An Adnominal Modification of“ no” and“ na”
The proper use of "no" and "na" as an adnominal modification is generally determined by the part of
speech of the modifying element. However, both may be possible and sometimes finding a clear
difference in meanings between the two is not easy. There is some element of freedom in deciding
which one to use.
More recently, we can see an increase in the productive usage of modification using "na" such as
"otona-na jikan" (adult time) and "kyaria-na hito" (career person). This is likely because the original
nouns are given "context."departmental bulletin pape
Problems of the Elderly in Modern Society and the Legend of Abandonment
It is said that there were in Japan nearly 600 occurrences of the legend of “Abandoning an elderly
person in the mountains”. According to this legend, which is not always clear in folk studies, in agricultural
societies of low productivity, the amount of food and other circumstances led to the abandonment of the
elderly who had lost their ability to work.
In modern society too, frequent occurrences of old people dying in solitude, or being murdered by
someone who has tired of giving them care, are a phenomenon which can be thought to have a link to this
tradition of abandonment. There is a big difference between the background of the medieval period, in
which the legend was mainly created, and that of present society, in which“ abandonment” is now
occurring, so the two cannot be understood in the same way. However, in this paper, I will present points of
commonality that seem to exist between them.departmental bulletin pape
Passing Japanese Home Cooking to the Next Generation : “Sweetfish Sushi”in Kamikawachi, Tochigi Prefecture
The purposes of this study are to verify manufacturing metshods of“ Ayu-no-kusarezushi”
(fermented sweetfish sushi) between early Showa era and today, and to reveal causal relationshiop with
local festival events.
Ayu-no-kusarezushi is classified as“ nama-narezushi” which does not come to full ripe lactic acid
fermentation. The feature of this sushi is to add lots of shredded radish along with rice salted sweetfish
in order to encourage lactic acid fermentation. This is very unusual as no other sushi is pickled with
radish together.
Regarding difference of production method between earl Showa era and today, this study reveals that the
former used various fish such as sunasabi and kajika besides sweetfish, but in the present age only sweetfish is
used. As for pickling, the author discovered that the stock of the previous year is no longer used.
The author concludes that this cuisine wish to be inherited in the community with local festivals.departmental bulletin pape
An Examination into Items of Reversion of Scales of Ability for Early Childhood Education : What in-service pre-school teachers expect from students who aspire to be pre-school teachers
The purpose of this study was to scrutinize items of Reversion of Scales of Ability for
Early Childhood Education (RSAECE, Akiyama 2014) to improve reliability when students who
aspire to be pre-school teachers monitor their behavior in practice teaching . In study 1 , I asked
59 in-service pre-school teachers who undertake the teaching of student teachers to evaluate
them using the RSAECE , and furthermore to point out the items of hard tasks for students if
they were included. Comparing the results with the students’ self-evaluation on the RSAECE ,
and getting rid of items which had often had blanks by students , consequently I elected the 36
useful items . In study 2 , Cluster analysis by using the new RSAECE datum of 448 students
revealed the following rules that teachers bore in caring for the children : bringing out latent
abilities within the children ; devoting their attention to the children ; providing an appropriate
environment for the children ; managing security , information and sanitation ; bringing up social
and emotional competence in the children . In study 3 , I analyzed the relationship between new
RSAECE scores and evaluations of teaching practice on 91 students , and got the improved
results with statistically significant positive correlations.departmental bulletin pape

Analysis of the classification, regional distribution and influential factors of World Industrial Heritages
This paper determines the 72 world industrial heritage in the scope of The World Heritage List. This
study used the method of mathematical statistics, spatial structure analysis and space-time analysis to
explore spatial structure and determinants of World Industrial Heritages. Through the spatial structure analysis
of world industrial heritage, it is found that the spatial distribution is not balanced.
Through the space-time analysis of world industrial heritage, we find world industrial heritage space
distribution in Europe and Asia has some large fluctuations at different times. Especially in recent years,
the number of Asian World Industrial Heritage has increased dramatically, it provide an important guide
and opportunity for Asian World Industrial Heritage will become World Heritage.
Based on the above verifications, the spatial distribution characteristics of world industrial heritage are
