    AbstractThis study aims to describe expressive speech acts of PMI Unila Volunteer Corps members in WhatsApp Group and its implications in Indonesian language learning. This research uses qualitative method. Expressive speech acts commonly used by the members of PMI Unila Volunteer Corps are inform of sympathy, condolence, praise, congratulations, apologies, and thank you. Speech act of sympathy represents volunteer help, compassion, and caring. Speech act of  condolence represents sorrow, prayer, and loss. Speech act of praise represents appreciation, attention, and recognition. Speech act of congratulating represents the expression of success and joy. Speech act of apology represents worries and politeness.     WACANA PADANAN ISTILAH ASING-INDONESIA DAN KAITANNYA DENGAN PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA BAGI PENUTUR ASING (BIPA)

    Indonesian continues to experience the addition of foreign equivalent vocabulary, especially from English. It is anticipated by the Agency for Language Development or Language Development or its technical implementation unit (UPT), Balai Bahasa or Kantor Bahasa, by publishing a number of infographics in three sections, such as “Kata Kita Pekan Ini”, “Padanan Istilah”, and “Istilah Hari Ini”. All three became the equivalent of foreign-Indonesian discourse. This study uses content analysis techniques to the data in the form of discourse matched foreign-Indonesian terms. The validity of data in qualitative research is done with two concepts, namely the concept of validity and the concept of reliability. The result of the research shows that the foreign-Indonesian equivalent discourse can be used as instructional material in learning Indonesian for foreign speakers (BIPA), as well as a supporting tool in Indonesian language preaching

    Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Numbered Head Together (NHT) pada Materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV)

    The purpose of this research is to know the difference of mean of mathematics learning result of student applying NHT type cooperative learning model with mean of student learning result of mathematics applying direct learning model. This research uses quasi experimental research method. The population is all of class VIII SMP Negeri Besar in academic year 2016/2017. Sample technique used cluster random sampling technique. The number of samples that follow this research is 108 students. The data were analyzed using nonparametric statistic, Mann Whitney U-test with normal curve approach, because the sample was from non-distributed population. The result of this research are: 1) There is difference of mean of mathematics learning result of student applying cooperative learning model type NHT with mean result of student learning of mathematics applying direct learning model, 2) Average result of student learning of mathematics applying model NHT type cooperative learning is better than the average mathematics learning outcomes of students applying direct learning models.Keywords : NHT, nonparametric statistic, Mann Whitney U-test, learning outcome

    ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN PEMBUKTIAN MATEMATIS PADA MATAKULIAH TEORI BILANGAN

    The number theory course focuses on the activities of reasoning, reviewing, analyzing, and proving, which is a high level of cognitive ability. Especially for of a lot of proof errors are done by students. The purpose of this research is to analyze the students' of ability in the number theory course. The research method used is qualitative deductive research with research subjects amounted to 30 students semester three academic year 2017/2018. Data collection techniques use data triangulations. The results of mathematical proofing ability found that most of the students still have difficulty in solving the problem of proof. As many as 60% of the research sample has not understood how to solve the problem of proof. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the student has not be able to optimize all capabilities, especially the proof of mathematics in working on the number theory that tends to give up in working on problems when experiencing difficulties

    This current research describes the application of GBA in teaching writing to university students. It was conducted by observing an English teacher in implementing GBA in his class. The result showed that he had fully implemented GBA which worked very well with the students in the beginner level. The roles of the teacher found were as an expert (BKOF, MOT), a resource person (BKOF), a director (BKOF), a facilitator (BKOF, JCOT), an observer (JCOT), feedback giver (JCOT, ICOT). The result implies that GBA is effective to improve the students’ writing skill and should be considered to implement in writing classes.

    This research aims to describe the forms, the types and the focus of assertive utterance used in readers’ forum on Jakarta post newspaper. This research is descriptive qualitative research. In collecting assertive utterances, the researcher uses observation method combined with noting technique. In analyzing the data, the researcher uses descriptive qualitative method. The result of analysis shows there are two forms of assertive namely direct and indirect assertive. The types of assertive are categorized into five; asserting, reporting, explaining, showing something, and suggesting. Results of observations and statistical data for 40 years, mentioned there are differences between the characteristics of each blood group. Blood type is lowered by blood type of biological parents.     Students are at the stage of the final teenage development task. At this stage, one of the teenagers' developmental tasks is to choose, prepare to run a job and make career planning. Career selection requires more careful preparation and planning than just getting a temporary job. Career planning is influenced by career development which is a series of changes that occur at every level of life. Student Motivation in Participation It is an encouragement from students to follow lectures in accordance with their wishes, their wills, and be able to see their interests, talents and ability to plan for the future. Based on the calculation results obtained that the correlation shows the probability 0.000 <0.05.     Paradoxical Intention Within Group Counseling to Reduce Student Verbal Aggression

    This research aimed to find out the effectiveness of group counseling with paradoxical intention technique to reduce student verbal aggression. Researchers utilize quasi-experiment method and pretest-posttest design. The sample of this study is students of SMPN 2 Buay Runjung OKU Selatan Period of 2016, which classified in high verbal aggression after filling self-report verbal aggression scale. The data were analyzed with Wilcoxon signed ranks test. Based on Wilcoxon singed rank test Z -2,534 with asymp. Sig 0,012, it meant group counseling with paradoxical intention effective to reduce student verbal aggression.Keywords: Group counseling, paradoxical intention, verbal aggression
