HUBUNGAN KEMAMPUAN MATEMATIKA DENGAN POTENSI AKADEMIK MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI PENDIDIKAN MATEMATIKA IKIP PGRI PONTIANAK
Get PDFAbstract: This study aims to examine the relationship between math skills with the academic potential of students IKIP PGRI Pontianak. This study is correlational research design bivariate correlation. The population in the study were all students of Mathematics Education Semester IV consists of four study groups (classes) that two morning classes (A and B) and two afternoon classes (A and B). With purposive sampling technique was chosen as a class A sample. Based on the results obtained by regression analysis using SPSS t value of 0.379 and a significance of 0.707 > 0.01, which means that H0 accepted. Thus we can conclude there is no significant relationship between mathematical skills with academic potential of students IKIP PGRI Pontianak.Keywords: relationship , math skills , academic potential
PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN TSTS DENGAN AKTIFITAS WINDOW SHOPPING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR BANGUN RUANG SISI DATAR
Get PDFAbstract The implementation of TSTS learning with window shopping activities can foster student interest and improve mathematics learning outcomes. Students have extensive opportunities to work together and learn to communicate the results of their group discussions. The study aims to improve the learning outcomes of building flat side space. Subjects in this study were students of class VIII.4 SMP Negeri 3 Pringsewu Lesson Year 2014/2015. The study was conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 3 meetings. The instrument used is the script about test and observation sheet of learning activities. To know the students' initial ability before being given the action the students are given pretest with the average result reaching 54,76. After the treatment, the average value of the test in the first cycle reached 69.86 and on the second cycle the average test value reached 80.88. In conclusion, the implementation of TSTS learning with window shopping activities can improve the learning outcomes of building the flat-side room of students of grade VIII.4 SMP Negeri 3 Pringsewu Lesson Year 2014/2015.Keywords: Two Stay Two Stray, Window Shoppin
THE EFFECTS OF LOGICAL THINKING AND VOCABULARY MASTERY TOWARDS STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION AT STATE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN EAST JAKARTA
Get PDFABSTRACTThe aim of this research is to find out and analyze empirically the effects of logical thinking and vocabulary mastery towards students’ reading comprehension. Research method used was survey. The observed population of this research is twelfth grade students from SMA Negeri 88, SMA Negeri 98 and SMA Negeri 106 in East Jakarta.The sample was taken through simple random sampling and 60 students as samples of this research. For collecting data, the instruments used in this research were tests (multiple choices) to measure Logical thinking, vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension. The data then was analyzed by using descriptive statistics, multiple correlation coefficient, and determination coefficient and regression analysis. Previously, the requirements test has been accomplished before analyzing the data, such as normality and linearity test. The result of this research explained that there is significant effect of logical thinking and vocabulary mastery concurrently toward students’ reading comprehension with correlation coefficient 0,901 and determination coefficient 0,812 or 81,2%. The regression equation is stated Ŷ=17.894+0.543X1+0.386X2. The result has also shown Fobserved =122,732 > 3,16 (Ftable) and Sig= 0,000 < 0,05.Partially, there is significant effect of logical thinking towards students’ reading comprehension. The result has shown the score of Sig = 0,000 < 0,05 and ttest = 4,324. There is significant effect of vocabulary mastery towards students’ reading comprehension. Research is believed to be one of the pillars of science development. Simply scientific research is a consequence of human curiosity. Philosophy is a parameter of ontology science, epistemology, axiology, rhetorical structure, and methodology discussed throughout the paradigm of positivism, postpositivism, constructivism-interpretivism, and perspective-criticism. In the sense of finding solutions, discovering new things, explaining phenomena - correlation - comparability, repositioning truth, finding critics - theories - assumptions, reductions of circumstances or conditions change with expectations. Counseling research is expected to be able to explain, reposition, critic, and find an investigative approach within the identified research paradigm. The research will continue from various paradigms. Currently, counselors are experiencing various obstacles to implement meaningful counseling services and have an effect on students. One effort to improve the quality of counseling services is with the use of creative arts, namely one visual art. There are five premises for the use of visual arts in counseling, namely: (1) describing the subconscious and helping the individual reveal secret conflicts that they did not reveal initially; (2) symbolize feelings in a unique, real, and powerful way; (3) to inspire and help counselees to achieve their personal growth; (4) assisting counselee especially children not feel threatened with counseling implementation; and (5) can easily be combined with other creative arts such as movement, creative writing, and imagery. POLITE REQUEST STRATEGIES BY MALE AND FEMALE OF ENGLISH LEARNERS
Get PDFThe present study investigated request strategy by non-native English speakers. The study focused at the rank of imposition in the choice of request and politeness strategy between twenty five males and females of postgraduate English students Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The data were collected by discourse completion tests (DCT) which consisted of six situations. Their responses were categorized using the scale of Trosborg request theory and Brown and Levinson politeness. The findings showed that the students utilized hearer oriented conditions strategy when uttered to the hearer with higher status. However, the male students tended to use direct request strategy in the situation when they had high position status. The combination request strategy was used to pressure the intention of request utterance. The male and female students also used some supportive moves in their utterance

Both have a different starting point, the philosophy developed using speculative-reflective approach, while science using deductive-inductive approach. Relations binding both like two sides of a coin. Philosophy gave birth to science and science contributed to philosophy. Besides, philosophy and science have the same goal of seeking the truth for the sake of the welfare of mankind. The results generated from both truths are relative and relative so that people will always explore, revise, and reconstructed the philosophy and knowledge that already exists, the goal is to find a new truth. Education and guidance and counseling is one branch of the ideas of philosophy and science. The goal of both is to develop human potential and to make a prosperous and happy human life. Oriented education in the process of making a man of what their condition becomes the condition of how it should be. Guidance and counseling as a branch of science education have different characteristics with education itself. The education process emphasizes the cognitive aspects of counseling and guidance while stressing the affective aspect.
