Threshold and its performance in urban settlement
This study aims to investigate several elements as a form of threshold in the urban settlement. Threshold has the function of connectedness and separation, which is an integral part of spatial practice in urban settlements. That is how humans have the freedom to regulate their activities and space by using the threshold as connector or separator. In particular, this paper describes the elements function as a threshold for different conditions to connect and separate human roles and activities. The extent to which activities occur in a particular space and time in urban settlements is the key to determining the shape of the threshold. This paper presents an overview of the forms and performance of threshold that exist in urban settlements based on everyday practices. It not only discusses the function of elements as a threshold but also reveals the relationship between in-out of the everyday practice in urban settlements. The presence of thresholds in urban settlements is not only limited to physical elements. In this paper, we argue that the threshold element can produce a different performance due to the interacting activities between space and time. So that the understanding that connecting and separating cannot be seen as something fixed, but depends on other aspects that occur in everyday practice. This paper provides another understanding of the performance of thresholds in urban settlements, and this can be carried out in the development of a dynamic and transformative urban spatial design
Lexical and Synthesis of Architectural Vernacularism of Lanting House in Banjarmasin
The cultural heritage of river life in Banjarmasin in the form of lanting houses is an important asset that can support the potential for the development of the city. One of the efforts to maintain and develop the existence of the lanting house can be done by tracing the lexicon and aspects of its vernacularism. From the historical and cultural studies of the origin of the lanting house, it was found that the culture of migrating (Lahei-Muara Teweh-Central Kalimantan) and trading culture (Hulu Sungai - South Kalimantan). To lead to a new development with new functions, the lexical "Rumah Lanting†and “Balanting†must be maintained. The word "lanting" and the process of "balanting" must be included such as gallery lanting, lanting guest house, or lanting homestay. Lexical "balanting" emphasis on lanting architecture which can only be docked and not settled. With the lexical "balanting" process, the architecture of the lanting house is floating and moves along the river. From analysis of 14 lanting houses located in the urban city, such as Kampung Seberang Masjid and on Bromo Island Kampung Mantuil, Banjarmasin City, it is found that the character of the lanting house which has spontaneous adaptive ability, multipurpose space expression, and flexibility of movement. The lanting house is able to move flexibly as well as the lexicon that is attached to it in the public perception towards artifact/notation of lanting. The influencing factor was the ethnolinguistic culture which influenced the journey of the Proto Banjar community-Dipa Daha people to the Banjar people during the Banjar Kingdom era. The result of the vernacularism synthesis confirms that the lanting house fulfills the rules as part of the vernacular architecture
Combating learning loss: How do students engage cognitively and affectively in online-based academic activities?
During the pandemic, education faces the problem of learning loss, however online academic activities can assist. This research addresses cognitive and affective online-academic engagement. This quantitative research of 208 students at private universities in Jakarta uses an observational technique and an explanatory design. This study analyzes the measurement and structural model of the relationship between factors from the emotional intelligence aspects and self-regulated learning in the flipped classroom context. The research findings indicate that students' cognitive and affective engagement is on track, as determined by their task persistence which can be established through effort and performance evaluation when completing the assignment. Effort and evaluation begin with self-awareness as a foundation for orientation and commitment. This study paves the way for further investigation of other findings that indicate the need to allocate and optimize time during pre-class activities while educating and encouraging students' persistence. Without tremendous effort and evaluation on the part of students, time on task for work can result in low-quality performance. These findings could drive teachers to construct engaging lesson plans by incorporating emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning prior class
Spirituality of lengger dance in papringan hamlet Banyumasan

The spiritual values found in the lengger dance in Papringan Hamlet, Banyumas is the local community's belief in the existence of indhang, offerings offered to the indhang, movements that are considered erotic have spiritual value and gratitude to the power, and there are several taboos for lengger dancer
Lampah: expression canvas of Java’s spirituality in the new media art
Malioboro is an integral part of the architectural artwork of the city of Yogyakarta, which is full of meaning, philosophy, and noble values of Javanese culture. Currently, Malioboro has developed into a tourist area and a quite existing public cultural space. However, along with the times, the philosophical meaning and noble values embedded in the architecture of the city of Yogyakarta by HB I as the founder of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat seem to be unclear and increasingly difficult to read. The video art installation Lampah is a form of creative response to the existence of contemporary Malioboro as a public space as well as a meaningful piece of architectural art. By using interpretative-subjective approaches and artistic methods, the creator reads this phenomenon and represents it in the form of Lampah artwork. As a contemplative space, 'Lampah' also offers an alternative way to transform Javanese noble values and spirituality by using idioms and ways of speaking in Javanese culture. Models in architecture are used to complete the design of this work. It is hoped that this concept can provide new insights and discourses in art, especially new media ar
Ruwat Murwakala ritual: transmission of educational value through the traditional performing arts and its relevance with the implementation of the concept of merdeka belajar
Besides being an expression of culture, traditional artworks carry various kinds of knowledge and values that are useful for the survival of the community. This is one of the reasons why a product of traditional artworks survives in the midst of the progress of the times. This research on the ruwatan murwakala ritual aims to; (1) find out how the transmission of educational values occurs in wayang performances; (2) Analyse the scenes in Ruwat Murwakala's story that show the process of transmitting educational values and supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar idea. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative interpretive. Data was collected through participant observation (observation), literature review and in-depth interviews. Observations were made by observing the performance directly or by looking at the recording of the performance of Ruwatan's play Murwakala. The study of library sources consisting of articles and writings related to the research subject aims to complete the research data. Triangulation of data sources and sources is used to validate the data obtained so that the validity of the data can be accounted for. The results of the research on the Ruwatan ritual of the Murwakala play show that there are findings in the form of a process of delivering character education values to the community, including curiosity; honesty and knight; respect; religion; obeying the rules; respect; fair; smart; creative; critical knights; honest; respectful; and intelligent. These values are contained in each chapter in the story of Ruwatan Murwakala, namely: the pathet nem scene (beginning), the pathet sanga scene (middle) and the pathet manyura scene (end
Socialization of the Covid-19 vaccine for children on the acceptance of parents
This study aims to find out how the influence of the socialization of the Covid-19 vaccine program on children by the Indonesian government has on the level of parental acceptance in Medan City. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach to 200 parents of elementary school students. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and data analysis was carried out by testing hypotheses through t-test and f-test and the coefficient of determination. The results of the study found that the outreach carried out by the government about the benefits of the Covid-19 vaccine for children was not effective. This can be seen from the results of the coefficient of determination test, whether there is a level of trust of respondents in the information on the Covid-19 vaccine and whether there is a child's behavior in implementing the health protocol which is carried out simultaneously. regarding the respondent's attitude regarding Covid-19 vaccination for children, the respondent's acceptance rate was 14.1%. This shows the failure of the Indonesian government in socializing the benefits of the Covid-19 vaccine for children in efforts to prevent Covid-19
Multi-objective Fractional Order PID Controller Optimization for Kid's Rehabilitation Exoskeleton
Fractional order Controllers have been used in several industrial cases to achieve better performance of the systems. This paper proposes a Fractional Order Proportional Integral Derivative (FOPID) controller. It is synthesized using Oustaloup approximation, and its parameters are tuned using the Genetic Algorithm (GA) optimization method. The aim is to minimize the error, the energy and the startup torques using two objective functions to improve the control performances and the robustness. The validity of the proposed controller is shown via simulation by controlling a two-link exoskeleton for children's gait rehabilitation, and the results are compared to an Integer order PID (IOPID) controller. Simulation results clearly indicate the superiority of the optimized FOPID in terms of trajectory tracking and the used torques. Moreover, the FOPID controller is tested with parameter uncertainties. Its robustness is proven against thigh and shank masses variation. Both controllers are simulated under the same frequency conditions using Simulink MATLAB R2018a
