    Oral history with Kathleen Johnson from Yakima, Washington. She served in the Army in 1974 during Vietnam in Thailand doing work and operations for Military Intelligence. She sustained injuries to her legs and burn injuries later on. Though she was medically discharged she moved to Texas and continues to work for veterans in need of help. She loves her country and continues to encourage and support new and retired military personnel. Johnson served in the Army from 1974-1978

    This oral history interview was conducted by Gregory Peek as part of The Joe Anthony Project. Summary of the interview by Gregory Peek: "Darrell Millar is the drummer for the rock band Killer Dwarfs. The Killer Dwarfs are a Canadian heavy metal band formed in 1981 in the Toronto suburb of Oshawa, Ontario. Their self-titled 1983 debut album was picked up by San Antonio radio DJ Joe Anthony, who gave it significant radio airplay on 99.5 KISS. Soon after, the Killer Dwarfs traveled to San Antonio to play their first U.S. show at the Majestic Theater as an opener for Accept. The concert was promoted by San Antonio’s Jack Orbin of Stone City Attractions. According to Millar, the band’s future U.S. successes could be traced back to that show and Joe Anthony’s support of their music.

    This oral history interview was conducted by Gregory Peek as part of The Joe Anthony Project. Summary of the interview by Gregory Peek: "Dave Meniketti is the vocalist, songwriter, and lead guitarist for the rock band Y&T. Originally named Yesterday and Today, Y&T are a San Francisco Bay area-based hard rock band formed in 1974. Songs from their self-titled 1976 album were played by San Antonio radio DJ Joe Anthony, who gave it repeated airplay. In 1976, Y&T traveled to San Antonio to play their first Texas show at the old Municipal Auditorium, a concert promoted by San Antonio’s Jack Orbin of Stone City Attractions. According to Meniketti, San Antonio was an important tour stop for the band in their early days and helped to spread their profile through the Southwest United States.
