Comparation Tidal Harmonic Based on IoT Instrument Using Admiralty Method in Tanjungpinang Waters
Tides are the rising and falling movement of sea level caused by the gravitational force of celestial bodies such as the moon and sun on the mass of seawater on earth. The aim of this research is to compare the use of time series of harmonic constant parameters obtained from tidal data stored in the tool using the admiralty method. Research activities were carried out at the international port of Dompak Island, Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands. This tidal data is analyzed by admiralty. This method is used to analyze harmonic constants and identify patterns and sea level levels. Based on the results obtained, the type of tide in Tanjungpinang waters is a mixed tide (single dominant) with an F value of 2.01 to 2.07. The sea level elevation values "‹"‹obtained (MSL) from each time series ranged from 75.83 cm to 76.60 cm, (MHWL) ranged from 97.17 cm to 98.24 cm. Then (MLWL) ranges from 58.77 cm to 59.39 cm. Meanwhile, (HHWL) ranges from 153.98 cm to 154.73 cm, and (LLWL) ranges from -2.77 cm to -1.96 cm. With a confidence interval of 5 percent, is obtained. The difference in each time series seen from the data (MSL) is 7cm. Therefore, Tidal data from each time series has no significant differences
Breast Cancer Detection using Decision Tree and Random Forest
Cancer is one of the most challenging diseases to cure and is a chronic condition that contributes significantly to global mortality. With advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, AI-integrated systems can provide quick and accurate diagnoses based on collected medical data. By leveraging machine learning techniques, this study aims to compare the performance of two models using the Decision Tree (DT) and Random Forest (RF) algorithms on routine blood test data. The research process involves data preprocessing techniques such as handling missing values, detecting outliers, and feature selection, followed by applying the bootstrap aggregating technique to enhance model performance. Feature selection is used to identify the most significant features in the data that contribute to cancer detection. Using the KBest feature selection technique, the study found that the features age, BMI, leptin, adiponectin, and MCP-1 had the highest correlation with the target variable. The resulting models were evaluated to compare the performance of each algorithm. The evaluation results showed that the RF algorithm outperformed DT, achieving an accuracy of 89.65% on the processed dataset using the bootstrap technique, compared to DT\u27s accuracy of 80.17%. Additionally, the RF algorithm demonstrated superior metric values, including a precision of 91.66% and an F1-score of 87.12%. This study concludes that the RF algorithm is more effective than DT for detecting cancer in limited datasets, especially when used with the bootstrap technique. The findings are expected to support the development of decision support systems in healthcare services for more accurate early cancer detection
Application of the Think Aloud and System Usability Scale (SUS) Methods in Usability Evaluation in Online Transportation Applications for the Elderly
Technological advancements have driven the adoption of online transportation applications by various user groups, including the elderly. However, limitations in cognitive aspects and digital experiences cause barriers to application use. This study was conducted to evaluate the usability of online transportation applications for elderly users using the Think Aloud and System Usability Scale (SUS) methods. The evaluation was carried out through a series of tests with eight elderly respondents to measure effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction. The Think Aloud method was used to explore the experiences and difficulties faced by the elderly on the application interface, respondents verbally expressed their thoughts and feelings during the testing process. The Think Aloud testing process is analyzed to identify the specification of the requirements that form the basis for the redesign of the application. The measurement results showed that the average application effectiveness value increased from 85% in the initial design to 100%. Efficiency values show a significant improvement from the initial design of 73% to 100% in the proposed improvement design. The average SUS score before the improvement was 61.25 in the marginal category, and increased to 81.25 in the acceptable category after the improvement design. The results of this study confirm that optimizing design based on the needs of the elderly can improve the user experience and accessibility of online transportation services
SciBERT Optimisation for Named Entity Recognition on NCBI Disease Corpus with Hyperparameter Tuning
Named Entity Recognition (NER) in the biomedical domain faces complex challenges due to the variety of medical terms and their context of use. Transformer-based models, such as SciBERT, have proven to be effective in natural language processing (NLP) tasks in scientific domains. However, the performance of these models is highly dependent on proper hyperparameter selection. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyse the impact of hyperparameter tuning on the performance of SciBERT in NER tasks on the NCBI Disease Corpus dataset. The methods used in this study include training the baseline SciBERT model without tuning, followed by hyperparameter optimisation using grid search, random search, and bayesian optimisation methods. Model evaluation is done with precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The experimental results showed that of the three methods grid search and random search produced the best performance with a precision, recall and F1-score of 0.82, improving from the baseline which only achieved a precision and recall of 0.72 and F1-score of 0.68. This study confirms that proper hyperparameter tuning can improve model accuracy and efficiency in medical entity extraction tasks. These results contribute to the development of optimisation methods in biomedical text processing, particularly in improving the effectiveness of the SciBERT Transformer model for NER
