A study on extended DLDC-aided blind signal detection in unified optical and wireless channels
有線通信にPDM(Polarization Division Multiplexing)通信を用いることにより,光ファイバ中にMIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output)通信路を構築することができ,大容量化が可能となる. 本検討では,このブラインド信号検出を実現するDLDC(Differential Linear Dispersion Code)の適用方法を提案する.One of the solutions for utilizing the high-frequency band is to deploy multiple distributed units (DUs) under a central unit (CU) in cloud radio access network (C-RAN) architecture. In the case of the uplink from the terminal to the CU, wireless links are established between the mobile terminals and DU. On the other hand, optical fibers are connected between the DU and CU. When PDM (Polarization Division Multiplexing) communication is used for optical communications, it is possible to construct multi-input multi-output (MIMO) channels in the fiber. In this configuration, both DU and CU need to detect MIMO signals, which causes severe signal processing delay. In this paper, to improve the responsiveness, it is assumed that the DU does not detect the signal but simply transfers, and only the CU detects the signal. At this time, it is effective to perform blind signal detection after unifying the wireless space and the optical space as one MIMO channel. This paper presents a novel method for demodulating in a CU using differential linear dispersion code (DLDC) to realize blind signal detection.departmental bulletin pape

Singlet oxygen from endoperoxide initiates an intracellular ROS release in HaCaT keratinocytes
This research is focused on studying the effects of stimulating HaCaT keratinocytes with endoperoxide (a reagent that quantitatively releases singlet oxygen by thermal decomposition) on the release of secondary reactive oxygen species (ROS) intracellularly. To understand whether this phenomenon occurs, and consequently how it occurs, specific ROS inhibitors and/ or enzyme (NOX) and PAF receptor inhibitors were used. Chemiluminescence and ROS sensitive assays were employed to confirm the release of secondary ROS, particularly superoxide, hydrogen peroxide and singlet oxygen.doctoral thesi
Intercultural business communication challenges : a documentation study toward cross-cultural competence between Egypt and Japan
In our globalized world, the flow of people, ideas, and money has become quicker. Multinational and global projects can expand their businesses beyond national borders easier than before. Working with people from various cultural backgrounds has become more common, from which new challenges arise. Thus, a global expansion means adaptation and customization are essential to be accepted by the new host countries. During this recontextualization and re-localization process, many businesses fail due to the lack of cross-cultural competence (CC), the inability to interact effectively with people of different cultures, and poor international expatriates’ communication skills. These attracted researchers to study Toyota and Kaizen from different perspectives other than business and management systems. Such as culture, history, and communication perspectives, affect people’s mindsets and communication. As opposed to the previous research, this research focuses on Kaizen and communication in international business from a cultural perspective. This study highlights the communication challenges that emerge from the cultural differences when recontextualizing Kaizen in Egypt. This research is a culture in business research. It is a baseline research that aims to know how the troubles and conflicts derived from non-verbalized parts can be verbalized by keeping a record and documenting the current situation in Egypt. The author used qualitative methods with a combination of literature analysis of Kaizen, cross-cultural competence research as secondary data, and analysis of in-depth, open-ended interviews that were conducted in Egypt and Japan as primary data. To clarify the communication patterns and suggest how to achieve cross-cultural competence in Toyota Motor Engineering Egypt (TMEE) and Kaizen Center in Egypt. This research tries to draw a communication or/and a cultural map to explain the cultural background and meaning of the communication patterns between Egyptians and Japanese. To help the involved parties reduce the miscommunication gap and maximize collaboration through their work experiences.doctoral thesi
The parliamentarians from the perspective of a journalist with experience studying in the United States : political activities of Seki Wachi against the Anti-Japan exclusion movement
This paper clarifies the activities and ideas of politicians working on the issue of the Anti-Japan Exclusion Movement. To illustrate, we focus on SEKI Wachi, a journalist who earned a degree in the United States and then acted as a lawmaker in the House of Representatives in the 1910s and 20s. Financial poverty forced him to work while studying abroad, giving him an upclose view of the various strata of American society. After returning to Japan, he worked as an editor for the newspapers Yorozu Choho and the Tokyo Mainichi Shimbun. In 1909, he became a member of the House of Representatives. He organized a consultation meeting with NAKANO Takenaka and others to oppose the California Alien Land Law. In addition, he engaged in other concrete political activities, such as forming the Japanese-American Section in the Inter-Parliamentary Union with American delegates at the 18th Conference. He emphasized that it is important to focus on the emotional differences between the people of the two countries in order to deepen mutual understanding.論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape

Effects of individual differences in emotion estimation based on music and EEG
Emotion recognition using electroencephalogram (EEG) has been paid much attention based on various machine learning techniques. Recognizing emotion is a difficult task due to the non-linear nature of the EEG signal. In this study, we propose a regression model for emotion estimation using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). Using EEG open data set, DEAP, we verify that the proposed method slightly improved the performance by incorporating regularization terms. We also observed that the performance is different in each individual. The proposed method is a general model but would enhance the performance by incorporating individual differences.departmental bulletin pape
