Imitation under stress [Dataset]
Imitation has been shown to be an important heuristic, in particular in relatively complex environments. In this experiment we test whether subjects are more likely to use imitation if they are under time pressure or distracted. Subjects play a repeated Cournot oligopoly. Treatments are time pressure within the task and distractions through a second task (a Stroop-task) that has to be performed as well and influences payment. We additionally measure stress levels through salivary cortisol and heart rate. Our main findings are that time pressure and distraction can raise physiological stress levels of subjects within our task. More importantly from an economic perspective, we can also observe a corresponding behavioral change that is indicative of imitation
Nachlass Heinrich Bassermann
Bioinformatic Tool for the Analysis of Time-Resolved data: the TReCCA Analyser
The TReCCA Analyser is conceived to facilitate, speed up and intensify the analysis
and representation of your time-resolved data, more specically in the case of cell culture assays. Without having to type any formula, it will perform at wish the following calculations:
Control condition normalisation.
Technical replicate averaging and standard deviation calculation.
Smoothing and slope calculation of the data in order to obtain the rate of change.
IC50/EC50 determination of a substance in a time-resolved fashion.

Systematic Literature Review on Automated Monument Detection
This study measures the state of automated procedures within cultural heritage detection and management by correlating key terms for LiDAR data by citations. To reveal the evolution of the field, we conduct a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using standardized search structures on publications related to “automated monument detection”. In addition, we highlight emerging best practices through cross-referencing occurrences of “automated procedures”. We analyze these results using the methods of network analysis (NA) with respect to personal and institutional ties, as well as actors involved in automated practice related to the field of cultural heritage. This repository contains the raw results, and enriched network data files from our analaysis
Comparison of perfusion models for quantitative T1 weighted DCE-MRI of rectal cancer [Dataset]
Twenty-six patients with newly diagnosed rectal carcinoma underwent 3T MRI of the pelvis including a T1 weighted dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE) protocol before treatment. For eighteen patients, mean values for Plasma Flow (PF), Plasma Volume (PV) and Mean Transit Time (MTT) were obtained for three perfusion models
Disaggregated Conflict Dataset (DISCON) 1.0
The Disaggregated Conflict Dataset (DISCON) has been jointly released by Dr. Christoph Trinn, Institute for Political Science, Heidelberg, and the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research (HIIK). DISCON is based on a broad-based, integrative concept of conflict. Drawing on news sources and academic analyses, DISCON currently comprises data on 156 violent and non-violent conflicts between states, between governments and rebel groups, and among non-state actors and in Asia and Oceania from 2000 to 2014. It is to be continually supplemented and updated. Whereas existing conflict datasets mainly restrict themselves to the number of fatalities as a measure of conflict intensity, the Heidelberg approach considers other consequences of political violence, as well. These include the number of displaced persons and the extent of destruction. In addition, the means of violence - weapons or personnel deployment - are recorded. Every violent conflict is broken down into months and first-level subnational regions such as provinces and states, and its intensity is assessed on the basis of the five indicators. In all, DISCON contains over 6300 region-month intensities with about 31,600 individual assessments
Old Age and Prosocial Behavior: Social Preferences or Experimental Confounds? [Dataset]
Experimental and field evidence indicate a positive link between social preferences and age, most strikingly between the elderly and young adults. However, it is possible that the seemingly positive link between age and preferences stems from confounds in experimental procedure. In a dictator game study we find that elderly participants do indeed transfer higher shares of their endowments to their peers than a standard sample of student participants. This result holds good even in treatments accounting for wealth differences and experimenter demand effects. However, we observe no difference in behavior when we compare elderly participants and students who have not previously participated in economic experiments. Accordingly, it is possible that the seemingly stronger social preferences of the elderly are due to confounds associated with lack of experience with economic experiments. In addition, when comparing incentivized and hypothetical transfer decisions, we observe a hypothetical bias in treatments with a "take" framing, but not in treatments with the standard "give" framing
Pottery drawings, Zafar, Jemen, mostly excavated
The corpus of material which is to be archived consists of 9211 files in 68 directories, a total of 12.1 GB. 99% are unpublished. Three kinds of image: photo, pencil drawing and vector hybrid. The vector drawings comprise 33%. They are formed by combining a vector drawing with a photo
Understanding Bank-Run Contagion [Dataset]
We study experimental coordination games to examine through which transmission channels, and under which information conditions, a panic-based depositor-run at one bank may trigger a panic-based depositor-run at another bank. We find that withdrawals at one bank trigger withdrawals at another bank by increasing players’ beliefs that other depositors in their own bank will withdraw, making them more likely to withdraw as well. Observed withdrawals only affect depositors’ beliefs, and are thus contagious, when they form an informative signal about bank fundamentals
