The paper reflects on how my original learning objectives, developing leadership, strengthening communication, and gaining organizational skills, were met through both on-court coaching and behind-the-scenes responsibilities. No full textThis paper reflects on my summer internship at La Clínica de La Raza – CASA CHE in Oakland, California, and the ways it connected to what I have been studying at Connecticut College. During my time there, I saw firsthand how immigrant and Spanish-speaking families struggle to access healthcare because of barriers such as language differences, citizenship status, and a lack of resources. I also developed skills in outreach, health education, and cross-cultural communication, while at the same time recognizing the difficulties of working with patients who spoke Indigenous languages. Overall, this experience pushed me to think more deeply about my future career goals in psychology and policy, especially how I can play a role in reducing healthcare inequities in communities like my own
