    The Effectiveness of Structured and Guided Inquiry Learning Models in Enhancing Students’ Science Process Skills on Acid-Base Topics in Senior High School

    Education is a key factor in shaping students' character and competence. The 2013 Curriculum highlights not only the development of student character but also the enhancement of scientific competence, including science process skills (SPS). One effective approach to developing SPS is through the application of inquiry-based learning models. This study investigates the differences in students' SPS on acid-base topics by comparing the use of structured inquiry and guided inquiry models. The research employed a random sampling technique, and data were collected using observation sheets and field notes. Field notes were analyzed qualitatively to support and enrich the interpretation of observational and quantitative findings. The quantitative data, obtained from essay-based tests, were analyzed using inferential statistics such as the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, homogeneity test, independent t-test, paired t-test, and N-Gain to evaluate learning improvement in both groups. The effectiveness of each model was determined based on the increase in N-Gain scores from pretest to posttest. The results revealed that inquiry-based learning significantly improved students' SPS, with an increase in the average score from 35.18 to 78.33. Additionally, observation data indicated a steady increase in students’ engagement and participation throughout the learning sessions, highlighting the benefits of inquiry approaches in science education.Pendidikan memegang peranan penting dalam membentuk karakter dan kompetensi siswa. Kurikulum 2013 menekankan pada pengembangan karakter dan peningkatan kompetensi, termasuk pengembangan keterampilan proses sains (SPS). Salah satu model pembelajaran yang efektif untuk meningkatkan SPS adalah model pembelajaran inkuiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji perbedaan SPS siswa pada topik asam-basa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terstruktur dan terbimbing. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimental dengan kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen dan pendekatan metode campuran triangulasi konkuren, di mana data kuantitatif dan kualitatif dikumpulkan secara bersamaan. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes esai SPS dan lembar observasi. Efektivitas model dianalisis menggunakan skor N-Gain berdasarkan hasil pretest dan posttest. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri efektif dalam meningkatkan SPS siswa, sebagaimana dibuktikan oleh peningkatan skor rata-rata dari 35,18 menjadi 78,33. Data observasi juga menunjukkan peningkatan yang konsisten dalam aktivitas belajar siswa di seluruh sesi

    Students' Speaking Achievement at Seventh Grade Using Snowball Throwing Model: An Experimental Study

    Many students struggle with English fluency due to the use of traditional teaching methods that lack engagement and interactivity. This study aims to assess the impact of the Snowball Throwing model on pupils' speaking abilities at SMPN 34 Surabaya. A quantitative research approach was adopted, employing an experimental design that included both an experimental and a control group. Data collection followed a structured procedure, comprising a pre-test, the application of the treatment, and a post-test using procedure text material. This study used the cluster random sampling approach, which yielded a total sample of 58 pupils.  Class VII-I was selected as the experimental group in this case, while Class VII-H was used as the control group. A speaking ability test served as the study tool, and IBM SPSS Statistics version 19 was used to analyze the data. The findings revealed a two-rooted p-value of 0.000, below the significance level of 0.05. Consequently, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was validated, indicating that the Snowball Throwing model had a noteworthy effect on students' speaking abilities.  It may be concluded that using the Snowball Throwing model influences students' speaking abilities because the p-value stayed below the significance threshold

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMP melalui pengembangan modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis model problem based learning (PBL) diintegerasikan dengan Ekowisata Sebau. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan model 4D. Model ini terdiri dari empat tahap pengembangan, yaitu Define, Design, Develop, and disseminate. Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IX SMPN 2 Wanasaba yang berjumlah 47 orang. Data kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik diperoleh dari hasil tes uraian yang diberikan pada awal (pre-test) dan akhir pembelajaran (post-test). Peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis dihitung berdasarkan nilai N-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai N-gain sebesar 74,61% berada pada kategori peningkatan hasil belajar yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis model Problem Based Learning (PBL) diintegerasikan dengan Ekowisata Sebau meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik secara signifikan

    As with other horticultural crops, shallot production is influenced by the local climate (season). This research aims to find out how Good Agriculture Practice and climate change adaptation strategies are implemented in shallot production in Mojorejo village, Kedungadem District, Bojonegoro Regency, and to find out how the application of Good Agriculture Practice and climate change adaptation strategies in shallot production affects farmers' welfare. The analysis used in this research is descriptive statistical analysis and Partial Least Squares SEM (PLS-SEM). Sampling was carried out using the Slovin formula with the proportionate sampling method, namely 51 respondents. The results of the research show that the influence of good agricultural practices and climate change adaptation strategies on red onion production on welfare has a positive and positive impact of 0.47. In the good agricultural practice variable, the most dominant regulation is social analysis, 0.89, in the strategic variable adapting to non-water climate change, the most dominant is 0.91 in plant management. The most dominant regional welfare variable is social security management at 0.88. With the implementation of good agricultural practices and strategies for adapting to changes in climate, the health and level of leadership of agricultural families increases.: Bawang merah merupakan sayuran rempah, meskipun bukan asli dari Indonesia, tetapi penggunaannya sebagai bumbu penyedap masakan sungguh lekat dengan lidah orang Indonesia. Sebagaimana tanaman hortikultura lainnya, produksi bawang merah dipengaruhi oleh iklim (musim) setempat. Bawang merah sangat peka terhadap hujan dan kekeringan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Bagaimana penerapan Good Agriculture Practice dan strategi adaptasi perubahan iklim pada produksi bawang merah di desa Mojorejo Kecamatan Kedungadem Kabupaten Bojonegoro, dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh penerapan Good Agriculture Practice dan strategi adaptasi perubahan iklim pada produksi bawang merah terhadap kesejahteraan petani di Desa Mojorejo Kecamatan Kedungadem Kabupaten Bojonegoro. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis statistic deskriptif dan Partial Least Squares SEM (PLS-SEM). Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan rumus slovin dengan metode proportionate sampling yaitu sebanyak 51 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa deskripsi keadaan untuk variabel Good Agriculture Practice (X1), Strategi adaptasi perubahan iklim (X2), dan Kesejahteraan (Y) Tergolong baik. Penerapan GAP dan strategi adaptasi perubahan iklim dinilai dapat meningkatkan hasil kualitas bawang merah sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan para petani serta dapat mendukung upaya kesejahteraan petani bawang merah. Dan variabel Good Agriculture Practice (X1) , variabel Strategi adaptasi perubahan iklim (X2) berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap variabel kesejahteraan (Y). mayoritas petani bawang merah menerapkan GAP dan strategi adaptasi perubahan iklim untuk mencegah menurunya hasil kualitas panen serta meminimalisir gagal panen seperti tahun- tahun sebelumnya

    The Effect of Giving Forest Guava Fruit Yogurt (Bellucia pentamera Naudin) on the Growth of Esterichia coli Bacteria in Mice (Mus musculus)

    This research investigates the effect of forest guava fruit yogurt (Bellucia pentamera Naudin) on the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria in mice (Mus musculus). The study utilized an experimental design with treatment and control groups. Mice were divided into four groups: three treatment groups received forest guava fruit yogurt at concentrations of 5, 10, and 15%, respectively, administered at 0.5 ml per dose daily for 14 days, while the control group was given plain yogurt. E. coli growth was assessed by analyzing fecal samples from each group. The findings revealed that the growth of E. coli bacteria in the mice decreased significantly after administration of forest guava fruit yogurt, with the most pronounced reduction observed in the group receiving the 15% concentration. In contrast, the control group, which received plain yogurt, exhibited a less marked decrease in E. coli growth. These results suggest that forest guava fruit yogurt has a stronger inhibitory effect on E. coli bacteria compared to plain yogurt. In conclusion, forest guava fruit yogurt appears to be an effective natural agent for reducing E. coli growth in mice, potentially offering added health benefits beyond those of conventional yogurt

    The Effect of The Development Results of Teaching Materials, Research, and Teaching Methodologies on The Learning Outcomes and Student's Write Research Proposals Ability

    Development results need to be further researched to determine the effects on learning, such as in the development of teaching materials that were experimented with learning outcomes and other related abilities. The research aims to determine the influence of applying the development of teaching materials, research, and teaching methodologies results on learning outcomes and student's ability to write research proposals. The research was a quasi-experimental type with a nonequivalent control group design. The subject was the S1 Mathematics Education, FKIP, USN Kolaka. Research instruments on learning outcomes with essay questions and the ability to write proposals with the PKM-R Simbelmawa rubric. Data collection by tests, demonstrations, and documentation, then analyzed with parametric inferential statistics through the MANOVA test. The research results showed the significant value of teaching materials with learning outcomes of 0.000 and the application of teaching materials to students' ability to write research proposals of 0.000. This shows that applying the results of developing teaching materials, research, and teaching methodologies affects learning outcomes and the ability to write student research proposals. The material and summary in the teaching materials add to students' insight and independence in finding knowledge related to the material in the mathematics research methodology course. The exercises billed in the teaching materials make students easier to practice writing research proposals

    Pengaruh Kompetensi Pedagogik dan Lingkungan Kerja Terhadap Perilaku Kerja Guru SMPN Di Kabupaten Serang Wilayah I dengan loyalitas sebagai Variabel Mediasi

    The study aims to describe the influence of pedagogic competence, work environment on teacher work behaviour with loyalty as mediation in SMPN Serang Regency Region I. The research used an explanatory method with a quantitative approach. The instrument used a closed questionnaire on 210 respondents using random sampling technique. The study used path analysis techniques to test the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable using lisrel. The results showed that: there is a significant positive direct effect of pedagogic competence on work behaviour with a path coefficient of 0.305, ρ value 0.00. The work environment on work behaviour has a significant positive direct effect with a coefficient of 0.50, ρ value 0.00. Loyalty to teacher work behaviour has a significant positive direct effect with a path coefficient of 0.107, ρ value 0.047. Simultaneously, it has a positive direct impact on work behaviour by 69.2%. Pedagogic competence on work behaviour through loyalty has an indirect effect but does not have a mediating effect, the sobel t value is 1.791. Similarly, the work environment on work behaviour through loyalty has an indirect effect but does not have a mediating effect with a sobel test value of 1.904.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan pengaruh kompetensi pedagogik, lingkungan kerja dengan loyalitas sebagai mediasi terhadap perilaku kerja guru di Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri Wilayah I Kabupaten Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan ex post facto. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner tertutup yang disebarkan kepada 210 responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis jalur untuk menguji pengaruh variabel eksogen terhadap variabel endogen dengan menggunakan lisrel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: terdapat pengaruh langsung positif signifikan kompetensi pedagogik terhadap perilaku kerja dengan nilai koefisien jalur = 0,305, ρ value 0,000 dan t = 4,766. Terdapat pengaruh langsung positif signifikan lingkungan kerja terhadap perilaku kerja dengan nilai koefisien jalur = 0.508, ρ value 0.000 dan t = 8.308. Terdapat pengaruh langsung positif signifikan loyalitas terhadap perilaku kerja dengan nilai koefisien jalur = 0.107, ρ value 0.047 dan t = 1.993. Dan secara bersama-sama berpengaruh langsung positif signifikan terhadap perilaku kerja sebesar 69,2% dengan F hitung 154,133. Kompetensi pedagogik terhadap perilaku kerja melalui loyalitas memiliki pengaruh tidak langsung namun tidak memiliki pengaruh mediasi karena nilai sobel T sebesar 1,791 < 1,971. Begitu juga dengan lingkungan kerja terhadap perilaku kerja melalui loyalitas yang memiliki pengaruh tidak langsung namun tidak memiliki pengaruh mediasi (1,904 < 1,971). Sedangkan nilai uji sobel kompetensi pedagogik dan lingkungan kerja sebesar 1,975 > 1,971, artinya secara bersama-sama memiliki pengaruh tidak langsung dan memiliki pengaruh mediasi yang signifikan terhadap perilaku kerja guru SMPN Kabupaten Serang

    Development of Electronic Modules (E-Module) Assisted by Book Creator in Science Learning with Critical Thinking Skills Activities for Junior High School Students

    This study aims to enhance students' critical thinking skills on the topic of substances and their changes using Book Creator. The research employed the Rowntree development model, with the research subjects being students at SMPN 1 Air Kumbang, Banyuasin Regency. The method used in this study was research and development (R&D) with the Rowntree development model and Tessmer evaluation, tested on 100 junior high school students. The results showed very high validity, with a Content Validity Index (CVI) and a Content Validity Ratio (CVR) of 0.8333, classified as very high. In the One-to-One evaluation stage, the practicality test results showed a percentage of 96.3% for the usefulness aspect and 91.67% for the ease-of-use aspect. In the Small Group Evaluation stage, the practicality of the e-module reached 97.53% for usability, classified as very practical, and 91.67% for ease of use. These results indicate that the e-module is considered very practical. The field test stage was conducted on 100 seventh-grade students to assess the effectiveness of the e-module in improving critical thinking skills. The results showed an N-Gain score of 56.11%, categorized as moderately effective. These findings indicate a significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills using Book Creator

    The Presence of Migratory Shorebirds on the Coast of Aceh Besar Beach and Banda Aceh

    The coast of Aceh Besar and Banda Aceh is one of the areas that is a stopover site for migratory shorebirds. This study aims to identify the types of migratory shorebirds and habitat types that support the presence of migratory shorebirds on the coast of Aceh Besar and Banda Aceh. The research was conducted in February to April 2024. The method used in this study is Purposive sampling with Point count. Data collection of migratory shorebirds species is carried out using point count. The study results show that 1.244 individuals migratory shorebird visit on the coast of Aceh Besar, that is Numenius phaeopus, Numenius arquata, Pluvialis fulva, Charadrius mongolus, Charadrius leschenaultii, Gallinago megala, Calidris minuta, Actitis hypoleucos, Xenus cinereus, and Limosa lapponica. Type of habitat used by migratory shorebird are mangroves, ponds, beaches, muddy plains, and grassy fields. On the coast of Banda Aceh 433 individuals migratory shorebird with habitat types of mangroves, ponds, muddy plains and beaches, that is Numenius arquata, Pluvialis fulva, Charadrius mongolus, Charadrius leschenaultii, Actitis hypoleucos. The diversity of migratory shorebirds on the coasts of Aceh Besar and Banda Aceh is in the medium category. It is necessary to establish protection areas for migratory shorebird and educate the public about the importance of preserving the enviroment

    Critical Thinking Implied to Fashion Research Competencies

    Critical thinking skills are one of the demands that a learner must have which is expected to have an impact on skills (psychomotor). However, the critical thinking aspect is often an ability that is sometimes difficult for learners to achieve, especially if it is related to psychomotor tasks in learning fashion research during a pandemic. This study was conducted to improve thinking skills that can be used to increase competence in conducting student fashion research in the form of students' abilities in conducting design research to identify clearly and concretely. The stages of the process that must be passed cognitively in learning are the first; information as an initial stage of acquiring knowledge, second; transformation to understand, digest and analyze knowledge to be transformed into a new form, third; evaluation to find out the truth of the transformation results that have been carried out. The method used is Research and Development by adapting the stages of the Four D Model. The ten stages are simplified into 4 stages, Define, Design, Development and Dissemination. Implementation and Evaluation statistical tests, measuring the critical thinking competence of students found an increase in the Gain Score of 16.18%. The psychomotor aspect, the student performance competence in the Fashion Research project assignment has increased by 12.00%. This research conducts on student learning outcomes which apply critical thinking and psychomotor tests in the fashion research class. Critical thinking skills use mind map strategies (spider diagrams) in formulating problems that lead to students' ideas. The research instrument employ various tests implementing the principles of critical thinking and psychomotor learning outcomes. Material of Fashion Research Learning use E-book. The result of this study is an evaluation to measure the critical thinking skills of learners to elaborate problems, discover solutions, and generate ideas leading fashion design concepts
