Climate change and gender : how can fairtrade contribute to the buildup of resilience?
This paper investigates the gendered impacts of climate change among Fairtrade-certified farmers, using the Uganda Organic Coffee Farmers' Association as a case study. The study found that FI and producer organizations must strengthen two activities in particular to enhance the resilience of the members of the producer organization. First, the producer organization must take some of the profits from the sales of coffee and save it for a rainy day to protect the livelihoods of its members. Second, the producer organization should make sure that not only are there more female farmers as representatives of the producer organization but also that their voices are heard and their opinions respected during decision-making processes. In that way, the non-neutral aspects of a crisis such as floods and landslides, and solutions to this problem can be well articulated. (Article)departmental bulletin pape
Mimeticised faith in otaku culture
This text discusses key studies on otaku culture, reviewing previous research on the characteristics, behaviors, and consumption patterns of otaku, who are sometimes called "believers" due to their intense passion. It also organizes the structure of prayer based on typologies of prayer research and reconsiders otaku behavior in relation to Japanese religious views. The changing otaku culture's connection to "faith" is explored, highlighting the evolving relationship between otaku culture and religious-like devotion.論説(Article)departmental bulletin pape

Reinterpreting the meanings of aging : from feminist gerontology to trans gerontology
As discussions on aging LGBTQ+ emerge in the U.S., transgender older adults remain invisible. This paper explores trans gerontology by examining the intersections of gender, sexuality, and aging. It demonstrates how trans gerontology can provide crucial information for transgender older adults. Furthermore, trans gerontology creates a space that amplifies the lived experiences of transgender older adults, which differs from medical and social welfare frameworks.
