Pengembangan Profesionalisme Guru Madrasah Tsanawiyah di Kabupaten Madiun
This research serves a consideration for the Municipality Office of Religion Department and the managerial staff of schools under this area in effort of developing the teachers’ professionalism. Even when the competency-based curriculum does not suggest the central role of teachers, they still have important roles in developing and producing science. They are in charge of managing the process of the science development, which in turn needs professionalism. The development of teachers’ professionalism is inevitably important focus of the stakeholders. The research is conducted at Madrasah Tsanawiah around Madiun Regency under: 1) observation, and 2) interview techniques. The analysis is carried out by quantitative and qualitative approaches. The analysis results in conclusions as follows: 1) the development of teachers’ professionalism has become the rational conduct at the Madrasah by underpinning strategies, such as: sending teachers to higher scolarships and training programs. The regulation of national education system requires the teachers’ professionalism, like the regulation No 2, 1989, No 20, 2003, and the regulation for teachers and lecturers. 2) Although they realize that the higher shcolarship is not risk-free, teachers are eager to join them for the professionalism development and their better life to live
Uji Efektivitas Model Pembelajaran Budi Pekerti dengan Pendekatan Konstruktivistik di SMP Kota Madiun
This research serves a thorough outlook on the effectiveness of models of learning morality in Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan subject by constructivist approach for the students of SMP-s around Madiun Municipality. The research makes use of quasi experiment approach by factorial design 2 x 2. The effectiveness of teaching-learning process is evaluated under qualitative method. The subjects of the research include 625 students which belong to grade 1 and 2 of SMP in Madiun Municipality. The analysis results in conclusion that constructivist approach raise the grade 1 students’ achievement by F(1.318)=4.463, p = 0.035. the consistent result is also achieved by the grade 2 students’ achievement by F(1.298) = 118.309, p = 0.000. The qualitatative evaluation on the model also shows significance
PENINGKATAN KUALITAS PEMBELAJARAN DOSEN MELALUI PENUGASAN DI SEKOLAH
The quality of products of a Teacher Training Institution does not merely depend on the grade point everage they pursue, but also on the competitive advantage they gain during the learning process to fight for position and apply the pedagogical priciples in the work market share. The quality of teaching and' learning process in the campus should be then fitted to such needs of the market share, which can be done by sending lecturers to schools as apprentice teachers.This Peer Grant Research is aimed at: 1) developing the quality of lecturers' instruction, 2) developing relationship between IKIP PGRI Madiun and the peer institutions, 3) searching and implementing alternative strategies for teaching and learning effectiveness. Collaborative teaching between lecturers of IKIP PGRI Madiun and teachers of SMP N 11 Madiun is designed to: 1) observe the existing condition of classes, 2) discuss for developing alternative strategies, 3) arrange and implement the instructional design, 4) conduct teaching and learning process, and 5) suggest evaluation. Class observation, questionaire and interview are used to draw data from 7 subjects in research, i.e.: Bahasa Indonesia, English, Natural Science, Social Science, Math, Civics and Counseling.The results of the research can be outlined as follows: 1) lecturers develop their classes by inspecting and implementing directly the instruction in real scholls' classes, 2) identification against weaknesses in schools' classes can be arranged for further evaluation, 3) the campus develops teacher training instructional designs based on field inventions, 4) collaborative team invent alternative strategies in classes, 5) lecturers experience real schools classes so as to develop their instructional design, 6) teachers are motivated to continously develop their teaching to gain optimal out-come
PEMILIHAN STATEGI BELAJAR OLEH MAHASISWA BEDA GENDER DI KELAS SPEAKING, IKIP PGRI MADIUN
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi tentang pemilihan strategi belajar di kelas speaking oleh mahasiswa beda gender di IKIP PGRI Madiun. Penelitian ini di fokuskan untuk memaparkan bagaimana mahasiswa laki-laki dan mahasiswa perempuan meningkatkan kemampuan speaking dan untuk mengetahui mengapa mereka memilih strategi tersebut.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli 2007 sampai Pebruari 2008 di IKIP PGRI Madiun. Berdasarkan masalah penelitian, metode penelitian ini adalah naturalistik kualitatif yang pada akhirnya bisa menghasilkan grounded-theory. Dalam penelitian ini ada 20 informan terdiri dari 12 mahasiswa perempuan dan 8 mahasiswa laki-laki. Data di peroleh melalui observasi, interview mendalam, questioner, dan analisa dokumen. Data yang terkumpul dianalisa menggunakan metode constant comparative buatan Glaser dan Strauss. Sedangkan questioner dianalisa menggunakan SILL yang dimodifikasi dari buatan Oxford dan penilaian speaking menggunakan FSI oral interview yang telah dilengkapi dengan table score dan konversinya.Hasil penelitian dipaparkan berdasar pada masalah penelitian yaitu: pertama, mahasiswa perempuan menggunakan enam strategi belajar secara bersamaan pada saat berbicara bahasa Inggris didepan kelas meskipun frekuensi penggunaannya bervariasi, dengan score SILL antara 3,5 sampai 4,5. Kemudian alasan mengapa mereka memilih strategi tersebut dapat di kategorikan berdasar karakteristik informan dalam mempelajari bahasa, kepribadian, latar belakang psikologi dan latar belakang budaya. Berdasarkan karakteristik informan dalam mempelajari bahasa, mahasiswa perempuan lebih baik daripada mahasiswa laki-laki baik dari segi pengucapan, penyusunan kalimat yang gramatikal dan penggunaan penanda kesopanan. Dalam hasil penelitian juga terlihat bahwa mahasiswa perempuan sebagai pribadi yang sabar, lembut, juga pendengar yang baik meskipun sedikit dipengaruhi budaya Jawa yang cenderung memposisikan mereka sedikit lebih rendah daripada laki-laki. Beberapa mahasiswa perempuan juga terlihat cepat gugup dan lemah pada saat presentasi di depan kelas saat mereka sedang dating bulan. Kedua, berdasarkan questioner mahasiswa laki-laki lebih sering menggunakan dua strategi belajar yaitu compensation dan metacognitive strategies pada level medium dengan score antara 3,0 sampai 4,4. Berbeda dengan mahasiswa perempuan, secara psikologi mahasiswa laki-laki lebih baik karena mereka tidak mengalami masalah rutin bulanan. Lebih jelasnya, semakin banyak strategi belajar yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa maka kemampuan speaking mereka akan lebih baik
KETRAMPILAN MANAJER KEPALA SEKOLAH, IKLIM SEKOLAH DAN KINERJA GURU MTs (MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH) DI KABUPATEN MADIUN
The objectives of this research is to serve for description about the significance of managerial skill of the head-masters and the school's culture towards the teachers' performance at the state and private MTs in Madiun District. The population of this research includes 651 teachers, and the sample drawn out of the population covers 90 teachers. The techniques of accumulating the data are questionnaire and documentation. The data analysis techniques applied are descriptive statistics and inferential statistics under multiple regression statistic technique. The analysis on the data results in conclusion that there is a significance influence of the managerial skill of the head-masters and the schools' culture towards the teachers' performance at the state and private MTs in Madiun District (the working F= 32.331 > table F = 2.000). The significance of the managerial skill of the head-masters towards the teachers' 'performance is also put in research. The research also put in description about the managerial skill of the head-masters, the schools' culture and the teachers' performance at state and private MTs in Madiun District
