This study aims to determine the effect of information computer technology (ICT)-based learning media and learning discipline on the effectiveness of mathematics learning process. The experi-ment was carried out in two groups where each group was given different treatments. The first group was taught using ICT-based learning media, while the second group was taught using conventional learning media. Each group was further divided into two categories according to their level of discipline, namely groups with high levels of discipline and groups with low levels of discipline. The method used in this research is an experiment with a treatment by level analysis model. The type of test used is Anova Two-Way. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that the group taught using ICT-based learning media obtained a higher effectiveness of learning pro-cess than the group taught using conventional learning media. and groups that have a high level of discipline get a higher effectiveness of the learning process than groups with low levels of dis-cipline. and it is also evident that there is an influence of the interaction between the use of ICT-based learning media and the level of discipline on the effectiveness of learning process
An ethnography study on mathematical terminologies within two indigenous Makian languages in North Maluku
The two indigenous Makian languages, Western Makian (Makian Luar) and Eastern Makian (Makian Dalam/Taba), stem from two different language families in North Maluku. The indigenous Makian people are typically ignorant of the riches of values and knowledge reserved in their language and culture, including mathematical content. Therefore, through an ethnography approach, this study identifies mathematical terminologies (natural numbers, fractions, number operations, indefinite quantifiers and adverbs of time) that exist in indigenous Makian languages. Data Collecting was conducted through in-depth interviews with indigenous community leaders and some primary literature reviews, then analyzed qualitatively. The mathematical language that has been identified along with the context of its use can be a good entry point and a mean-ingful material in integrating indigenous languages and cultures in mathematics learning
Improving problem-solving skills with worksheets using the discovery learning model-assisted quick response code
Good teaching materials have an impact on the quality of mathematics learning and can help students become more engaged in their learning and develop their problem-solving skills. It is necessary to develop LKPD utilizing a discovery learning paradigm helped by QR codes in order to boost problem-solving abilities. This study uses a reliable and useful discovery learning paradigm with the use of a QR code to identify the characteristics of LKPD. The Plomp model, which has three steps total—the preparatory stage, the development stage, and the assessment—is used in this particular sort of study, which is called development research. For class VIII of junior high school, LKPD employs a discovery learning methodology with the use of a QR code. The tools employed are validation sheets, observation sheets, questionnaires, interviews, and final exams. The findings demonstrated the validity, applicability, and efficacy of the LKPD for class VIII junior high school students using the discovery learning approach. LKPD practicality was 87%, while LKPD validity was 89%. The average student score on tests measuring their ability to solve mathematical problems was 92%, which indicates the success of the program
