    DEVELOPING LEARNING MEDIA THROUGH MACROMEDIA FLASH APPLICATION FOR ENGLISH PHONOLOGY CLASS

    The purpose of this study is to develop a learning media model using the Macromedia Flash application to be used in English Phonology learning and to determine the feasibility of appropriate Macromedia Flash-based learning media to support English Phonology learning. This research is a Research and Development Research (R & D) with stages (1) Stages of Analysis, namely Identifying the objectives of Learning Media and Identifying Student Characteristics; (2) Design Stages, namely Designing learning materials and Designing learning media design using the Macromedia Flash program; (3) Production stages, namely Producing learning materials, Authoring materials, and Editing learning materials; (4) Evaluation Stages, namely Material Expert Review, Media Expert Review, and Test on students.The results show that the English Phonology learning media products have met the rules of research and development and are effectively used in the learning process for Students of the English Language Department of IAIN Metro Lampung

    INVESTIGATING THE IMPACT OF MICROTEACHING LESSON STUDY TO THE PROSPECTIVE ENGLISH TEACHERS’ SELF-EFFICACY

    This study aims to investigate the English pre-service teachers’ self-efficacy after experiencing a three-week microteaching lesson study project. There were thirty-nine pre-service teachers participated in this study. In a group of five persons, they were assigned to do three times of thirty-minutes-microteaching practices. Microteaching lesson study model was used in this research. A questionnaire and an interview were distributed after the project was completed. The questionnaire measured the students’ self-efficacy while the interview explored the student-teachers’ perceptions toward the project. Results indicated that the microteaching lesson study has a good impact on the self-efficacy of the prospective English teachers

    INCREASING STUDENT LEARNING CONCENTRATION IN WRITING USING PROJECT BASED LEARNING

    Based on the results of observations made on students of class IX.2 of SMP Muhammadiyah Pringsewu, the researchers found several symptoms that lead to the weak concentration of students. This study was focus on handling students' concentration problems in learning English, especially, in writing through Project Based Learning.  It was Collaborative Action Research. The data collecting techniques used classroom observation, student reflection, and questionnaires. In analyzing the data, the researcher adopted Burns’ theory. The results showed that the use of Project Based Learning was able to improve the students’ learning concentration in writing activity

    PROVIDING EXPLICIT STRATEGY INSTRUCTION TO ENHANCE STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION AT ENGLISH FOR ISLAMIC STUDIES CLASS

    The aim of research  is to identify the effects and advantages of providing explicit strategy instruction to enhance students’ reading comprehension at English for Islamic Studies class of IAIN Pontianak. This was a classroom action research, and its data were collected through reading comprehension test, observation, interview, and document review. Then, the data were analysed though interactive model data analysis. The results showed that, after providing explicit instruction of comprehension strategy, students’ reading comprehension improved for they became more strategic and more metacognitive when reading after being introduced with reading comprehension strategy explicitly.

    This article reveals the phenomenon of speaking anxiety in two foreign languages, Arabic and English, simultaneously studied by students of Islamic junior high school in Indonesia.  It is aimed at analyzing the differences of level, causes as well as coping strategies of speaking anxiety in Arabic and English faced by the respondents.A survey inquiry was conducted by employing questionnaires to gather the data of respondents’level, causes and coping strategies of speaking anxiety.  The analysis indicates a similarity of speaking anxiety level of the two languages, yet some major differences regarding the prominent causes occur. Keywords: Speaking anxiety; Arabic; English; Indonesian student

    Kesehatan reproduksi adalah suatu keadaan sehat secara menyeluruh, yang meliputi aspek fisik, mental dan sosial, bukan sekedar tidak adanya penyakit atau gangguan disegala hal yang berkaitan dengan sistem reproduksi, fungsinya dan proses reproduksi itu sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan mengidentifikasi perbedaan pemahaman remaja perempuan berkenaan dengan kesehatan reproduksi di SMPN 12 Padang dan MTsN 1 Kota Padang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis deskriptif komparatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswi SMPN 12 Padang sebanyak 120 orang dan siswi MTsN 1 Kota Padang sebanyak 80 orang, penarikan sampel dengan menggunakan teknik Simple Random Sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket. Data dianalisis dengan teknik persentase, dan melihat perbedaan pemahaman kesehatan reproduksi dengan menggunakan teknik uji-t dengan memanfaatkan program SPSS 20.00. Temuan penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa: (1) secara keseluruhan pemahaman remaja perempuan di SMPN 12 Padang dan MTsN 1 Kota Padang berada pada kategori memahami dengan persentase sebesar 64,5%, dan (2) uji-t menyatakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan berkenaan dengan pemahaman remaja perempuan terhadap kesehatan reproduksi di SMPN 12 Padang dan MTsN 1 Kota Padang, yang mana rata-rata pemahaman remaja di MTsN 1 Kota Padang lebih Tinggi dari pada SMPN 12 Padang

    ABSTRAKTujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) perbedaan rerata hasil belajar matematika siswa dengan model pembelajaran NHT  pendekatan CTL dan rerata hasil belajar matematika siswa yang dikenai model pembelajaran TPS dengan pendekatan CTL, (2) rerata hasil belajar matematika siswa dengan model pembelajaran NHT  pendekatan CTL lebih baik dari pada rerata hasil belajar matematika siswa dengan model pembelajaran  TPS dengan pendekatan CTL. Seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP N 2 Sukoharjo tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 merupakan populasi dalam penelitian dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yakni dengan cluster random sampling. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan anava satu jalan dengan sel yang sama. Dari analisis data disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar matematika siswa yang dikenai model pembelajaran NHT pendekatan CTL dengan rata-rata hasil belajar matematika siswa yang dikenai model pembelajaran TPSpendekatan CTL dan rata-rata hasil belajar matematika siswa yang dikenai melalui model pembelajaran  NHT  pendekatan CTL lebih baik dari pada rata-rata hasil belajar matematika siswa yang dikenai model pembelajaran TPS dengan pendekatan CTL.Key Word : NHT, TPS, CT

    The purpose of this research describe the slang among adolescents in Group-Whats up (WA), Instagram Status and Face book (FB) are examined based on the structure of morphological, phonological and syntactic. The theory of Sociolinguistics and Morfosintaksis used as a scalpel in the research. Sociolinguistic theory is used to analyze the factors that influence language and function usage whereas Morfosintaksis used to analyze the process of formation of the words in the "language" of gaul, with the qualitative methods of analysis and structurally, while presenting data using descriptive analysis. The results of the research findings in the form of words in the form of the phonological, morphological and syntactic and other findings in the form of the function "language" gaul as well as factors that influence language.Keywords: Morfologis, fonologis dan sintaksi
