Experiencing a virtual character with a human soul : affectively designed and emotionally connected
No full textThis paper examines the characteristics of virtual YouTubers as a form of media expression generally, and at the same time as a specific affective artificial communicative agent. An indepth group interview was conducted with several fans of virtual YouTubers, to explore users’ expectations of, cognitions about, and communication experiences with these artificial agents. The results show that as a hybrid of human (i.e., the nakanohito) and virtual character (specifically analyzed herein, "Kizuna Ai"), who communicate in real time through livestreaming, virtual YouTubers create a comfortable rapport with their fans. Using Kizuna Ai as a uniquely representative case of virtual YouTubers, this paper examines the details of her ‘split’ event and the ensuing online ‘flaming’ episode. Focusing on users’ perceptions and experiences of anthropomorphized agents as well as the interaction process between Kizuna Ai and her fans, the research aims to explore how mediality, "intelligence" and interactivity converge to shape expectations of coexistence with nonhuman agents in contemporary media ecologies.論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape

No full textアメリカ大統領選においても問題として現れている近年のアメリカ政治におけるイデオロギー分極化について、そのアメリカ司法、特に憲法判例への影響を分析し、これまでのアメリカ憲法史、憲法判例史を踏まえて論じた。また、現在のロバーツ・コートの下している諸判決について、公民権運動以降、ウォレン・コート、バーガー・コートが築き上げてきた自由や平等を推進する目的で下された判決を覆していることについて批判した。This article analyzed the impact of the ideological polarization in the US politics recently, which has also emerged as an issue in the US presidential elections, on the US judiciary, particularly constitutional case law, based on the history of the US Constitution and constitutional case law to date. Reconsidering Yanagita Kunio and Miyamoto Tsuneichi's theory of education from the perspective of tourism education research
No full text学習指導要領改訂を契機に、初等教育から高等教育に至る観光教育の体系化が進む一方、職業教育を除いた観光教育の理念は未だ確立されていない。本稿は、柳田國男・宮本常一の教育論及び旅観・郷土観を再考し、郷土との接続を通じて自らの生活環境を学ぶ視座を示すとともに、イノベーションの源泉となる観光教育の可能性を論じる。実現に向け、地域学習との連携等、地域との結びつきを強化するための基盤整備政策が求められる。The systematization of tourism education from primary to higher education is progressing, but the philosophy of tourism education has not yet been clearly established, except for practical education. This paper discusses the possibility of fostering a perspective that links one's own life and local history, and of tourism education functioning as a source of innovation, based on the educational theories of Yanagita Kunio and Miyamoto Tsuneichi and their views on travel and hometowns.
