Contextual Mapping of Sushruta Samhita Shareera Sthana Within the Framework of Beeja Chatushtaya
Background: The Sushruta Samhita, especially its Shareera Sthana, provides detailed expositions on human anatomy, embryology, pathology, and therapeutic foundations. However, a structured thematic interpretation of this section through classical Ayurvedic frameworks remains underexplored.
Aims: To analyze the Shareera Sthana using the lens of Beeja Chatuṣhṭaya - Puruṣa, Vyadhi, Auṣhadha, and Kriyakala and to establish it as a contextual mapping tool.
Settings and Design: A qualitative research study based on textual analysis of classical Ayurvedic literature.
Materials and Methods: All 441 Shlokas of the ten chapters of Shareera Sthana along with commentaries were reviewed. Each verse was thematically categorized under the four components of Beeja Chatuṣhṭaya.
Statistical Analysis Used: Descriptive statistics were applied to quantify the thematic distribution across the four categories.
Results: Out of 441 verses analyzed, 237 aligned with Puruṣa, 72 with Vyadhi, 46 with Auṣhadha, and 34 with Kriyakala. This indicates a dominant emphasis on Puruṣa, while also incorporating substantial content related to disease processes and therapeutic strategies.
Conclusion: The analysis affirms that Beeja Chatuṣhṭaya serves as a comprehensive framework for interpreting classical texts. It highlights the layered structure of Shareera Sthana, contributing significantly to both philosophical understanding and clinical application in Ayurveda
Review on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - Ayurvedic Review
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a complex neurobehavioral condition predominantly diagnosed in children age of 6 to 12 years, using the DSM-5 criteria. Children\u27s mental health is increasingly becoming a top priority due to the rapid rise in mental illnesses. One such complicated neuro-behavioral illness is attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is characterized by persistent inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, often impacting a child’s ability to focus, follow instructions, or sit still. These behaviours can lead to challenges in academic settings, at home, and in interpersonal relationships. In present period, paediatric clinics increasingly report psychosomatic disorders in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder being notably prevalent. Current treatment in conventional medicine largely depends on presynaptic dopaminergic agonists, offering limited alternative therapies. Behavioural interventions also play a significant role, but they do not address underlying causative factors holistically. Globally, mental health conditions in children have surged, and according to WHO projections, mental disorders were anticipated to rise by 50% by 2020, making them a leading cause of childhood morbidity. From an Ayurvedic perspective, ADHD can be viewed through the lens of Manas Dushti (mental faculty disturbance) and can be aligned with the Lakshanas of Manasa Vikaras. The presentation of symptoms often parallels with Unmad, a prominent Mansik Vyadhi described in classical texts. This condition signifies mental imbalance and erratic behaviour. Ayurveda approaches ADHD as a psychosomatic disorder, emphasizing both physiological and psychological imbalance. Therapeutic strategies aim to restore harmony through Sattvavajaya Chikitsa (mind-control therapy), herbal formulations, dietary regulations, and lifestyle modifications, offering a holistic alternative to modern symptomatic treatments

Ayurvedic novel approach towards global delay in Children
Milestones are the important turning points during the growth journey of a child where the developmental changes like crawling, talking, standing etc. are expected to be happen. Any delay in the developmental changes from the anticipated time can be termed as delayed milestones or developmental delay. In a normally developed child 4 types of skills are expected to be achieved gross motor skills, fine motor skills, cognitive skills, and social skills. Child with global developmental delay is unable to attain developmental milestones owing to brain damage which leads to impairment in gross and fine motor, personal social, speech, and activities of daily living Delay in development of language, thinking, social or motor milestones is called developmental delay. Developmental delays are common in childhood, occurring in 10%–15% preschool children. To avoid long term disability, early detection, and intervention is essential. This paper presents a case report of child aged18 months with delayed developmental milestones functionally rehabilitated with integrated approach Child could not stand with support, could only sit without support at 2 years months of age. Early diagnosis, multidisciplinary approach, and appropriate early intervention are essential for such cases. With integrated treatments of Ayurveda and Physiotherapy the results were encouraging giving the child to attain the milestones
Understanding Dashavidha Atura Pariksha: A Classical Diagnostic Framework in Ayurveda
Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine, is deeply rooted in personalized diagnostics and therapeutic approaches. The Dashavidha Atura Pariksha (Tenfold Patient Examination), as described in Charaka Samhita (Vimana Sthana, Chapter 8), is a comprehensive framework for evaluating an individual’s physical and mental constitution. This method assesses parameters such as Prakriti (innate constitution), Vikriti (current pathological state), Sara (tissue quality), Samhanana (structural integrity), Pramana (anthropometry), Satmya (adaptability), Satva (mental strength), Ahara Shakti (digestive capacity), Vyayama Shakti (exercise capacity), and Vaya (age). These ten diagnostic criteria enable precise disease evaluation and individualized treatment planning. This article provides a critical review of each parameter, highlighting its clinical relevance and parallels with modern diagnostic concepts such as personalized and genomic medicine
Ayurgenomics - A Conceptual Study
Ayurveda, one of the oldest medical systems, provides a detailed and systematic understanding of life processes. The concept of genetics, as described by various ancient Acharyas, is a prominent aspect of Ayurvedic literature. Ayurvedic genetics is an emerging interdisciplinary field that integrates traditional Ayurvedic principles with modern genetic science. In Ayurveda, the concept of Beeja (seed) and related terms in classical texts align with the modern understanding of genes and chromosomes. The foundational principles of inheritance, as described in Ayurvedic texts, can be correlated with contemporary genetic theories. This article aims to systematically compare the genetic concepts outlined in ancient Ayurvedic literature with their modern genetic counterparts, highlighting parallels and potential integrations
Role of Leech therapy in the management of Vyanga w.s.r. to Melasma - A Single Case Study
Vyanga is categorized under Kshudra Rogas and primarily occurs due to the vitiation of Vata, Pitta, and Rakta. It can be correlated with Melasma in terms of its signs and symptoms. A key feature of Vyanga is the presence of Niruja, Tanu, and Shyava Varnayukta Mandala (a type of pigmentation) on the facial area (Mukhapradesha). Melasma is an asymptomatic, acquired, and chronic condition characterized by hyperpigmented macules or patches that develop slowly and symmetrically on areas like the molar region, bridge of the nose, forehead, temples, and upper lips. These patches are typically dark, irregular, sometimes small, and well-demarcated. Brhajaka Pitta, which is responsible for skin coloration, is closely related to the complexion of the skin. Vitiated Pitta Dosha plays an important role in the development of Melasma. The management of this condition should focus on pacifying the aggravated Doshas and promoting Raktashodhana (blood purification or detoxification). Leech Therapy (Jalaukavacharana) is considered a key treatment modality, as it aids in blood purification, removes toxins, and eliminates the vitiated Doshas accumulated in the body. This case study presents a single patient suffering from Melasma, who was selected for the study at Shekhawati Ayurved Medical College & Hospital, Pilani. The efficacy of Leech Therapy was found to be significant, yielding positive results

Management of Luta Visha (Spider Bite Poisoning) with Ayurveda - A Case Report
Agadtantra encompasses the knowledge of various types of Visha (poisons) derived from animals or plants. It provides detailed insights into the origin, classification, symptoms, and management of poisoning caused by the bites of Sarpa (snakes), Mushaka (rodents), Keeta (insects), and Luta (spiders). Acharya Vagbhat classified Lutavisha under Keetavisha (insects) due to its resemblance to insect characteristics. The Dosha Avastha of Luta is predominantly Pittakapha, meaning symptoms associated with Pitta and Kapha Doshas are more prominent. In cases of spider poisoning, the primary symptoms include pain, swelling, itching and erythema. Renowned Ayurvedic scholars like Acharya Sushruta, Acharya Vagbhata, and Acharya Bhava Mishra have extensively discussed Luta Visha (spider venom). Globally, over 40,000 species of spiders have been identified, and although only a few are harmful to humans, spider bites are a common concern. Delay in treatment of venomous bites can lead to severe consequences, including death. Therefore, spider bites, especially in endemic areas, should be addressed promptly and taken seriously. This is a case report of 25 yr old male patient with complaints of Vesicular lesion, pain and burning sensation on the posterior aspect of neck in the last 2 days and he was treated with Dushivishari Agad along with external application of Shatdhaut Ghrita which includes Shothahara (anti-inflammatory), Dahahar (cooling), Vishaghna and Kandughna properties. The symptoms were reduced completely within 7days
