Constraints on new physics with light mediators and generalized neutrino interactions via coherent elastic neutrino nucleus scattering
We investigate new physics effects on coherent elastic neutrino nucleus scattering within the framework of nonstandard interactions and generalized neutrino interactions. Additionally, we examine the possibility of light mediators from a simplified model that includes all possible Lorentz-invariant interactions of vector, axialvector, scalar, pseudoscalar, and tensor types. Constraints and allowed regions at the 90% CL for masses and couplings in each new physics scenario have been obtained through the analysis of TEXONO data, which includes two datasets from a high-purity n-type point contact germanium detector in 2016 and an advanced p-type point contact Ge detector in 2025. The results are presented in comparison with other reactor and accelerator-based neutrino experiments for complementarity
A group of companies, which is regulated for the first time in Turkish law under the TCC No. 6102, consists of the controlling company and the companies that are directly or indirectly affiliated to it in the actual or contractual manner stipulated by law. One of the provisions regarding the group of companies regulated under Art. 195 et seq. of the TCC is the notification, registration and announcement obligations. As a result of the increase or decrease of the percentage of shares at the rates specified in the law, obligations are imposed on the persons listed in the law, but they must be fulfilled within the period specified in the law. must be fulfilled. Failure to fulfil these obligations may result in the freezing of shares and certain administrative fines. In this study, in order to provide a better understanding of the subject matter, the general information is explained in general terms and the issues relating to these obligations are analysed under separate headings
Clinicopathological features and treatment outcomes of patients with fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma: a retrospective multicenter study
BACKGROUND: Fibrolamellar Hepatocellular Carcinoma (FLHCC) is a rare primary livertumour that is distinct from conventional HCC in both histopathological and clinical features. There is no clear consensus on its treatment. OBJECTIVE: Assess the demographics, prognosis, and treatment- particularly systemic therapies-of FLHCC patients across multiple centers in T & uuml;rkiye. DESIGN: Retrospective SETTINGS: Multicenter PATIENTS AND METHODS: Patients with histopathological diagnosis of pure fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Treatment responses of metastatic stage patients were evaluated. Progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) analyses of metastatic stage first-line treatments were performed. SAMPLE SIZE: 39 patients with FLHCC RESULTS: The 5-year survival for all patients was 48%, 80% in stage 1, 57% in stage 2, 53% in stage 3 and 0% in stage 4. The median PFS for chemotherapy (n=10) and sorafenib (n=6) patients in the metastatic stage first series was 5.7 months and 2.8 months, respectively (P=.031). Median OS was 12.1 months for chemotherapy and 8.8 months for sorafenib (P=.853) in the metastatic stage. CONCLUSION: Conventional chemotherapies, especially gemcitabine and oxaliplatin combination can be used as systemic treatment options. Immunotherapies, chemoimmunotherapy and immunotherapy plus anti vascular endothelial growth factor combinations may be considered by clinicians. LIMITATIONS: Small sample size and the variability of the treatmen

Exploration of Dithiocarbamate-Linked Kojic Acid–Piperazine Hybrids: Synthesis, Characterization, and Biological Screening
Developing drug candidates with multiple mechanisms of action is a strategy to overcome drug resistance, the main obstacle in effectively treating infections. This study focused on the design and synthesis of hybrid compounds containing kojic acid scaffold and substituted phenylpiperazine groups linked via a dithiocarbamate moiety. Structural elucidation was achieved using spectroscopic techniques and elemental analysis. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) analysis and density functional theory (DFT)-based geometry optimization were performed. Antimicrobial activities were assessed against bacteria and fungi through disk diffusion and microdilution techniques. Their influence on biofilm production was measured spectrophotometrically. Additionally, the antioxidant potential was screened using the 2,2’-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS+) radical decolorization assay and the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay. According to bioactivity results, compound 3—named (5-hydroxy-4-oxo-4H-pyran-2-yl)methyl 4-(3-chlorophenyl)piperazine-1-carbodithioate—exhibited the most potent antifungal activity against clinical isolates of Candida albicans with a mean minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 64 µg/mL and a mean inhibition zone diameter value of 14–15 mm. Also, compound 4 demonstrated the highest biofilm inhibition rates (70.5%) against C. albicans and displayed strong antioxidant capacity against ABTS+ (IC50 = 8.75 µg/mL). This study's results could help in creating new drug candidates targeting bacterial infections linked to biofilms that require strong antioxidant activity
A 12-Year Clinical Experience with Pilomatrixomas in the Head and Neck Region
Objective: Pilomatrixoma is a superficial, benign skin tumor differentiating from the hair follicle matrix. More than half of these tumors occur in the head and neck region. This study aims to share the clinical experience with patients diagnosed with pilomatrixoma in the head and neck region through surgical excision, to raise awareness of differential diagnosis, and to contribute to the literature. Methods: The data of patients diagnosed with pilomatrixoma through surgical excision in the Otorhinolaryngology Clinic of Dokuz Eylül University Hospital between January 2009 and July 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The demographic data of the patients, presenting complaints, tumor location and pathological size, imaging methods used, surgical procedures performed, and postoperative follow-up characteristics were evaluated. Results: Between January 2009 and July 2021, twelve patients underwent surgery in the clinic and were diagnosed with pilomatrixoma. Seven of these patients were male (58.3%), and 5 were female (41.7%), with a mean age of 23.75 years, and a median age of 15 years. Seven of the twelve patients (58.3%) were under 20. Nine patients presented with a firm, painless mass covered by normal skin in the preauricular region, 2 in the auricle, and 1 in the postauricular region. Conclusion: Pilomatrixoma is a rare condition that should be considered in the differential diagnosis of head and neck masses. The treatment is complete excision of the lesion, as failure to excise it may result in a very low risk of malignant transformation. The importance of complete excision in preventing recurrences should not be overlooked. Keywords: Malherbe epithelioma, pediatric, pilomatrixoma, skin tumor, surgery</p
