    Quail carcass quality with Pseudomonas putida bioemulsifier in effervescent tablet form through drinking water

    This study aims to determine the effect of adding effervescent bioemulsifier tablets from Pseudomonas putida through drinking water on the quality of broiler quail carcasses. This study used 200 male Golden Quails, divided into 4 treatments and 5 replications, each consisting of 10 quails. The treatments included T0, which was the control drinking water without any bioemulsifier, and T1, T2, and T3, which were supplemented with 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 g of bioemulsifier/L of drinking water, respectively. The parameters that were observed included the carcass percentage, the physical quality of the carcass, and the amount of abdominal fat in the broiler quail. The experiment was carried out from week 3 to week 5. The experiment used a completely randomised design (CRD), if significantly different, and continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results of this study showed that the addition of bioemulsifier in effervescent form through drinking water in broiler quail was significantly different (P<0.05) on the percentage of carcass and pH value of meat. The conclusion of this study is that the addition of effervescent bioemulsifier tablets to drinking water has an effect on increasing the carcass percentage and pH value of broiler quail

    Hubungan Kekurangan Energi Kronis dan Asupan Zat Besi dengan Kejadian Anemia pada Ibu Hamil Di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Bungatan

    Anemia merupakan kondisi dimana kadar haemoglobin (Hb) dalam darah lebih rendah dari nilai normalnya (11mg/dl). Prevalensi anemia di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan dari  37,1% pada tahun 2013 menjadi 48,9%  pada tahun 2018 dan prevalensi  anemia di kabupaten Situbondo sebesar  27%.  Beberapa factor yang mepengaruhi kejadian anemia pada ibu hamil antara lain kekurangan energi kronis dan asupan  zat besi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan kekurangan energi kronis dan zat besi dengan kejadian anemia pada ibu hamil di wilayah kerja puskesmas bungatan. Jenis penelitian ini bersifat analitik observasional dengan desain penelitian cross sectional. Jumlah subjek penelitian sebanyak 79 responden. Pengumpulan data menggunakan easy touch, pita lila, dan kuisioner recall. Analisis statistic menggunakan menggunakan SPSS 25.0 dengan uji pearson apabila data berdistribusi normal dan uji spearman apabila data berdistribusi tidak normal. Hasil penelitia menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kekurangan energi kronis dengan kejadian anemia pada ibu hamil (p=0,000) dan terdapat  hubungan yang signifikan antara asupan zat besi denga kejadian anemia pada ibu hamil  (p=0,000).     This community service activity aims to develop a laundry service business as an effort to improve services and economic added value at the TEFA Integrated Hotel of Politeknik Negeri Jember. The development of a laundry service business is considered very important because Politeknik Negeri Jember or Polije is a vocational university with BLU (Public Service Agency) status where Polije must provide services to the community in the form of providing goods and / or services that are sold without prioritizing profit and in carrying out its activities based on the principles of efficiency and productivity. This business development is expected to make a significant contribution to the quality of service at the TEFA Integrated Hotel Polije and can improve the economic welfare of business actors and the surrounding community. Methods for implementing this community service activity include three stages, namely the planning, the implementation, and the evaluation stages. These three stages were detailed more into the stage of needs analysis, the implementation of visits to laundry services, the provision of tools and the latest technology in laundry services, as well as evaluation. Additionally, this community service activity also included assistance in terms of business management, marketing, and effective customer service. Based on the implementation of this community service activity, it is expected that the laundry service business at the TEFA Integrated Hotel Polije will experience an improvement in service quality and better economic benefits, which in turn will have a positive impact toward the campus community and its surroundings

    Pisang roid lokal merupakan tanaman yang banyak dikembangkan produk turunannya oleh masyarakat di daerah kecamatan Jatigede. Terdapat kendala dalam perbanyakan tanaman pisang roid lokal yang dilakukan secara konvensional seperti ketersediaan bibit berkualitas unggul. Dengan demikian, diperlukan alternatif perbanyakan bibit unggul yang dapat dilakukan dengan perbanyakan kultur jaringan. Perbanyakan kultur jaringan memungkinkan perbanyakan bibit pisang dengan pertumbuhan cepat dengan seragam dan tahan terhadap hama dan penyakit. Akan tetapi, saat ini wawasan tentang teknik kultur jaringan yang baik masih terbatas. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan suatu kegiatan pendampingan dan pelatihan agar perbanyakan pisang dapat dilakukan melalui kultur jaringan. Kerjasama dengan kelompok pemuda di Jatigede yaitu Binaraja Millennials Smart Farming (BMSF) juga diperlukan mengingat terdapat visi yang sama untuk memberdayakan generasi muda, regenerasi petani serta menciptakan pertanian yang berkelanjutan. Kolaborasi perlu menekankan sinergi dari komunitas, pemerintah, industri dan bisnis untuk memastikan tercapainya tujuan bersama yang berkelanjutan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini di antaranya: (1) memiliki mitra yang paham mengenai kultur jaringan pisang baik secara teoritis maupun praktis, (2) tersedianya koleksi plasma nutfah tanaman pisang roid in vitro sebagai tanaman indukan, dan (3) diperolehnya metode kultur jaringan pisang roid yang efektif dan efisien

    Body composition of Thin-Tailed Sheep fed with Carica seed supplementation (Carica pubescens)

    The evaluation of Carica seed supplementation in feed was carried out to assess its effect on sheep body composition such as water, fat, and protein, using the urea space method which is one method of determining the body composition of livestock without cutting. The study involved 15 male thin-tailed sheep aged 3 months with an average initial body weight of 10.68±1.28 kg, using a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments: 5% (T1), 12.5% (T2), and 20% (T3) carica seed supplementation, with five replicates each. The observed parameters included feed intake, daily weight gain, as well as water, fat, and protein content in the body. ANOVA analysis at a 5% significance level revealed that different concentrations of Carica seed significantly affected (P<0.05) crude protein intake, daily weight gain, and body protein composition at week 11. The sheep in the T3 treatment showed the crude protein consumption and daily body weight gain as well as a significant increase in body protein composition compared to the other treatments. Overall, Carica seed supplementation led to a significant increase in body protein content, while having no significant effect on body fat and water composition

    Diet formulation using distiller dried grain solubles with different levels on performance of laying chicken growers

    This study aims to determine the performance of laying hens in the grower phase that are given formulated feed treatment using distiller dried grain solubles (DDGS) at different levels. The research materials are 72 New Lohman Brown strain DOC chickens, and basal feed. The experimental design used a completely randomized design with a one-way pattern with 4 treatments and 3 replications, each treatment group consisting of 6 chickens. Feed treatments consisted of (T1) 0% DDGS formula feed (T2) 10% DDGS formula feed, (T3) 20% DDGS formula feed and (T4) 30% DDGS formula feed. The research variables were feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio of laying hens. Data analysis using analysis of variance (ANOVA) to determine the level of significance at the standard of 0.05. then continued with Duncan multiple range test (DMRT) analysis. The results of the study showed that the provision of DDGS at various levels did not affect the performance of laying hens in the grower phase. The conclusion of the study is that the provision of destillers dried grains soluble up to a level of 30% in the basal feed formulation is able to maintain feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio of laying hens in the grower phase

    Limousin cattle production performance and farmer income post-FMD fed with super booster and immunobooster concentrate

    This study aims to evaluate the administration of super booster, and immunobooster concentrates on production performance and farmers' income following an outbreak of foot and mouth disease (FMD) by proving the improvements in production performance, including feed consumption, weight gain, and revenue of crossbred Limousin cattle farmers. This study used 18 male Limousin crossbred cattle selected based on age (1.5-2 years) and having been infected with FMD virus that is divided into three treatments: T0 (control feed consisting of forage and local concentrate), T1 (control feed + 40 g of a super booster), and T2 (control feed + 600 g of immunobooster concentrate). Data collection and observation were conducted over 42 days. Statistical analysis was performed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) based on the completely randomized design (CRD), followed by Duncan’s multiple range test (DMRT). The results of the variance analysis showed a p-value of <0.05, indicating that the addition of super booster and immunobooster can improve feed consumption, body weight gain, and increase farmers income in crossbred Limousin cattle farming following an outbreak of FMD, so that it can be used as an alternative step in overcoming post-FMD losses and helping farmers maximize profits

    Enhancing MSME marketing through creative digital content development in Bondowoso, Indonesia

    This study addresses the challenges faced by four food-based Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bondowoso, Indonesia—namely Ila Snack Bondowoso, Rien’s Kitchen, Tahu Sutrisno, and Kripik Ayu—in developing effective digital marketing content. Limited digital skills and resources hinder their ability to promote their products and reach broader audiences. To address this, the research employed the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) to create high-quality promotional videos tailored to the needs of these MSMEs. These videos, featuring company profiles and product highlights, were crafted using professional-grade tools and enhanced with voiceovers to meet industry standards. The videos adhered to the AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) model, ensuring effective audience engagement and action-driven messaging. Expert validation and field testing confirmed their effectiveness, while consumer feedback indicated a positive impact on purchasing decisions. This research highlights the potential of creative digital content to empower MSMEs, enhance product visibility, and strengthen market competitiveness. The findings provide a replicable framework for supporting small enterprises globally, underscoring the critical role of digital innovation in driving inclusive economic growth and cultural preservation

    An essential oil distillator consists of a distillation kettle, condenser, cooling water tank, and separating funnel. The design of this tool aims to create an essential oil distillation machine that can be used as a learning tool in practicums, research and community service. The research method used is research and development consisting of design, manufacture, testing of tool performance and testing of essential oil quality. The essential oil distillation procedure in this study is the steam method. The materials used are eucalyptus leaves and twigs, citronella leaves, and kaffir lime leaves and twigs. The performance testing of the tool carried out consists of distillation rate, essential oil yield, distillation process temperature, physical properties of materials, fuel consumption, cooling water performance, and fuel consumption efficiency. Testing of the quality of the essential oil produced consists of odor, color, refractive index, specific gravity, and substance content tests through GCMS tests. This tool was successfully made and produced eucalyptus, citronella, and kaffir lime essential oils. The yield of essential oil of citronella leaves was 0.208%, eucalyptus leaves 0.37%, and kaffir lime leaves 0.575%. Meanwhile, the test results for the specific gravity of essential oil of citronella leaves were 0.8712, eucalyptus leaves 0.9130, and kaffir lime leaves 0.8528. The test results for the refractive index of essential oil of citronella leaves were 1.475, eucalyptus leaves 1.489, and kaffir lime leaves 1.448. The distillation rate of essential oils produced was 0.00249 kg/hour (eucalyptus leaves), 0.00272 kg/hour (lemongrass leaves), and 0.00828 kg/hour (kaffir lime leaves). The average energy efficiency of the distillation equipment produced was 48.79%

    This study aims to improve or optimize the performance of the homogenizer in homogenizing seed samples and facilitate its operational performance so that the results obtained are in accordance with the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA). The homogenizer uses a mechanical transmission that includes a belt transmission from the power source to the gearbox, while from the gearbox to the drum/container using a chain transmission that produces a more stable drum rotation and does not slip so that it can maximize the function of the homogenizer. The addition of inlet holes and exit holes facilitates the operation of the homogenizer. This tool modification increases ergonomic value and supports tool optimization. Good homogenizer conditions will provide maximum and good service in the seed quality testing stage, especially compositing/mixing seeds before analysis. So that it will support the smoothness and accuracy of testing and student practicum activities, teaching staff research, and external stakeholders
