Changing NFL Playoff Overtime Rules to Create Equal Opportunities to Win a Game
The NFL has attempted to create fair overtime rules over the course of the past decade; however, this study is interested in determining what playoff overtime rule (or rules) could the NFL implement to result in outcomes where both teams have a relatively equal chance of winning a game. This study aims to find which overtime rules work best at minimizing the differences between teams who possess the ball first versus teams that kick the ball off to start an overtime period. By collecting various NFL statistics from ESPN.com and FantasyOutsiders.com, this study hopes to run multiple simulations of different overtime scenarios, to minimize the differences of win percentages between all teams. After collecting win percentages of all teams, this study will look to see if there is any significant improvement in decreasing the difference of win percentages. The goal of this study is to determine a method in which the NFL can effectively allow for both teams to win a game in a playoff overtime scenario
A Review Of The Effect Of ESG On Sin Firms
In this study, we examine the impact of ESG on stock returns and portfolio returns for sin stocks. The relationship between ESG and stock prices has been a topic of interest for research in recent years with the increasing emphasis on ESG in society. The present study analyzes the ESG scores for nine specific sin stock industries: tobacco, gambling, alcohol, adult entertainment, firearm, military, nuclear power, bioengineering, and oil and gas. This study is conducted through the use of statistical analysis with data collected from COMPUSTAT, CRSP, and MSCI. Our results reveal that ESG is negatively correlated with sin firm stock prices. The low ESG portfolio outperformed the high ESG portfolio, but the low ESG portfolio did not outperform the market. However, this relationship only held for the first half of the period being tested. This study is for management and investor use alike, with the goal of determining whether ESG performance in sin firms enhances stock prices and portfolio returns. This study fills a gap in the literature specifically examining the effects of ESG on sin stock returns
The Impact of Doctor-Patient Communication, Health Literacy, and Mental Health among Women with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus on Healthcare Usage
Pregnancy is a critical period in a woman\u27s life. Overall, little research has been done on pregnant women. Pregnant women are considered a special population with special needs. All pregnant women must receive proper care from their providers and be a part of the decision-making process. Additionally, health care providers must provide materials to patients in hopes to increase their health literacy. Increasing health care usage and health literacy is meant to increase patient-centered care. This study plans to use the All of Us data set. We are interested in the data from the survey component of the data set. Participants respond to questions on a variety of topics, such as lifestyle, demographics, and health care. The goal of this study is to determine how much of an impact doctor-patient communication, health literacy, and mental health have on women with gestational diabetes
