Transitioning to residential aged care: The Issues (Webinar Series on Ageing)
Most older adults prefer to live in their own homes for as long as possible. Moving into residential aged care can emerge suddenly or be planned. Often the move into care is associated with factors such as deteriorating health, a medical crisis, the loss of a partner or mobility limitations. In this webinar, we discuss the emotional and practical issues that commonly present during this transition to residential aged care. We discuss the challenges experienced by the older person, families and carers, as well as strategies and resources that may help ease the transition.
