Riflessioni sulla disposizione dell'eredità futura (?). Nuovi spunti palingenetici per l'esegesi di D. 18.4.11 (Ulp. 32 ad ed.)
Get PDFEnConsidering the hypothesis mentioned in D. 18.4.11 (Ulp. 32 ad ed.), the essay deals with the issue that arises from the relationship between the sale of future inheritance and the aleatory sale of it. After emphasizing the critical points of the traditional doctrinal interpretations, it is suggested to place the fragment immediately after D. 19.1.13.5 (Ulp. 32 ad ed.), and thus make a modification to Lenel's palingenetic reconstruction (in which D. 18.4.11 is put after D. 19.1.11.18 [Ulp. 32 ad ed.]). The proposal would both give to Ulpian's fragment a more coherent meaning rather than the one deriving from the context in which Lenel places it and exclude that it could be seen as a rule referring to the contractual availability of the future inheritance.DeDer Aufsatz betrifft das Thema des Kaufs einer zukünftigen Erbschaft und ihre Beziehung mit dem in D. 18.4.11 (Ulp. 32 ad ed.) erwähnten aleatorischen Erbschaftskauf. Nach der Kenntnisnahme der Zweifel, welche die traditionellen Auslegungen der Rechtslehre entstehen lassen, versucht man im vorliegenden Aufsatz, diesen Auszug gleich darauf das in D. 19.1.13.5 (Ulp. 32 ad ed.) enthaltenen Exzerpt zu stellen und in dieser Weise des palingenetischen Aufbaus von Lenel (der D. 18.4.11 nach D. 19.1.11.18 [Ulp. 32 ad ed.] stellt) zu ändern. Der vorgestellte Vorschlag erlaubt, eine kohärente Bedeutung dem Exzerpt von Ulpian zuzuschreiben und die Möglichkeit auszuschließen, in dieser Stelle eine Vorschrift bezüglich der verträglichen Verfügbarkeit einer zukünftigen Erbschaft zu erblicken

Get PDFEnIn this essay I submit to a renewed analysis the main literary and epigraphic testimonies helpful to illuminate some central aspects in the modern debate on the demography of Roman Italy, such as the position of cives sine suffragio in the count of civium capita, the demographic conditions of the peninsula during the Gracchan age, the decentralization of the census procedures. The conclusions reached allow to frame the figures of the censuses carried out between the fourth and first century BC within a line of demographic development consistent with that postulated by the 'low count'.EsEn este artículo presento un nuevo análisis de los principales testimonios literarios y epigráficos que ayudan a iluminar algunos aspectos centrales del moderno debate sobre la demografía de la Italia romana, como la posición de los cives sine suffragio en el recuento de civium capita, las condiciones demográficas de la península durante la época gracana, la descentralización del procedimiento del censo. Las conclusiones alcanzadas permiten encuadrar las cifras de los censos llevados a cabo entre los siglos IV y I a.C. dentro de una línea de desarrollo demográfico coherente con lo postulado por el 'low count'
Compositional Principal Component Analysis on Air Concentrations data from Kodungaiyur region of Chennai city
Get PDFThis study applies Compositional Principal Component Analysis (CoDA PCA) to analyze air pollutant concentrations in the Kodungaiyur region of Chennai, focusing on seven key pollutants: PM10, PM2.5, NO2, SO2, NH3, O3, and CO. Compositional transformations—Centered Log-Ratio (CLR), Isometric Log-Ratio (ILR), and Additive Log-Ratio (ALR)—are employed to address the inherent constraints of compositional data, ensuring the sum of the proportions remains constant. The PCA results reveal that the first two principal components explain approximately 76% of the variance, providing valuable insights into the relationships between pollutants and their potential sources. The CLR, ILR, and ALR biplot highlight different pollutant groupings, suggesting distinct emission sources and environmental impacts. This study underscores the importance of using compositional data techniques in air quality research and offers a detailed understanding of pollutant dynamics in Kodungaiyur, aiding in more targeted pollution control strategies

Get PDFAbstract - The notion that the word is sacred, characteristic of Russian Symbolism in the early 20th century, was most consistently and radically expressed by Zinaida Gippius, who insisted on the kinship between poetry and prayer. The current paper analyses the rituals of Holy Thursday which laid the foundations of the spiritual alliance between Gippius, Merežkovskij and Filosofov and was intended to be expression of a ‘new religious consciousness’. The work highlights similarities between Gippius's poetics and the new forms of praying that spread among the disciples of the ‘Religion of the Third Testament’. In particular, the following features of Gippius’s ‘poetic prayers’ appear to be relevant: the intensification of sensibility/sensuality while preserving a conservative, classical cultural and stylistic form of expression and orientation towards the Christian tradition; a wider idea of the kinds of experiences that can be expressed in religious terms and considered to be religious (the evangelisation of secular, worldly life); and the deroutinization of church liturgy and prayers for the sake of a freer and more sincere communication between man and God.Аннотация – Характерная для русских символистов начала XX века идея сакрализации слова наиболее последовательно и радикально была выражена Зинаидой Гиппиус, настаивавшей на родстве стихотворчества и молитвы. В статье проанализирована ритуальная практика Великого Четверга, заложившая основы духовного союза Гиппиус, Мережковского и Философова и призванная быть выражением “нового религиозного сознания”. Показаны переклички между поэтикой Гиппиус и опытом разработки новых форм молитвы в круге сторонников “религии Третьего завета”. Среди особенностей стихотворных молитв Гиппиус выделена установка на интенсификацию чувственности при сохранении консервативной, классической культурной формы и ориентации на христианскую традицию, на расширение представления о том, какого рода переживания могут быть выражены и осмыслены как религиозные (евангелизация светской, мирской жизни), а также на дерутинизацию восприятия церковной литургии и соборных молитв ради более свободного и искреннего общения человека с Богом.
Instagram English microlessons. A new genre for nonformal EFL learning
Get PDFAcademic interest in Instagram’s role as an informal language learning platform has grown over the past few years. This study systematically analyses Instagram accounts specifically dedicated to teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL), aiming to identify common features that establish them as a genre and to provide a descriptive framework for further empirical research into the learning outcomes of this type of language exposure. This qualitative investigation examines the characteristics of 6 institutional and 21 non-institutional English language teaching accounts. Using categories from traditional classroom language instruction as the analytical framework (non-formal, contents and topics, teachers and learners and methodology and modes of presentation), this study compares informal Instagram teaching to traditional formal EFL education. Additionally, it contrasts the strategies employed by institutional accounts with those used by private, micro-celebrity teachers
