    A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE SPEED AND SECURITY OF INTERNET BROWSERS: GOOGLE CHROME, MOZILLA FIREFOX, MICROSOFT EDGE, BRAVE AND OPERA

    This study investigates the speed and security of five internet browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Opera. Evaluating startup time, search speed, webpage loading, and security features including VPN and AdBlocker, it identifies variations in data collection and privacy practices. Notably, Opera demonstrates the highest security with minimal third-party connections. However, concerns arise with Microsoft Edge\u27s data aggregation practices. This research underscores the importance of considering both speed and security when selecting a browser, contributing to informed decision-making in internet usage

    Within the framework of the LBTU Malnava College project "The influence of growing conditions on ornamental plants", a study was conducted, the aim of which was to evaluate the influence of the sky on the growth of ornamental plants and herbs and the phenolic content of mint and lemon balm leaves when grown in an urban garden. According to the obtained results, it was concluded that the differences in phenol content are more significant only for mint and this difference can be influenced not only by the fact that the plants were grown in an urban environment, but also .by many other factors such as climate, fertilization, soil composition, precipitation, etc

    The topic being analyzed in this article is Minimum wages in the Baltic countries. Authors paper analyzes the effect of the rise of the minimum wages within the Baltic States, particularly in Lithuania. Authors utilized SurveyMonkey website to aid in obtaining information about the effect of the minimum wage in Lithuania- particularly to do with price changes, redundancy as well as differences in the effect of minimum wage with respect to differing genders as well as ages and wage bands. Higher minimum wages, despite being controversial, are observed to be beneficial for the economy due to their effects on immigration and the perception of locals on their ability to cope with prices rising as well as their perception on experiencing the benefits of minimum wages increasing. Upon completion of survey, authors used SPSS software to effectively analyze results and determine any correlations.

    Purpose and aim of the study: the aim of the paper is to develop principles that project managers should consider when managing the concerns of stakeholders. To achieve this aim, the following tasks have been set: to examine the concept of stakeholder concerns and determine the actions to be taken before implementing stakeholder concern management principles.Design/Methodology/Approach: the monographic and descriptive methods, the logical construction method, the graphical method. Main Findings: the paper examines the concept of stakeholder concerns and highlights the key management principles: responding to weak signals, a joint decision-making process, and information transparency. Based on the research findings, focusing on these solutions can significantly reduce stakeholder concerns. By decreasing the level of these concerns, managing the stakeholder becomes easier, leading to project success. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential for the successful implementation of any project. Originality: the paper proposes the circumstances in which the concept of stakeholder concerns should be used and develops previously unpublished principles for managing stakeholder concerns in project management. Implications: based on the research findings and applying the author`s proposed principles, stakeholder concerns can be significantly reduced, minimizing these concerns facilitates the management of stakeholders and increases the likelihood of project success. The author`s recommendations are relevant for practical project managers and researchers.

    The spread of Covid-19 virus infection, in 2020 Latvian legislator adopted several legal norms expanding the possibilities of courts to hear the case in written proceedings or videoconferencing at the expense of restrictions to the oral hearing in presence of the parties. The authors argue why the application of these restrictions, set out in the Covid-19 Infection Control Act (in Latvian – “Covid-19 infekcijas izplatības pārvaldības likums”) may result in human rights violations, and make suggestions for better regulation so that the fight to protect public health is not conducted at the expense of unreasonable restrictions on the right to a fair trial and privacy

    REFUSAL TO INITIATE THE CASSATION PROCEEDINGS IN CRIMINAL CASES: PROCEDURAL ASPECTS AND A PRACTICE OF THE SENATE

    The decision on refusing to initiate cassation proceedings, like any other decision made by the court of cassation, has the fundamental importance both in ensuring the rights of the individual and in the uniform interpretation and application of legal norms. On October 25, 2018, the law „Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Law” entered into force, by which procedural order of initiation of the cassation proceedings in criminal cases have been significantly changed. Decision on refusing to initiate cassation proceedings has to be made collegially by three judges and it shall be motivated. The Senate\u27s practice of refusal to initiate cassation proceedings continues to develop. The aim of the research is to study the legal framework and the Senate’s practice in refusing of initiation cassation proceedings
