13(-14)th a. One myrtle green large initial ornamented with red hairlines is visible. It opens the great responsory (Produxit deus de humoV Amantissimus) of the I nocturn. Small initials are highlighted with red. Quadratic notation on a red four-line staff (10-11.5 mm), custos, linea (i.e. one or more vertical strokes across the staff), b rotundum. Linefillers (red braid-like ornaments) under melismas. Photograph off. un.'on p. 25. Bears a stylistic resemblance to Antiphoner No. 11.
ANTIPHONARIUM. Except for the collect at vespers, Deus qui unigeniti (ta), the contents of this fragment agree with the late medieval printed breviary of Västerås, Breviarium Arosiense 1513 ff. sanctorale 132'-133'.

13-14th cc. Large initials: 1) blue (various tones), 2) red, and 3) dark green. One twocoloured large initial is also visible, consisting of red and white elements. Small initials are highlighted with red. Quadratic notation on a red four-line staff (14-15 mm), custos, cephalicus. Photograph off. 8'on p. 29. Bears a stylistic resemblance to Antiphoner No. 15, (Franciscan), but there is no reason why Antiphoner No. 39 (Franciscan) could not be work by the same scriptorium.
ANTIPHONARIUM. Franciscan, Breviarium Romanum 1481 passim. The rhymed office for St. Antony of Padua (can. 1232) is considered to be the work of Julian of Speyer (d. ca. 1250), compiled between 1241 and 1249, which provides the terminus a quo. See e.g. Szövérffy 1965 p. 215, especially n. 70. F. 1 [Sabbato in hebdomada I post pascham] beginning with the ant. ad Magnificat, Ego sum pastor ouium; Dominica secunda post pascha ending in alleluiatic abbreviations aevia aevia aev[ia] of the great responsory Locutus est ad. The chant is the 4th one in a series of its kind. F. 2 [In ascensione Domini] beginning eum, the closing word of the 8th chant in a series of responsories, [Ego rogabo V Si enim], and ending in uoce of the short responsory at terce, Ascendit V Et. "S'The order of the great responsories (ten) is stated in roman numerals written in the margin. Other colours of initials are carmine, dark green, light green, red, carnation, light brown, light blue, and ultramarine. These colours appear mainly in a historiated miniature of Christ meeting his disciples on the sliore of Lake Tiberias onf. un.', Biblia sacra 1983 p. 1696. So-called Fliegenfuss notation on a brown five-line staff (17-18 mm), (four-line staff in places, 13 mm). Red lineae here and there. Line-fillers (red braid-like ornaments i under melismas. Auxiliary lineation for the text is exceptionally strong. Quadratic notation on a red four-line staff (11.5 mm), custos, linea, b rotundum. The iucipits of antiphons are indicated by duplex lineae. Photograph off. 2V on p. 92. Schtnid 1964 (b) presents a fragment of an antiphoner on pp. 7 (opposite) and 40, SRA KAANT 2, which has been probably done at the same scriptorium, or perhaps even originates from the same manuscript. The date ofi finishing the copying work, the 28th of September 1411, is written down.

The documents were probably attached to their wrapper in Finland: "förslag" means an unconfirmed calculation, a rough draft, which was taken along by the bailiff when he had to have his taxes audited. ANTIPHONARIUM. Conforms to Dominican use, Breviarium Dominicanum 1485 passim. Concerning the provenance and the date of the original Ms. it is worth noting that St. Sigfrid and St. Vincent OP (can. 1455) are not observed. Note the remark on an inserted paper leaf written by Dr. Haapanen: "Antiphonale Domin-Aboense 14.(-15.) vs.".

A narrow strip of parchment, originally the outer edge off. 3, was previously bound to a now unknown loose-leaf of a missal. According to a note written by Dr. Haapanen this contained taxes of theyear 1600 from Finland.
