Restriction on Malay Traditional Food Practices
This study attempted to recognize factors restrict young generations to practice Malay traditional festive foods. The study employs the observation method to tap into the actual food preparation process of the Malay festive celebration. Limited knowledge and skills of Malay traditional food and lack of family support the factors that identified to restrict young generation to practice Malay traditional festive foods
Efficacy and Decisional Balance to Intervene
Previous studies have shown the rate of domestic violence towards women in Indonesia is increasing. Researches in the field have found that one of the most effective ways to prevent the violence was the bystander. To understand the characteristics of bystander in the sample of teenager in Indonesia, this study seeks to determine the relationship between efficacy and Decisional Balance and likelihood to intervene. The result showed that there is a significant correlation between bystander efficacy and tendency to intervene, yet no empirical support for Decisional Balance
Simulation Model for Improving a Hospital
This article presents a method for design of improving medical record area in OPD of a governmental hospital case study, Mahasarakham Hospital, Thailand. By using a simulation model which is Petri Nets model for simulating and analysis of coming patients and their relatives in the hospital case study during 6:30-16:00 of the working days. The results found the application was applicable. Recommendations for the design of improving the waiting area case study were discussed and presented in this research
Community-Based Projects in Nigeria
Experiences in the application of the community-based model for improving the quality of life of poor communities have reported improvement regarding project performance. However, most studies placed emphasis on the overall performance determined at the general level. For this reason, the findings do not allow for an adequate understanding of the explanatory factors for the success or failure of the projects. The objective of this paper is to provide the description of modern communal mosque in Muslim and non-Muslim countries. Comparative study will help to understand the modern mosques development and fulfil the desire of the Muslim community to produce a sustainable environment. Qualitative research, text interpretation, and observation are used to introduce new recommendations for future communal mosque design
Barriers of Occupation-based Intervention
A Delphi study with three rounds of inquiry was conducted to identify the barriers of implementing Occupation-based Intervention (OBI) in Malaysia. Fifteen occupational therapy practitioners and educators consented and completed all the Delphi rounds. The first Delphi round began with an open-ended questionnaire asking the participants a broad question on barriers for applying OBI into clinical practice. Data was qualitatively analysed to develop statements about the barriers of applying OBI were grouped under five categories. In the second and third round, the participants were asked to rank their agreement with the statements about the barriers in applying OBI. Twenty-seven statements finally achieved the consensus level
Functional Performance from the Perspective of Building Management Team
Maintaining the functional performance of historical buildings is challenging. This study seeks to understand the perceptions of building management team towards the functional performance of post-occupancy evaluation.A semi-structured interview was conducted with 24 respondents from building management team. The study found that the three highest criteria for the score of importance and applicability were comfort, safety and services. This study will benefit professionals and participants in the industry who have the interest in improving functional performance in building management of historical government building
The Guidance Layer of the Cul-de-sac Courtyard Physical Environment Evaluation Toolkit (CPEET)
The environment-behaviour of a cul-de-sac courtyard poses an array of intriguing questions, both qualitatively and quantitatively. In establishing a systematic and reliable evaluation of these micro-neighbourhoods, a sequence of procedural best practices of an evaluation toolkit was introduced. Documenting measurable evidences as well as illustrating the anecdotal nature of a cul-de-sac courtyard requires specific and duplicable chronicling processes. The Cul-de-sac Courtyard Physical Environment Evaluation Toolkit (CPEET), adapted appropriately from AEDET Evolution and ASPECT, became the foundation of the toolkit
