Enhancing ideal personal qualities of counselor candidates: Empowering through digital module and peer modelling
Universities aim to achieve intelligent education through innovative learning methods. Students desire models to develop their skills, and this can be achieved through peer modelling with their peers. This research aims to develop a peer modelling-based digital module to enhance students' understanding of the Personality Development Practicum course, as an effort to improve the ideal personal qualities of prospective counselors. The research design uses the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects in this study are material experts (guidance and counseling lecturers), media experts (learning technology lecturers), and potential users (guidance and counseling students). The results show that the digital module is equipped with video explanations, PowerPoint, infographics, motion graphics, and peer modelling videos. Based on the validation results by material experts, media experts, and potential users, the digital module is considered valid in terms of accuracy, usefulness, attractiveness, and ease of use. Further empirical evidence is needed to support the use of the peer modelling-based digital module in developing the ideal personal qualities of prospective counselors
Developing the Adolescent Career Success Instrument (ACSI): A Rasch Model analysis
Career success is an individual's ability to achieve self and work success. There are various instruments to determine individual career success. However, there has not been a career success instrument specifically developed for adolescents. This study aims to develop and validate The Adolescent Career Success Instrument (ACSI) using the Rasch model analysis. Participants in this study consisted of 3 guidance and counseling experts for the constructed test, 4 students for the readability test, and 106 students (33 male students and 73 female students) from high school for the empirical test. ACSI reliability test results show that the item reliability is 0.90 in a good category, while the personal reliability is 0.85 in a good category. Cronbach's alpha value is 0.91 in the very good category. The results of the ACSI analysis using the Rasch model showed that 49 reliable items could be used to measure adolescent career success
Metacognitive Awareness in Engineering Students: SEM Analysis of Self-regulated Learning, Self Efficacy, and Learning Motivation
This study aims to explore the impact of self-regulated learning, self efficacy, and learning motivation on the metacognitive awareness of engineering students at the university level. A total of 358 students participated in the research, selected through purposive sampling. The participants had completed at least one semester of coursework, ensuring they had enough academic experience to reliably assess the study variables. Data was gathered via a survey and examined using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the SmartPLS 3 software. Findings reveal that, in direct effect analysis, self-regulated learning and self efficacy do not significantly influence metacognitive awareness, whereas learning motivation does. However, in indirect effect analysis, both of them exert a significant impact on metacognitive awareness through the moderating role of learning motivation. These results suggest that self-regulated learning and self efficacy are not enough to spark awareness of one’s own thinking processes, motivation contributes importantly to this relationship

The Data were analyzed using Spearman Correlation. The findings show no significant relationship between positive emotion and harsh parenting, as well as between negative emotion and harsh parenting. Several factors such as parents’ age, family economy, and children’s level of education may influence the findings, although the specific influence of these factors needs further research
Students’ self-compassion and academic resilience in pandemic era
During the covid-19 pandemic, 12th grade high school students felt more stressed and tired due to a continued isolation. Therefore, academic resilience is needed so that students can face existing academic problems. It was found that self-compassion can foster resilience. This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-compassion using the Indonesian version of the Self-Compassion Scale and Academic Resilience using the Academic Resilience Scale-30. 277 participants from 12th grade high school students who are distance learning took part in this correlational research. Results show that there is a positive correlation between self-compassion and academic resilience. This therefore results in a new finding of how students could be more academically resilient in facing academic burdens during the pandemic. To get a more comprehensive picture, future studies could explore more demographic data, such as whether anyone assists students while distance learning and how stressed students are
Depression, anxiety, and stress among first-year students and undergraduate students during the Covid-19 pandemic
Stress and anxiety are becoming more common and prone to occur among first-year students who are undergoing the transition period from high school to university because new learning methods, when compared to undergraduate students will be more susceptible to depression due to the demands of completing a thesis. This research aims to difference in the level of stress, anxiety, depression of first-year and undergraduate students and differences in terms of gender at the Department of Psychology, Universitas Negeri Padang during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is quantitative with a comparative study and obtained 592 respondents using stratified random sampling. Data collection of a Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale (DASS-42). The data analysis techniques are carried out data analysis requirements with homogeneity and normality tests followed by hypothesis testing with t-tests. The result as for the depression variable there were significant differences with percentages in the level of first-year students and undergraduate students of 22.7% (mild) and 20.2% (extremely severe) respectively. The high prevalence in the first-year and undergraduate students of college life is alarming. It illustrates the need for primary and secondary prevention measures, with the development of adequate and appropriate support services for this group
