Audience reception of acculturation in parenting style on Indonesian-Korean YouTube channel
The aim of this study is to investigate the audience reception of acculturation in parenting style on the Indonesian-Korean YouTube channel "Kimbab Family". Parenting is an activity aimed at helping children to meet challenges from the environment as well as developing. This study focuses on the interpretations of young adult audiences on the YouTube channel. Thirty-six informants were selected as primary data using FGD techniques. From the results obtained by the researchers through FGDs with the informants, it was shown that the audiences reception on the YouTube channel is diverse and influential. By combining Indonesian and Korean parenting styles, the Kimbab Family has become a source of inspiration and a role model for effective parenting. This research highlights the need for further exploration of the role of media platforms in shaping audience perceptions and expectations, as well as the potential benefits and challenges of incorporating diverse cultural influences in parenting practices
Self-Tuning PID Controller for Quadcopter using Fuzzy Logic
Tracking has become a necessary feature of a drone. This is due to the demand for drones, especially quadcopters, to be used for activities such as surveillance, monitoring, and filming. It is crucial to ensure the quadcopters perform the tracking with stable flight. Despite the advantages of having VTOL ability and great maneuverability, quadcopters require an effective controller to overcome their under-actuation and instability behavior. Even though a PID controller is commonly used and promising with its simple mechanism, it requires very proper tuning to ensure the stability of the system is not affected. In this paper, a simple Fuzzy algorithm is proposed to be incorporated into a PID controller to form a self-tuning Fuzzy PID controller. The Fuzzy logic controller works as the self-adjuster to the PID parameters. A mathematical model of the DJI Tello quadcopter is derived with position and attitude control loops that are designed to track a variety of trajectories with stable flight. The proposed method uses a simple architecture where the ranges of PID parameters are used as scaling factors for Fuzzy controller outputs. The results of the simulations show the tracking error performance metrics, which are IAE, ISE, and RMSE, are smaller compared to the values of the PID controller. Beyond its impact on quadcopter control, the proposed self-tuning approach holds promise for broader applications in nonlinear systems
Comparison between Compensated and Uncompensated PD with Cascade Controller Design of PMDC Motor: Real Experiments
In this paper, we compare two different kinds of position controllers, namely PD (both compensated and uncompensated PD) and Cascade controller (both compensated and uncompensated Cascade). SIMULINK software is used to implement lumped parameters estimation with UKF. The Proportional-Derivative (PD) controller design by root locus and Cascade controller design have been chosen for our feedback system, and coulomb friction as disturbance is taken into account in the estimation model. The aim of this paper is to find out which controller is better (both compensated and uncompensated PD controller vs. both compensated and uncompensated Cascade controller). Therefore, the objective is to show how useful the parameter estimation for controller design with compensation. Through comparing two position controller designs, the experiment results show that both Compensated Proportional Derivative (PD) controller and Cascade controller Design have much better performance than the Uncompensated ones
Reclaiming Women‟s power by eatery names in two multicultural cities
As patriarchy is not solely based on sexuality, energizing women requires enhancing their intellect and state of mind. It is considered a gesture of respect to refer to a married woman by the name of her husband or eldest son. Women's public participation is still deemed devalued, as evidenced by the naming of restaurants. This study examines eatery names in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and Malacca, Malaysia, two cities with similar historical backgrounds. It aims to investigate women's efforts to improve their negotiating position in society by naming their eateries. Although two restaurants place women in powerful positions, many still need help to attain women's positions and social respect
Organizational communication as an effort to improve managerial performance, quality of work-life and job satisfaction
This study's goal was to test performance variables for mediating the relationship between quality work-life (QWL) and job satisfaction. The population in this study was the entire village government in North Halmahera Regency. The purposive sampling technique was used because only the position of village head amounted to 121 respondents. The data was collected through surveys with questionnaires. The questionnaire instrument test used a validity test that is a factor analysis with a loading factor value of ≥ 0.5, and a reliability test with a Cronbach alpha value of ≥ 0.7. Hypothesis testing used regression and hierarchical regression. The result shows the following findings: both job satisfaction and managerial performance is affected by QWL positively and significantly; job satisfaction is positively and significantly influenced by managerial performance; and managerial performance can act as mediating variable on the relationship between QWL and job satisfaction. In conclusion, this study still has several limitations, especially regarding job satisfaction variables. Therefore, further research is suggested to investigate the implications of both the intrinsic and extrinsic job satisfaction on the quality of life variables
New classes of exponentially general nonconvex variational inequalities
In this paper, some new classes of exponentially general nonconvex variational inequalities are introduced and investigated. Several special cases are discussed as applications of these nonconvex variational inequalities. Projection technique is used to establish the equivalence between the non covex variational inequalities and fixed point problem. This equivalent formulation is used to discuss the existence of the solution. Several inertial type methods are suggested and analyzed for solving exponentially general nonconvex variational inequalities. using the technique of the projection operator and dynamical systems. Convergence analysis of the iterative methods is analyzed under suitable and appropriate weak conditions. In this sense, our result can be viewed as improvement and refinement of the previously known results. Our methods of proof are very simple as compared with other techniques
Development of a 3D Printed Biologically Inspired Monoped Self-Balancing Robot
The development of lightweight, agile robots built with a high degree of efficiency and precision is a complex and particularly challenging task. In Robotics, the perspectives of such systems have the potential to reimagine and reevaluate space and planetary explorations while enhancing the human ability to reach and analyze different environments. This research evaluates ways to build a single-leg robot capable of self-balancing on any terrain with the prospect of omnidirectional saltation steering. This report will go through the process of designing a 1-degree of freedom, balanced robot while evaluating various hardware options in motion control and data feedback. Based on these research findings, this paper will also discuss the difficulties and issues encountered and the approach to solving them
Comparison of PCB Based Actuator Coils for Untethered Actuation
Recently magnetic actuation has become a versatile tool for manipulation on both the micro and macro scale. Due to the problems arising from scale, conventional electromagnet production methods are insufficient to produce the desired electromagnets to be used for this purpose. To solve the problems arising from this situation, researchers have been forced to work in alternative electromagnet production and application areas and paved the way for PCB-based electromagnetic actuators. For this reason, this article will explain the design principles of PCB planar coils for electromagnetic actuator applications and will provide the basis for later studies to create a coil matrix using this coil design and an actuator that can move ferromagnetic particles or magnets in the plane with this 2D coil matrix. The presented project design steps can be listed as follows; First of all, to be able to design a coil that consists of copper paths on the PCB and can meet expectations (homogeneous magnetic field, high magnetic force/current ratio). PCB coils consisting of square, circular and hexagonal coils are manufactured and various measurements are made. The measured results are consistent with the simulated results proving the accuracy and applicability of PCB coil actuators, and they are highly suitable for a new actuator version. In the tests carried out, coils energized with 1A can provide a maximum field strength of 1400 (A/m) and an average of 900 (A/m) and due to the lack of magnetic core, the created magnetic field has the shape of a bell. In order to overcome this situation, it is foreseen that making studies to increase the working current and, as a more important development, switching from the planar single-layer structure to the structure of two or more layers can increase the magnetic field produced by this type of coils, but this layer increase should take into account the cost and PCB production and application capabilities. should be made available
Media views in Indonesia on the belt and road initiative policy : a study of Indonesian new media reports to the BRI project of China in Indonesia
The pros and cons of the project of BRI in Indonesia cannot be separated from mainstream and online mass media coverage in Indonesia. In the coverage, there is a framing to build a story so that the influence of journalists is so great that the news is read by the public. In addition, the informant factor as well as ideology influence the news statements that appeared in the media. This research focuses on how the construction of the mass media coverage in Indonesia, especially the new media (online news) related to the cooperation between Indonesian and Chinese government in the BRI project. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach and framing analysis. The research object is the official portal of online news such as Media Indonesia.com. Republika.com Kompas.com, and Jawapos.com. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that the framing of online media coverage Kompas.com, mediaindonesia.com, jawapos.com and Republika.com have differences. Kompas.com and jawapos.com put more emphasis on scientific and intellectual language because both of their readers have a better level of education and economics. Whereas republika.com and mediaindonesia.com tend to use straightforward and simple language. Kompas.com and jawapos.com lead opinions to think critically with data while republika.com and mediaindonesia.com leads the public to see the implementation of Indonesia's and China economic cooperation programs in the BRI project
Implementation of LoRa Wireless Communication in Smart Diabetic Shoes Design
Diabetes is a widespread medical condition affecting a substantial portion of the global population. It is a metabolic disorder known as diabetes mellitus, characterized by severe fluctuations in blood glucose levels due to inadequate insulin production in the human body. The effective monitoring of diabetes is of paramount importance to researchers as it holds the potential to enhance the quality of healthcare services. Among the challenges faced by individuals with diabetes, one prevalent issue is the development of ulcers, which can be challenging to detect promptly. Technological advancements offer a promising avenue for cost-effective and continuous monitoring of chronic diseases like diabetes. This study centers on the development of IoT-based intelligent diabetic footwear that incorporates pressure sensors and temperature monitoring for individuals with diabetic feet. In the evaluation of SX1278 (Ra-02) Lora Module communication, deployed at eight different locations, it was observed that two of these points achieved a flawless transmission success rate of 100%. Conversely, the communication failed at points 6 and 7, with a success rate falling below 50%. Some of these failures can be attributed to signal obstructions, including natural elements such as trees and terrain, as well as man-made structures like buildings and machinery workshops, which hinder the efficient transmission of signals from the end node to the gateway. The results of this research provide positive implications in the form of developing IoT-based diabetes shoes that can be applied with alternative Lora communication connections in areas with poor internet signal
