Exploring a Practical Method of Teaching Cleft Sentences in English

Abstract 
This paper deals with two types of cleft sentences in English: -cleft and Wh-cleft sentences.  
Though school grammar in Japan puts these constructions into an emphatic sentence as a whole, 
they are not easily interchangeable showing individual properties the canonical sentences do not 
display. Especially from syntactic, semantic and informational structural points of view, I argue 
that English learners need to know how to use these two constructions with the understanding of 
at least three characteristics they exhibit such that (i)both sentences differ from each other in 
what appears at the focus position, (ii)these two constructions express an exhaustiveness 
implicature and (iii)the orderings of the presuppositional clause and focus position are switched 
in these two constructions.

【背景・目的】 
本修士論文では、まず本研究のテーマを設定
するに至った問題意識として、世界文化遺産の登
録を機に受ける経済・社会的影響や日本における
保全措置の現状についてデータを用いて述べた。
また、著者の実体験として、ある世界文化遺産へ
の訪問経験をもとに感じた不満があったことを記
述した。   
このような問題意識から、まず、世界文化遺産
の保全と観光振興に関する先行研究をした。結果
として、世界文化遺産が直面している景観保全と
観光振興の課題それぞれの研究、観光振興の重
要さを述べながらも世界遺産としての価値の損失
を危惧している研究、1 つの世界遺産の景観整備
や保存について調査し課題を見出している研究な
ど、先行研究によって明らかになった。しかし、
実際に両立できている世界遺産を包括的に、かつ
論理的なフレームワークによって分析を試みて研
究しているものは筆者が調べた限りなかった。 
以上を踏まえて、研究目的を日本国内の世界文
化遺産において景観保全と観光振興を両立し持
続可能な世界文化遺産運営を行っていくための
取り組みの効果を学術的な見地から分析・考察し、
景観保全と観光振興の両立に向けたモデリングを
することを目的とした。 
 
【調査方法】 
本修士論文では、研究方法として実証研究を
採用した。調査方法として、インタビュー調査 ( 対
面 ) と世界文化遺産の現地視察を実施する。現地
視察は、インタビュー調査で得た内容と現地視察
によって確認できる内容に相違がないか確認する
ことを目的とする。調査母集団の抽出にあたり、
①ミシュラン・グリーンガイド・ジャパン ( 第６
版 ) にて星１つ以上の評価を獲得していること、
②遺産登録の前年と 2019 年 ( 新型コロナウイル
ス蔓延前 ) のデータを比較して観光客数が増加し
ていることを条件とし、景観保全と観光振興の両
立を果たす遺産として６つ遺産を抽出した。研究
概念図の作成に際し、研究目的を踏まえた 3 つの
論理的なフレームワークを選定し、質問項目を設
けた。加えて、６つの世界文化遺産の景観保全と
観光振興について満遍なく調査するために、①府
県レベルの行政組織、②市町村レベルの行政組
織、③民間保全組織、④民間観光関係組織、の 4
組織を対象に対面でのインタビュー調査と現地視
察を実施した。 
 
【調査結果】 
インタビュー調査と現地視察から得たデータを
一致法・差異法により分析・考察することにより、
命題の抽出とモデリング、加えて特殊要因から提
言をした。まず、社会的影響について、世界遺産
登録やブームによる誘客効果は実感しつつも、社
会変化による実感の仕方は遺産ごとにそれぞれで
あることを確認できた。2 つ目に、成功事例遺産
の保全態勢として、保全活動や普及啓発を行う
民間・市民組織の組織化がされていることや、行
政・民間保全団体・民間企業・地域住民の協力
が必要であること、さらに遺産の保全活動や修繕
活動の公開や体験を実施することなど全 9 つの命
題を抽出できた。3 つ目に、観光地としての受け
入れ態勢の向上のための取り組みとして、行政と
観光に関わる民間団体の連携が必要なことや、観

光地づくりにおいても民間企業や地域住民の参画
が必要なことなど全 17 の命題を抽出できた。ま
た、自然資源を活用した体験プランを充実させる
ことに加え、高級志向者向けプラン等を提供する
こと、さらに、世界遺産のある地域だけでの観光
施策を図るのではなく他地域と連携することなど
も、観光客の選択肢の増加やリピーター獲得につ
ながることが確認できた。インタビュー調査デー
タの分析結果より、「保全と活用の両立のための
双方向好循環モデル」を提案した。 
 
【対極事例調査とその結果】 
さらに、構築したモデルの社会実装可能性をよ
り高めるために対極事例へ追加調査を実施した。
追加調査対象遺産の抽出では、①観光公害によ
る被害があること、②遺産登録の前年と 2019 年
( 新型コロナウイルス蔓延前 ) のデータを比較し
て観光客数が減少していることのいずれかの条件
に当てはまる世界文化遺産を抽出し、調査対象
遺産とした。調査方法については、成功事例調
査で得た命題をもとに質問項目をまとめ、インタ
ビュー調査 ( オンライン ) を実施した。 
まず、追加調査から得たデータから「保全と活
用の両立のための双方向好循環モデル」に追記
すべきことやモデルを社会実装する上で考慮しな
ければいけない点を分析した。景観保全態勢を
万全にしていく上で、(1) 民間企業が保全活動へ
参加すること、(2) 金銭的な利用者 ( 観光客 ) 負
担を設けること、(3) 観光客増加を抑制する施策
ではなく、観光公害化しないような施策を考えて
いくこと、以上の 3 つは絶対にやるべきことある
いは考えていく方向性として明らかにすることが
できた。また、観光振興を進めていく上で、(1)
観光関係者へ講習会や研修の実施をすること、(2)
混雑状況の予測やライブ配信をすること、(3) デー
タの収集と活用までを一貫して行うこと、(4) 観
光施策の場において外国人スタッフの意見を取り
入れること、(5) 四季を活かした PR 活動を行っ
ていくこと、以上の 5 つは絶対にやっていくべき
ことと明らかになった。 
両立する上で絶対条件となる事項をモデルに
組み込み、再構築を行った。 
本修士論文の結果として、世界文化遺産の景
観保全と観光振興の両立を果たすために取り組
むべき内容について確認し、それら取り組みが保
全と活用の双方で効果的に作用しあい便益を生
んでいることを明らかにした。また、追加調査を
実施したことで、観光客の過剰誘引や観光客減
少など望ましくない側面に対し、増加した観光客
数を抑制する取り組みをするのではなく、観光公
害化しないような施策を打つことの重要性や、観
光客減少に歯止めをかけるために取り組むべき絶
対条件を明らかにした。

１．総則
　1)　岩手県立大学看護学部（以下「本学部」という）は，本学部における研究成果の発表を目的
　　として，岩手県立大学看護学部紀要 / Journal of the Faculty of Nursing,  Iwate Prefectural 　
　　University（以下「紀要」という）を年１回発行する．
　2）　紀要の発行については，本学部教授会が紀要編集委員会を設置し，その任にあたる．紀要編
　　集委員は，本学部広報委員が兼務する．
２．投稿資格
　筆頭著者の投稿資格は，次のとおりとする．
　1）　本学部の教員（非常勤実習助手を含む）と大学院生とする．
　2）　第 1 項の他，本学部の退職・転出者，非常勤講師の投稿資格については，紀要編集委員会が　　
　　審議の上決定する．
３．原稿の種類
　投稿する原稿は未発表のものとし，次の 5 種類のうち 1）～ 4）を論文として取り扱う．
　1）　 総説
　　　 特定のテーマについての知見を集め，文献等をレビューし，総合的に学問的状況を概説した
　　　 もの．
　2）　 原著
　　　 研究論文のうち，研究そのものに独創性があり，新しい知見を含めて体系的に研究成果が記
　　　 述されており，看護学および関連分野の知識として意義が明らかであるもの．
　3） 　研究報告
　　　 研究論文のうち，研究成果の意義が大きく，看護学および関連分野の発展に寄与すると認め　　　 　
　　　 られるもの．
　4） 　短報
　　　 研究論文のうち，研究そのものに速報に値する新しい知識が含まれており，看護学および　
　　　 関連分野の発展に寄与することが期待できるもの．
　5）　 その他
　　　 看護学および関連分野，あるいは教育に関する意義ある活動について，実践内容と今後の　
　　 　発展に向けた考察を含めて記述されたもの，報告の意義があるもの．

４．倫理的配慮
　1） 　人および動物が対象とされる研究は，倫理的に配慮されていることを要件とし，その旨を　
　　　 本文中に明記すること．
　2） 　原則として本学研究倫理審査委員会等の研究倫理審査を受けていること．
５．投稿手続
　投稿しようとする者は，次の諸手続を行うものとする．
　1）　 投稿原稿 2 部のうち 1 部は，氏名，所属，謝辞を取り外して著者を特定する事項を削除する．
　2） 　投稿原稿チェックリストに入力し，論文ファイルとともに提出する．なお，大学院修了生　
　　　 が学位論文の一部を投稿の場合は，査読者選任のために指導教員を知る必要があるため，
　　　 投稿申請書の備考欄に，指導教員名，主査・副査教員名を追加する．
　3）　 投稿原稿は，執筆方法に関する内規に準じて作成し，メール添付で投稿用メールアドレス　
　　　 kiyou@iwate-pu-nurs-kiyou.jp に送信する．なお，件名を「岩手県立大学看護学部紀要投稿　
　　　 原稿」とする．また，投稿原稿受領通知メールを投稿元のメールアドレスに返信するため，
　　　 投稿者本人のメールアドレス以外からの投稿は原則として認めない．
　4）　 投稿の受付は，通年実施し紀要編集委員会において，投稿原稿が所定の手続にしたがって　
　　　 いることを確認した時点をもって投稿手続の完了とし，当該日をもって受付日とする．投
　　　 稿者へ投稿原稿受領通知を返信し，その後，原稿に不備がなければ投稿手続完了通知を返
　　　 信することとし，投稿手続完了通知を送信した日を受付日とする．また，査読終了後，紀
　　　 要掲載が決定した日を受理日とし，投稿者に紀要掲載決定通知を送信する．
　5） 　著者は，前項の受理日以降の日であれば，紀要編集委員会に論文掲載証明の発行を請求す
　　　 ることが出来る．
６．投稿原稿の採否
　1） 　投稿原稿の紀要への掲載の採否は，査読を経て紀要編集委員会が決定する．
　2） 　査読者は，紀要編集委員会が依頼する．
　3） 　その他査読に関し必要な事項は，別に定める．
７．編集
　投稿原稿の紀要への掲載順序の決定，その他紀要の編集に関することは，紀要編集委員会が行う．

８．校正
　印刷時の校正は三校までとし，初校及び二校は著者校正とする．ただし，著者校正は字句の訂正
に留めるものとする．
９．著作権
　紀要掲載内容（ホームページ上で公開する電子媒体を含む）の著作権は，全て本学部に帰属する
ものとし，当該著作権の利用手続は次のとおりとする．
　1）　 紀要内で掲載されている図表など原著性の高い内容を他の雑誌や書籍刊行物にて利用する
　　　 際には，紀要編集委員会宛に必ず書状にて許諾申請を行うこと．
　2） 　紀要誌面内容使用に関する許諾申請書には，1．引用する紀要の論文の巻・号・頁・年度・
　　　 タイトル・筆頭著者名・使用したい図表等の掲載頁とその図表番号，2．利用目的，3．依
　　　 頼者住所・氏名・電話番号・FAX 番号・電子メールアドレス・自著署名を付記すること．
　3）　 使用が許可された図表等の利用に関しては，脚注に当該文献名を明示すること．
10. 著者が負担すべき費用
　1）　 掲載料
　　　 掲載料は無料とする．
　2）　 別刷り
　　　 別刷りは 30 部まで無料とする．
11. 紀要原稿の執筆方法
　原稿執筆に関し必要な事項は，別に定める．
　附則
　　この内規は，平成 19 年 9 月 19 日から施行する．
　　岩手県立大学看護学部紀要要項は本要項の施行により廃止する．
