The Impact of National Big Data Pilot Zones on the Persistence of Green Innovation: A Moderating Perspective Based on Green Finance
Enhancing the persistence of corporate green innovation is crucial for promoting sustainable societal development. As big data technologies and related policies advance, digitalization emerges as an effective enabler of green innovation in enterprises. This study, grounded in resource-based theory and corporate ecology theory, examines the impact of national-level big data pilot zone reforms on the persistence of corporate green innovation, utilizing data from China’s A-share-listed companies from 2011 to 2021. It also explores the moderating effect of green finance development. Empirical results indicate that (1) the implementation of national-level big data pilot zones positively influences the persistence of green innovation, with robustness and endogeneity tests confirming these findings. (2) The development of regional green finance positively moderates this relationship. (3) A mediation analysis reveals that national-level big data policies enhance innovation persistence by alleviating financing constraints, promoting talent aggregation, and facilitating industrial upgrading. (4) The heterogeneity analysis shows that the positive impact of these reforms is more pronounced in non-state-owned, non-heavy polluting firms, those receiving high subsidies, and in regions with stringent environmental regulations. This study offers a novel theoretical perspective on and empirical evidence for digital transformation from the angle of national policy, supporting societal green development and contributing to policy enhancement aimed at achieving sustainable growth
Moving from ‘Managing Stakeholders’ to ‘Managing for Stakeholders’: The Imperative for Responsible Business
Gone are the days when it was accepted that shareholders were the ones for whose benefit business was done, and that the purpose of business was to maximize returns to shareholders. Today, it is universally accepted that a business has to look beyond maximizing profits. It has to take into account the needs all stakeholders, including the environment. Several frameworks and approaches have been advocated to achieve the objective of optimizing the value of the corporation from multiple angles, including Triple Bottom Line, Responsible Business, Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, etc. At the heart of all these concepts is the issue of being fair to all stakeholders. While Stakeholder Management concepts and theories advocate that the concerns and perspectives of all stakeholders, not just shareholders, be taken into account while business decisions are made, in real-world operations, stakeholder management is done more from the perspective of ‘managing stakeholders’ so that the obstacles to the success of business are reduced, and profits can be maximized. But in the new world, where the world is striving for sustainability keeping environment, society and governance in mind, there needs to be a shift in both mindsets regarding stakeholder management, as well as managerial processes of stakeholder management. The commentary outlines what some of the changes needed are, how some of the process changes can be made, and compares multiple approaches for managing for multiple stakeholders

This paper explores Mary Shelley\u27s Frankenstein as a therapeutic diary through which she processes her losses and traumas. It will draw parallels between Shelley\u27s life experiences: loss of a mother; loss of children; relationships throughout her life and the characters in Frankenstein. These parallels will demonstrate a deep analysis of how her writing had reflected important themes such as mother lessness, abandonment, grief, and isolation. When examining transformations between the different editions the paper argues that Frankenstein is not simply a gothic masterpiece, but it is a path through which Shelley worked to process her inner conflicts that were caused by the tragedies of her life
