An Approach towards Designing a Cryptographic Confidentiality Algorithm with high PSNR & Time Efficient

    Get PDF
Steganography is the technique of hiding valuable information within other data. While cryptography makes sure that the data is unreadable to the third party.  To fulfill the concern of security, many approaches of steganography and cryptography are discussed and developed. In the paper we proposed a work with combined approach of steganography and cryptography and is applied to achieve the goal of security with better efficiency as compared to previous methodologies. The information hiding system is mainly designed with the attributes of characters i.e. RGB values. The proposed work presented in this paper implements the five processing steps of our methodology. These steps consists the generation of a pseudo random number with the help of a 128 bit key, generation of four keys to encrypt the message, encryption by symmetric key encryption technique,  cipher text hiding by replacing the least significant with the application of modified LSB algorithm, and generation of secured message at the end as output. The proposed algorithm is designed in such a way that before hiding a bit, the bit is optimized first that it increases the PSNR value as compared with previous algorithms without affecting the other parameters.

Using Multidimensional Canonical Partitioning (MCP) as a Supply-Driven Approach for Data Warehouses Design

    Get PDF
Various information systems have been developed for decision support. But, they rely essentially on transactional methods. From data and transactional databases, we proposed a supply-driven approach to design data warehouses. The approach takes as input, a universal relation, applies vertical partitioning by a greedy type heuristic algorithm. Partitions obtained are transformed into dimensions using a matching algorithm. The other elements of the multidimensional annotation are deduced by guidelines, and the data warehouse schema is generated using a multidimensional conceptual pattern. The transformation of those transactional systems into decision support ones aims at facilitating the storage, exploitation and the representation of data using new databases generation technologies

Opinion Mining Using Twitter Feeds for Political Analysis

    Get PDF
Sentiment analysis deals with identifying and understanding opinions and sentiments expressed in a particular text. The masses give their opinion regarding various subjects on social media platforms using tweets, status updates and blogs. By analyzing this very data, we can gain better insight of the public opinion on any subject in specific. On performing sentiment analysis in a specific domain, it is possible to identify the effect of domain information in sentiment classification. Twitter sentiment analysis is difficult compared to general sentiment analysis due to the presence of slang words and misspellings. The maximum limit of characters allowed in Twitter is 140. In this paper, we try to analyze the twitter posts about government issues and political reforms. The proposed framework uses Twitter as the platform to analyze the emotions of the users using Sentiment Analysis. The system will use the opinions of the users, analyze the reaction and then map it to the appropriate region

A Study of the Identification of the Factors that Lead to Time Delays in Software Development

    Get PDF
Completing software development projects on time has always been very challenging for software developers.  Despite proper planning and use of tools and techniques, project managers often complained that they miss their targets.  Rarely software development projects are delivered on time to the satisfaction of clients.  Time slips, deadline missed and schedule overruns resulting in serious delays for software delivery.  This study aims at identifying the factors which prevent software project to be completed on time.  It extracts where software developers experience most of the time delays and assess whether overrunning schedule is distinct to different size of organisation.  A survey questionnaire was designed for identifying the causes and frequency of occurrences of delays on software projects.  The questionnaire was administered to software developers at small, medium and large software development house.   Semi-structured interviews were also conducted with software developers who have experienced on managing software development projects.  Findings reveal that software delays are mostly due to managerial problems rather than technical complexities.  Coordination, communication, conflicting relationship, unrealistic planning, team complexity are among the factors found that contribute most to time delays.   Technical factors are found to be less prominent with the most frequent ones being in accommodating changes, determining requirements and in the testing phase. Besides, it has been observed that there is uniformity across organisations i.e. the small, medium and large development firms face the same issues as regards to the time delays affecting software project

These instructions can be considered as a part of ASIP processor for mathematics functions of Matlab software. Designing process for mentioned instructions is explained comprehensively. The basic structure is developed in order to reduce the required clock cycles for the mentioned instructions. The complete instruction set for each function is described in Register Transform Language.

Mammography Image Enhancement using Linear, Nonlinear and Wavelet Filters with Histogram Equalization

    Get PDF
In the worldwide, breast cancer is one of the major diseases among the women. In the modern medical science, there are plenty of newly devised methodologies and techniques for the timely detection of breast cancer. However, there are difficulties still exist for detecting breast cancer at an early stage for its diagnoses because of poor visualization and artifacts present in the mammography. Thus the Digital mammographic image preprocessing often requires, enhancement of the image to improve the quality while preserving important details. The proposed method works in three stages. First it removes all the artifacts present in the image. Second it denoise the image by using Linear, nonlinear and wavelet filters. Third, contrast of the image increased by histogram equalization. This method definitely helps to computer aided diagnosis system to increase the accuracy. The experimental results are tested on two standard datasets MIAS and DDSM.

Performance evaluation is one of the major factors that determine the growth and development of any organization. Competent and hardworking employees are identified proper appraisal, and promotion and gratuity are justly applied. Lack of clarity of performance metrics and bias create improper appraisal in organizations, with evaluation process mostly inconclusive, incomplete, and unfair, affecting the effectiveness of the result. This study, therefore, focused on developing a model and application towards achieving a staff-centric, task-centric and environment-centric computer-based appraisal system. In developing the proposed system, the spiral model of the Software Development Life Cycle was adopted. The software development environment consists of Netbeans Integrated Development Environment, Hypertext Mark-up language, MySQL, MySQL DB connector, Apache and PHPmyAdmin. The metrics that were used by the system to evaluate performance include attendance, employee responsiveness, punctuality and projects. The model was created and an agent-based performance evaluation application was developed as an instantiation of the model. The system revealed employee strengths and weaknesses regarding execution of a particular project.

Security Analysis of Digital Signature Scheme with Message Recovery using Self-Certified Public Keys

    Get PDF
Tseng and his colleagues have proposed two variants of authenticated encryption scheme using self-certified public keys. Their schemes have two fundamental properties. Only the intended receiver can recover the message while verifying the signature, and each user can use his own private key independently without system authority learning about it. This paper presents man-in-the-middle attacks to both Tseng and his colleagues authenticated encryption variants. It will be shown that these schemes are not secure against this attack

Cloud Management Architecture for Private Clouds

    Get PDF
Operation management for a private cloud infrastructure faces many challenges including efficient resource allocation, load-balancing, and quick response to real-time work- load changes. Traditional manual IT operation management is inadequate for this highly dynamic and complex environment. This work presents a distributed service architecture that is designed to provide an automated, shared, off-site operation management service for private clouds. The service architecture incorporates important concepts such as: Metric Templates for minimizing the network overhead for transmission of cloud metrics; a Cloud Snapshot that provides a global view of the current status of the cloud, supporting optimal decision making; and a Calendar-based Data Storage Model to reduce the storage required for cloud metric data and increase analysis performance. A proactive response to cloud events is generated based on statistical analysis of historical metrics and predicted usage. The architecture, functional components and operation management strategies are described. A prototype implementation of the proposed architecture was deployed as a service on the OpenStack. The effectiveness and usability of the proposed proactive operation management solution has been comprehensively evaluated using a simulated private cloud with dynamic workloads.
