Peace in Bloom mural launch and panel discussion
Peace in Bloom is a mural that was been created by the Master of Design students at Swinburne University of Technology's School of Design and Architecture in collaboration with Melbourne street artist Ghostpatrol a.k.a. David Booth in May 2025. This video captures a time lapse of the painting and a panel discussion at the mural's launch during Melbourne Design Week. The discussion questions the value of legal and illegal murals and the power they have to reclaim space and spread messages publicly. Artist David Booth is shown in conversation with Dr. Sabina Andron, a graffiti expert, and Swinburne lecturer Dr. Jane Connory, to discuss how our vibrant city still embraces public murals and the power they have to convey important societal messages.
Melbourne Design Week is an initiative of the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria
