No full textThis summer, I participated in the Summer Institute in Biostatistics and Data Science (SIBS) at Boston University, a 10-week program that deepened my understanding of biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, and clinical trials. The first five weeks were intensive, in-person learning, while the last five weeks were remote, where I collaborated on a research project analyzing tuberculosis (TB) cases in Ukraine. Using stepwise logistic regression, our team investigated factors associated with rifampin resistance, identifying key determinants such as urban living, homelessness, and clinical factors like HIV status and TB type. This experience expanded my skills in R, SAS, and data analysis, reinforced my interest in epidemiology, and helped me realize my preference for statistical research over laboratory work. It also affirmed my desire to pursue a PhD in epidemiology, equipped me with valuable networking opportunities, and provided clarity on my career path and academic goals
