    This dataset contains Gaussian DFT output files of the ground-state and transition state DFT optimized structures for the project "Metal-free Direct Electrochemical Deoxygenation of Benzylic Alcohols". Each of the lower level folders contain the output of a frequency calculation at PBE0-D3/def2-TZVP level with SMD(diethylether) solvent model (*freq001.out files). All of the files can be opened in any text editor. Gaussian output structures can be viewed and the frequency modes visualised in GausView, Avogadro, jmol and in most other molecular viewers/editors. Dataset also contains analytical data for compounds reported in the publication "Metal-free Direct Electrochemical Deoxygenation of Benzylic Alcohols". The data is organised into subfolders, which are numbered in accordance with compound numbering in the manuscript and accompanying Supporting Information document. For each compound, raw data for 1H/13C/19F/31P NMR, MS, IR, GC-MS, and Cyclic Voltammetry are included where relevant

    Wound-Healing Biodegradable Microparticles: An In Vitro Investigation

    Wound healing is a complex process that may result in healthy tissue regeneration, but problematic chronic wounds exhibit fibrosis and persistent inflammation. To improve wound outcomes, the application of pro-proliferative polymers as bioresorbable particles was investigated for the first time. The surface of bioresorbable poly (D, L lactic acid) (PDLLA) microparticles are decorated with a pro- and anti-proliferative polymer that adheres to the surface for a minimum of 21 days. Microparticles with a pro-proliferative polymer surface chemistry were shown to increase fibroblast proliferation in vitro by 5-fold % after 48 hours compared to cells without microparticle treatment. The cells are found to move to establish bridges between the microparticles, which facilitate cell elongation and proliferation, accelerating a key stage of the wound healing cycle. Adsorbed proteins were examined using proteomics and unique proteins were found to adhere to microparticles with proliferative surface chemistry. These proteins include annexin, olfactomedin 4 and vimentin, and the roles of these proteins have been highlighted to gain a mechanistic insight into the stimulated proliferative environment causing by the microparticles. The lipid deposition/retention from exposure to culture media of microparticles is investigated by 3D OrbiSIMS and highlights preferential adsorption of lipid, including sterols, fatty acids and sphingolipids, correlates with pro and anti-healing polymers. This mechanistic insight helps advance this technology to address the pressing issue of chronic wound healing.

    Molecular orientation and stratification revealed in RNA-lipid nanoparticles using Cryogenic Orbitrap Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (Cryo-OrbiSIMS)

    Lipid nanoparticle-RNA formulations are used for the delivery of vaccines and other therapies. RNA molecules are encapsulated within their interior through electrostatic interactions with positively charged lipids. The identity of the lipids that present at their surface play a role in how they interact with and are perceived by the body and their resultant potency. To investigate the surface chemistry of two formulations we develop cryogenic sample preparation for transmission electron microscopy (TEM) prior to depth profiling Orbitrap secondary ion mass spectrometry (Cryo-OrbiSIMS). It is found that the depth distribution of individual lipid components is revealed relative to the surface and the RNA cargo defining the core. A preferential lipid orientation can be determined for the 1,2-Dimyristoyl-glycero-3-methox-polyethylene glycol 2000 (DMG-PEG2k) molecule, by comparing the profiles of different fragments from the same molecule, from PEG or DMG. PEG fragments are found at the LNP surface, while the DMG fragments are deeper, coincident with the RNA fragment from the core, in agreement with established models of LNPs. This laboratory-based de novo analysis technique requires no labelling, providing advantages over large facility neutron scattering characterisation

    The educational inclusion of refugees with disabilities in Europe presents a complex and multifaceted challenge that requires a comprehensive and intersectional approach. This report highlights these challenges and identifies where practices and approaches effectively ameliorate these, based on findings from a scoping review. It underscores the importance of recognising the diverse and compounded identities of refugee learners with disabilities, who face unique barriers that intersect across disability, migration, language, and socio-economic status. Overall, the report calls for a comprehensive and intersectional approach to inclusive education for refugees with disabilities, and highlights specific areas of focus for future research, policy, and practice to ensure that these learners receive the support they need and are entitled to, to thrive in their educational journeys
