scientific significance and application value

Correlations between dynamic fragility, activation energy and glass transition temperature in polymeric composite materials: An overview from literature

    Get PDF
Here, it is compiled data from literature for glass transition temperature (Tg) and activation energy (Ea) for different types of polymeric composite materials. A correlation among both parameters and dynamic mechanical curves is analyzed in terms of reinforcement effect and its correlation with the glassy and elastomeric moduli, as well the wideness of the main transition region. Besides, all results are discussed in terms of dynamic fragility. The results indicate that the glass transition temperature has not a direct relation with reinforcement effect promoted both in the glassy and/or elastomeric moduli. Moreover, the dynamic fragility concept seems do not be applied in polymeric composite materials since in the glass transition region the format of the storage, loss and tan delta curves vary strongly, depending on the specific polymeric composite material family
