Developmental Preferences of Final-Year Students in Głogów: Social, Educational, and Economic Priorities
The study identified key challenges and development priorities across social, educational, infrastructural, economic, and administrative domains through non-participant observation and community surveys with quantitative indicators. In the social sphere, the most significant problems were low-quality healthcare services (50.3%), kindergarten shortages (40.7%), and the need for social support centres (35.2%). Educational challenges included shortages of qualified teachers (45%) and poor school facilities (40.7%). Infrastructure priorities were laboratory and workshop professionalisation (49.1%), internet accessibility (46.4%), and sports facility development (40.1%). Observational findings revealed that senior pupils in Głogów prioritised practical career aspects: 62% asked about employment and working conditions, while only 27% discussed global values. Over half (54%) viewed teacher and psychologist consultations positively, though 21% preferred peer or online advice. Students demonstrated pragmatic orientations focused on self-realisation. Results indicated the necessity of an integrated development approach combining social, economic, educational, and infrastructural dimensions with active resident involvement in decision-making. High interest in entrepreneurship (63.7%) and soft skills development (40.6%) confirmed the community's potential for economic growth and human capital enhancement. The study's practical significance lies in its applicability for planning local development programmes, designing investment strategies, modernising social and educational infrastructure, and developing mechanisms to support civic activity and partnership-based interaction between authorities and residents. An integrated, participatory approach is essential for effective community development addressing identified priorities across all domains

Method - A case study design was employed, and data were collected through semi-structured interviews with three twelfth-grade students who were purposefully selected to investigate their experiences with ethical hacking. Results - The findings indicate that ethical hacking positively impacts students' professional development by enhancing problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills relevant to various fields. Notably, twelfth graders participating in ethical hacking form a close-knit community that collaborates and shares resources, fostering positive social interaction. Additionally, the findings highlight that this teaching method helps twelfth graders prioritise legal aspects, such as obtaining authorisation and respecting privacy laws. Furthermore, teaching ethical hacking challenges stereotypes, promotes responsibility, and encourages a positive attitude towards cybersecurity. The findings suggest that incorporating ethical hacking into information security instruction offers practical and engaging learning opportunities. Originality – The results are significant because few studies have examined twelfth graders' perceptions of ethical hacking in the era of digital advancement. This research enhances the likelihood of successful and problem-free information security programmes
Perception of the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Governance by Public Affairs Managers in Nigeria
This study explored the prospects of applying artificial intelligence (AI) in government institutions in Nigeria, specifically in public affairs management, using Lagos State as a case study. A total of 250 public affairs managers were systematically selected for the study. Four key informants who are experienced public affairs specialists in key sectors of governance were also selected for in-depth interviews. The study found that most public affairs managers were not prepared mentally and materially (but were willing) to adopt AI if perceived negative characteristics (such as the lack of originality, presumed high cost of application, and occasional inaccuracies) were addressed. The respondents believed that AI could help due to its speed and huge database storage capacity but considered the lack of funding as a major hindrance towards its adoption. They agree that correct application of AI is helpful in achieving sustainable governance
Implicature Shifts in the Translation of King Abdullah II’s Political Speeches from English into Arabic
Implicature refers to what people suggest or imply in their speaking or writing, beyond explicit statements. Translators are tasked with preserving the speaker’s or writer’s intended meaning rather than imposing their own interpretation. Changes in the intended meaning during translation can lead to implicature shifts, which pose challenges for readers of the target text. This study examines the implicature aspects of translating King Abdullah II’s political speeches from English into Arabic, focusing on the influence of these shifts and the variations that occur in the translated texts. A mixed-method approach, combining quantitative and qualitative techniques, was adopted to analyze implicature shifts using three selected speeches and their translations. The analysis, guided by Grice’s theory of implicature, coded the shifts into categories such as addition, omission, explicitation, and substitution, presented in figures and tables. The findings revealed that these shifts reflect a tendency to avoid flouting conversational maxims and enhance clarity and politeness. A preference for explicit over implicit meanings was observed, which sometimes altered the intended meaning of the original text. This study highlights the critical role of implicature in translation and underscores the importance of preserving the communicative intent of the source text to avoid unintended shifts in meaning
Hybrid Communication Ecosystems in Rural Contexts: Climate Adaptation Media Ecology Through Face-to-Face, Television, and WhatsApp
This article examines a hybrid communication ecosystem in a rural setting vulnerable to climate change and questions how face-to-face conversations, television, and WhatsApp interact to transform climate information into action. Drawing on a qualitative case study in Sukadamai Village, Bogor, we combine semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and WhatsApp conversation analysis, then conduct a reflexive thematic analysis with triangulation. Findings indicate that television provides weather cues, while recurring field conversations serve as verification hubs that contextualize risks, negotiate time, and allocate tasks; WhatsApp complements these routines with rapid coordination alerts. We theorize that adaptation is a cycle of signal-verification actions distributed across interpersonal, mass, and digital channels, structured by organizational norms, trust, role cues, gatekeeping, and soft accountability, that mitigates unequal access and reduces decision latency in the face of rainfall variability. We recommend strengthening offline briefings and forums while incubating the targeted use of WhatsApp within working groups to accelerate alerts and coordinate work without displacing established practices. This study contributes to media ecology and environmental communication by determining the mechanisms by which hybrid networks translate climate signals into appropriate decisions and organizational and interpersonal communication by outlining design implications for information services, facilitation roles, and group chat governance
Postmodern AI: A New Vision of Man's Relationship with Technology
This research explores the impact of postmodern artificial intelligence (AI) on philosophy, arts, politics, and ethics. It aims to analyze how AI reflects postmodern thought, focusing on concepts like relativism and multiplicity. The study also investigates AI's potential effects in various fields, including creativity, decision-making, and societal norms. The methodology includes a critical review of existing literature and case studies on AI applications. Key findings reveal that AI in the postmodern era challenges traditional notions of truth, authority, and creativity, while raising ethical concerns about bias, privacy, and job displacement. The research calls for clear ethical frameworks, education initiatives, and human-AI collaboration to address these challenges and ensure a balanced future between technology and humanity
