Readily Accessible and Brightly Fluorogenic BODIPY/NBD-Tetrazines via SNAr Reactions
We describe SNAr reactions of some commercial amino-tetrazines and halo-dyes, which give efficiently quenched BODIPY/NBD-tetrazines (ΦFl < 0.01) in high yields and, importantly, with high purities affordable via simple silica gel chromatography only. The dyes exhibit large Stokes shifts, moderate environmental sensitivity, and emission enhancements (up to 193-fold) upon Tz ligation with BCN─a strained dienophile. They successfully serve as labels for HSA protein premodified with BCN, resulting in bright blue-green emission upon ligation
Siyah Alaca ineklerde buzağılama sonrası vücut kondisyonu ile döl verim özellikleri arasındaki ilişkiler
Bu çalışmada, 55 baş Siyah Alaca ırkı inekte buzağılama sonrası vücut kondisyonu ile döl verim özellikleri arasındaki ilişkiler incelenmiştir. İnekler, vücut kondisyon puanlarına (VKP) göre birinci (VKP<3) ve ikinci grup (VKP≥3) olmak üzere iki gruba ayrılmıştır. Birinci ve ikinci inek gruplarında buzağılama sonrası 1. aydaki vücut kondisyon puanı (BS1: 2.82, 3.36); buzağılama sonrası 5. aydaki vücut kondisyon puanı (BS5: 3.21, 3.57); kuru dönem ile buzağılama sonrası ilk 1. ay arasındaki vücut kondisyon puanındaki düşüş (DÜŞÜŞ: 1.23, 0.80), laktasyonun 1. ve 5. ay arasındaki vücut kondisyon puanındaki artış (ARTIŞ1: 0.39, 0.21); laktasyonun 1. ve 7. ay arasındaki vücut kondisyon puanındaki artış (ARTIŞ2: 0.93, 0.64) ve gruplar arasındaki farklılıklar istatistiki olarak önemli (p<0.05) bulunmuştur. Birinci ve ikinci grup ineklerde ilk kızgınlık süresi (İKS), servis periyodu (SP), gebelik başına tohumlama sayısı (GBTS) ve ilk tohumlamada gebe kalma oranı (İTGKO) sırasıyla; 43.55, 38.30 gün; 88.83, 77.31 gün; 2.21, 1.73 adet ve %54.88, %69.87 olarak belirlenmiştir. Buzağılama sonrası 1. aydaki vücut kondisyon puanı (BS1) ile kuru dönem ve buzağılama sonrası 1. ay arasındaki VKP’deki düşüş (DÜŞÜŞ) ile İKS, GBTS, İTGKO, SP ve GKO60 (buzağılama sonrası 60. günde gebe kalma oranı) arasında negatif yönde önemli korelasyonlar tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları, buzağılama sırasında orta düzeyde vücut kondisyonuna sahip olan ineklerde döl verim performansının daha iyi durumda olduğunu ortaya koymuştur.In this study, the relationships between post-calving body condition and reproductive characteristics were investigated in 55 Holstein Friesian cows. Cows were divided into two groups according to their body condition scores (BCS) as the first (BCS<3) and the second group (BCS≥3). In the first and second cow groups, body condition score at 1st month after calving (BS1: 2.82, 3.36), body condition score at 5th month after calving (BS5: 3.21, 3.57), decrease in body condition score between dry period and calving at the 1th month after postpartum period (DECREASE: 1.23, 0.80), increase in body condition score between 1st and 5th months of lactation (INCREASE1: 0.39, 0.21) and the increase in body condition score between the 1st and 7th months of lactation (INCREASE2: 0.93, 0.64), and differences were found to be statistically significant (p<0.05). In the first and second group cows, the period of first heat (ICS), the period of service (SP), the number of inseminations per pregnancy (GBTS) and the rate of conception at the first insemination (ITCR), were found to be 43.55, 38.30 days; 88.83, 77.31 days; 2.21, 1.73 and 54.88%, 69.87%, respectively. Significant and negative correlations were found between body condition score at 1st month post calving (BS1) and decrease in body condition score in the 1st month between dry period and post calving (DECREASE) and BCSs and ICS, GBTS, ITGCR, SP, and GKO60 (pregnancy rate on the 60th day post calving). The results of the study revealed that during calving, cows with moderate body condition had better reproductive performance

Effects of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG)disclosures on ESGscores: Investigating therole ofcorporategovernance forpubliclytraded Turkishcompanies
The world has experienced climate-related issues, which increase the importance of ESG disclosures and corporate governance (CG) of companies, which take place at the heart of economies. Therefore, improving ESG disclosures and CG practices becomes significant to combat climate change at the company level. Considering that Türkiye restructured ESG disclosures in 2022, this study investigates the role of CG on the nexus between ESG scores of publicly traded companies (PTC) and ESG reports. So, the study analyzes 102 PTC (full sample), 51 PTC in Borsa Istanbul Corporate Governance Index (in-sample), and the remaining 51 PTC (out-sample) using ESG disclosures of 2022 and applying novel super learner (SL) algorithm. Our results show that (i) SL has a higher prediction performance reaching ∼94.3%; (ii) the environment (governance) layer has the highest (lowest) total relative importance (contribution) to ESG scores in all samples; (iii) C8, S6, and E5 are the most important ESG principles in the full sample, in-sample, and out-sample, respectively; (iv) the contribution of each ESG principles to the total ESG scores varies by sample; (v) CG plays a smoothing role for the relative importance of each ESG principle, while the relative importance in the out-sample shows much higher volatility. Overall, the study reveals the non-linear contributions of ESG principles on ESG scores and suggests that PTC should prioritize highly important ESG principles, consider the moderating role of CG on the link between ESG scores and ESG disclosures, and use ESG disclosures as a strategic tool to develop ESG scores and disclosures
Konuşma Becerisiyle İlgili Atasözleri Üzerine Bir İçerik Analizi
Konuşma becerisi açısından atasözlerini incelemeyi amaçlayan bu çalışma, nitel araştırma yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın veri setini Ömer Asım Aksoy’un Atasözleri Sözlüğü oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada veriler doküman incelemesi tekniğiyle toplanmış ve içerik analizi tekniğiyle analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda konuşma becerisiyle ilgili 189 atasözü ve bu atasözüne ilişkin 4 tema ile 32 kategori belirlenmiştir. Buna göre atasözlerinin 105’i konuşmacı, 21’i dinleyici, 56’sı mesaj ve 7’si geri bildirim temasıyla ilgilidir. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlardan hareketle en çok konuşmacı ve mesaj temasına yönelik atasözlerinin bulunduğu ve bu atasözlerinde özellikle konuşma-düşünme ilişkisi, konuşmanın gizliliği, yer-zaman uygunluğu, söz-eylem ilişkisi, sözün işlevselliği, üslup, tutarlılık ve doğruluk gibi kategorilerin ön plana çıktığı tespit edilmiştir. Konuşma becerisine ilişkin atasözleri konuşma sürecinde konuşmacının, dinleyicinin, mesajın ve geri bildirimin sahip olması gereken özelliklere yönelik iletiler içermektedir
Determination of chemical compositions of rosemary and sweet marjoram essential oils and their blends and their antifungal potential against potato rubbery rot disease agent Geotrichum candidum
In this study, the chemical compositions of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis Spenn.) and sweet marjoram (Origanum majorana L.) essential oils, both individually and in various blend ratios, were investigated by using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. Their antifungal activities were also determined against the potato rubbery rot disease agent, Geotrichum candidum, under in vitro and in vivo conditions. Camphor (20.69%) and terpinen-4-ol (35.13%) were determined as primary constituents in rosemary and sweet marjoram essential oils, respectively. Sweet marjoram and rosemary essential oils completely inhibited mycelial growth of G. candidum at 55.0 and 65.0 µL/Petri concentrations, respectively. Essential oils at these concentrations were found as fungicidal. Notably, a synergistic fungicidal antifungal effects were also observed in essential oil blends. Blend of sweet marjoram and rosemary essential oil in a 3:1 ratio (O75R25) significantly enhanced antifungal activity at the relatively lower concentration (45.0 µL/Petri). Microscopic observations revealed structural deformations in exposed hyphae, including cytoplasmic coagulation and vacuolization. Essential oil blend (O75R25), sweet marjoram and rosemary essential oils completely inhibited the disease lesion caused by G. candidum on potato tubers at concentrations of 100.0, 125.0, and 150.0 µL/L air, respectively. These findings emphasized that essential oil blends of rosemary and sweet marjoram have synergistic antifungal potential and can be used as effective biofungicides against plant fungal diseases
