    Get PDF
This paper relates to a wearable non-invasive photoacoustic blood glucose monitor with a display, control buttons, controller, battery and measurement box in a wearable housing. The wearable case is fitted with a strap that is worn on the wrist of the person being tested. The photoacoustic excitation source and the optical lens system produce a focused laser beam that passes through the hollow multi-ring array sensor and is directed towards the blood vessels in the wrist to achieve continuous A-shaped dynamic focus scanning photoacoustic glucose detection, providing photoacoustic glucose results at multiple sites in the depth direction of the wrist. This paper has the advantages of being compact, portable, easy to operate, enabling real-time monitoring of photoacoustic glucose, non-invasive during testing, eliminating the need to extract blood and provide test strips, and avoiding cross-contamination and environmental effects

Objective To analyze the correlation between agricultural injuries and quality of life among rural residents in Hainan Province, and to provide a scientific basis for agricultural injury prevention in Hainan. Methods Using a multi-stage random sampling method, one city (county) was randomly selected in each of the five directions of Hainan: east, south, west, north and central. 1-2 towns (townships) were selected in each of the selected cities (counties), then 5-10 natural villages were selected in each town, and 20-30 households were randomly selected in each village (neighbourhood committee) to conduct a face-to-face survey of all permanent residents aged 15 or above in the selected households. Results In both the no agricultural injury group and the group with agricultural injury, there were statistically significant differences (P<0.05) in the six dimensions of Physical Functioning, Role-Physical, Bodily Pain, General Health, Social Functioning and Role-Emotional and in the total score between the two groups, all with the no agricultural injury group scoring higher than the agricultural injury group. The incidence of agricultural injuries showed an overall decreasing trend as the quality of life score increased (P<0.05). Conclusion The incidence of agricultural injuries among rural residents in Hainan is related to the quality of life, and relevant measures should be taken to reduce the incidence of agricultural injuries and improve the quality of life of rural residents in Hainan

The Role of the Pro-Apoptotic Protein Bax in Colon Cancer

    Get PDF
Bax is a pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family that plays a crucial role in the regulation of apoptosis. Bax can be activated by various stimuli and translocate to the mitochondria, where it induces cytochrome c release and caspase activation. Bax expression or activity can be altered in colon cancer cells, resulting in resistance to apoptosis and tumor progression. This article summarized the molecular mech-anisms of Bax activation and function in apoptosis, the alterations of Bax expression or activity in colon cancer cells, and the potential thera-peutic implications of targeting Bax or its regulators in colon cancer

    Get PDF
Objective: Several emerging periodontal disease treatment strategies were emphasized, aiming to regulate the host immune response through host mediated therapy, which has shown good results in controlling inflammation and promoting periodontal tissue regeneration. Targeted antibacterial therapy, utilizing novel antibacterial drugs targeting periodontal pathogens, has been proven to be effective in reducing bacterial burden and improving clinical parameters. Methods: To conduct in-depth research on the pathogenesis of periodontal disease, discuss the interaction between periodontal health and overall condition, review current treatment methods, and explore promising translational research results, providing new methods for the management of periodontal disease. Results: Animal models play a key role in understanding the complex pathogenesis of periodontal disease and evaluating potential therapeutic interventions. These models allow for investigating disease mechanisms, evaluating treatment efficacy, and exploring safety profiles. By replicating various aspects of periodontal disease in animal models, such as inflammation, alveolar bone loss, and tissue regeneration, valuable insights into disease progression and treatment responses can be obtained. Conclusion: The research on the transformation from animal models to human applications is crucial for developing treatment strategies for periodontal disease. The integration of these emerging methods, including host regulated therapy, targeted antibacterial therapy, tissue engineering, and immunotherapy interventions, has the potential to fundamentally change clinical practice and improve patient prognosis. Further research, including carefully designed clinical trials, is necessary to verify the safety, effectiveness, and long-term effectiveness of these new treatment strategies

Multiple Linear Regression Model of Blood Oxygen Saturation

    Get PDF
We used standardized regression analysis to analyze the influence of age and recent smoking status on blood oxygen saturation. We found that blood oxygen saturation was negatively correlated with age and recent smoking status, but whether smoking had a greater influence on blood oxygen saturation than age. In order to further explore whether age and recent smoking status could jointly affect oxygen saturation of blood, we used k-means clustering algorithm and took age as the control variable to conduct clustering analysis. Is obtained by polynomial fitting, and then the blood oxygen saturation under all ages about age, smoking status of recent expression of partial derivatives of recent smoking status, get the following conclusion: smoking is oxygen desaturation, and compared with the young, the elderly smoking more effect on the blood oxygen saturation degree, are more likely to suffer from cardiovascular disease. When the regression results were tested for significance, the significance of all variables was investigated, and it was found that only age and current smoking status were significant for oxygen saturation, while BMI and gender showed no difference from zero in T test, indicating that oxygen saturation was not affected by BMI and gender. Then, taking oxygen saturation as the dependent variable and age and current smoking status as independent variables, the spline interpolation method with the best fitting effect was found, and its expression was given in the text

Objective: To understand the willingness of Chinese residents to choose between Chinese and Western medicine in the face of sudden outbreak, this study aims to investigate and analyze the willingness and factors influencing Chinese residents (taking Zhejiang Province as an example) to choose between Chinese and Western medicine under the new coronavirus pandemic. Methods: The present study performed a large-scale cross-sectional online survey among 666 random residents in Zhejiang Province. We used questionnaires to investigate the feedback form from residents seeking medical care. In addition, a multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the influence of gender, education, medical reimbursement, and age on the choice of Chinese and Western medicine. Results: Among the patients with mild disease, 55.9% patients chose traditional Chinese medicine, while 44.1% chose Western medicine. Moreover, the proportion of patients with severe diseases who chose traditional Chinese medicine was 7.0%, while the rate of Western medicine was 93.0%. Among the patients suffering from mild diseases, the proportion of men who chose traditional Chinese medicine (46.2%) was lower than that of women (53.8%). The usage of Chinese medicine was preferred among residents of all ages, income levels, and educational backgrounds. A total of 93.0% of patients who chose Western medicine for treatment were severely ill, and the residents with severe diseases preferred Western medicine to Chinese medicine. People with high education and young were more inclined toward Western medicine for treatment compared with Chinese medicine. It was noted that people paid most attention to the medical insurance reimbursement ratio, followed by the distance between the medical institution and the place of residence. Conclusion: The acceptance of Chinese medicine among patients has generally increased; however, gender, educational background, and income still exert a great influence on the choice between Chinese and Western medicine
