Factors affecting electronic government adoption among Algerian petroleum companies: The moderating role of government policy and trust
E-government is a global trend that accelerates across countries, which affiliates firm’s internal and external connections and transactions, resulting in firm’s transparency and efficiency. However, interoperability within organisations is limited and ineffective in developing countries like Algeria. The current study aimed to identify factors influencing e-government adoption in Algeria context, based on the Diffusion of Innovation Theory (DOI) and the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework. The TOE framework includes technological, organisational, and environmental aspects. IT infrastructure, security, and web design are the dimensions of technological factors. Top management support, strategy, and organisational culture are the elements of organisational factors. Finally, environmental factors include awareness, training, and rules and regulations. Government policy and trust are examined as moderators to the relationship between TOE factors and e-government adoption. Twenty-seven hypotheses were tested in this study. Data were collected from 170 top management executives of petroleum companies (65.4% of response rate) in four regions of Algeria (south, north, west, and east) using a postal questionnaire. SPSS version 26.0 and PLS-SEM 3.3.3 were used to analyse the data. Overall, the findings showed that technological and organisational factors impact Algerian petroleum companies’ e-government adoption across multiple dimensions. When government policy and trust were added as moderators in the model, the relationship between TOE factors and e-government adoption shifted slightly. However, for government policy, only security, web design, training, and rules and regulations found to be moderating the interrelationship. Meanwhile, only security was moderated by trust towards e-government adoption. IT infrastructure and top management support are two of the most critical factors influencing e-government adoption. The current research findings can specifically assist Algerian firms, especially petroleum companies, in gaining a better understanding of the e-government adoption process. The firms are suggested to have a strong IT infrastructure and top management support in order to improve their e-government adoption
The effects of corpus-based collocation approach using Pakistani English online newspapers on creative writing among secondary level EFL Pakistani learners
Research on the usage of lexical collocation to improve creative writing is considerably lacking in Pakistan, as researchers have been focusing on examining the impact of collocation on reading, speaking, and listening. Furthermore, it was observed that students at the secondary level faced difficulties in English writing. Their writing lacked adequate combinations of words according to the context. The present study intended to explore the effects of corpus-based collocation approach on creative writing among the EFL learners at the secondary level in Punjab, Pakistan. The research participants comprised 60 secondary- level students and pre-test and post-test were administrated to collect data quantitatively, and a paired samples T-test was applied to analyse the data statistically. The qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews and a thematic analysis was used to examine the themes in the responses of the students. The results of the study revealed that the participants of the two groups possessed inadequate collocation knowledge. The corpus-based collocation intervention was found to be strongly and significantly effective and assisted the students in the experimental group to enhance their collocation knowledge and creative writing. This study implies that collocation knowledge plays a significant role in enhancing EFL secondary learners’ creative writing

Knowledge and attitudes on Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD) towards MSD prevention practices among healthcare providers
Healthcare workers (HCWs) are particularly vulnerable to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) due to the physically demanding nature of their profession. Recent research highlights the widespread prevalence of these disorders among HCWs, yet it often goes undiagnosed, leading to long-term health consequences for individuals, organizations, and society. This study aims to evaluate the knowledge and attitudes regarding MSDs and their preventive practices among HCWs, as well as to assess the relationship of knowledge and attitude on MSD and preventive practice. This study employed a descriptive and cross-sectional study. A total of 130 HCWs (doctors/ assistant medical officers/ nurses/ health assistants) working at the emergency department at Hospital Tuanku Jaafar Seremban were sampled using cluster disproportional simple random sampling. Data collection involved a self-administered questionnaire covering respondent sociodemographic information and a Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) assessment on MSDs and MSD prevention practices. Results showed that the majority of the respondents possess a high knowledge and positive attitudes about MSDs. Furthermore, this study highlights a significant relationship between the HCWs attitudes on MSDs and the MSD preventive practices. However, despite good knowledge of MSD, there is still a large gap in practical preventative measures among HCW. This emphasizes the importance of coordinated joint efforts to bridge this gap and strengthen HCWs' preventative practice against MSDs. In conclusion, addressing the high prevalence of MSDs among HCWs necessitates collaborative efforts. Fostering a proactive culture of workplace safety and reorienting HCWs toward MSD preventative practices through a succinct and effective program could help to reduce the inadvertent high prevalence of MSDs

Investigating Sarawak collective identity through the narration of Sarawak nation-of-intent among Sarawak facebook users
This research investigates the distinct Sarawak collective identity within the context of Malaysia's diverse and often contentious notions of national identity. The Sarawak collective identity, accentuated by historical, cultural, and political influences including the Sarawak State Government's strategic positioning provides a rich subject for exploration and discussion. Utilizing Facebook, this study examines how online interactions on the social media platform aid the construction and reconstruction of Sarawak's collective identity. Through a multi-method qualitative approach that involves thematic, descriptive, and content analysis, this research scrutinizes the underlying narrative structure on Facebook concerning the discussion related to the keyword “Sarawak”. This research used Brand24 social media monitoring tool for its data-gathering process. The tool collected 57,932 posts between December 2018 and January 2019, of which 12,279 were from Facebook, representing 21.2% of the total posts gathered. After data cleaning, 987 high-engagement posts were selected and analyzed using QSR NVivo 12 Plus software while 197 posts were investigated using descriptive and content analysis to gauge users' reactions. From the data, there are six key themes identified: Socio-cultural, Economic, Political, Development, Constitutional and legal, and Border and security issues. These themes reflected the overall complex narrative of Sarawak's collective identity. They also unveiled consistent focal points within the discourse of Sarawak collective identity which are ethnic and cultural identity; historical identity; political identity; religious identity; and geographic identity. The active engagement and participation follow three major phases in the collective identity process, which are: cognition definition of the group; active relationship among members; and emotional recognition and investments between individuals through their mutual grievances and sense of solidarity. The findings of this research hold significant implications for policymakers, strategists, and educators. It provides invaluable insights for more sensitive and informed decisions regarding the complexity of Sarawak's perceived collective identity
The influence of reading strategies and vocabulary knowledge on Chinese EFL student's reading comprehension
This study examines the impact of a pedagogical intervention on the reading comprehension of Chinese English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students by integrating the instruction of reading strategies and vocabulary knowledge. Aligned with the English Curriculum Standard's goal of enhancing comprehensive language skills, the intervention addressed students' reading comprehension challenges and limited receptive and productive vocabulary, which frequently impede their ability to understand texts in high school exams. The research explored five key questions, including identifying the students' reading strategies, their vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension levels, and the relationships among these variables before and after the intervention. The study involved 60 first-year senior high school students from Liaoning Province, China, divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group participated in a structured intervention program emphasizing the development of reading strategies and vocabulary knowledge, while the control group adhered to traditional teaching methods, which mainly focused on rote memorization and repetitive exercises. Data were collected through questionnaires, pre-tests, and post-tests. It was analyzed using SPSS 29.0 and Excel. The initial questionnaire findings revealed that many students had limited reading strategies and were less motivated to actively participate in reading tasks. Pre-test results indicated no significant differences between the groups. However, post-test results showed substantial improvement in the experimental group's reading comprehension performance, demonstrating the effectiveness of the intervention in enhancing reading skills and overall English proficiency. This study concludes that the implementation of a pedagogical model integrating reading strategies and vocabulary instruction leads to a significant improvement in EFL students' reading comprehension. It highlights the importance of designing targeted interventions based on theoretical frameworks to support curriculum development and optimize teaching practices in EFL classrooms. Limitations of the study are discussed, and suggestions for future research are provide
A hybrid augmented reality model based on instructional design and usability principles of digital media art
With the fast-paced growth of digital media art (DMA), the inclusion of DMA education has now become a vital component of art education in colleges and universities. Still, traditional DMA teaching is often based on classroom teaching, which lacks interactivity and interest and makes it difficult to stimulate students' learning interest and enthusiasm. Therefore, integrating AR technology into educational environments shows great potential in enhancing the learning experience. In this thesis, an exploratory sequential mixed-method design is used to propose AR technology based on usability principles to design a DMA instructional design model to provide an immersive learning environment for students. This study firstly analyses the relevant theories of process safety and characteristics of pedagogical applications with AR technology through document research and then analyzes the status and challenges of DMA instructional applications. Then, the AR instructional design model was constructed by determining the usability principles through expert and user evaluation. Finally, to validity and accuracy of proposed models, DMA is verified by a survey on AR project picture book design for elementary school students. The results show that integrating usability principles into the design of the DMA augmented reality instructional model can significantly improve learner engagement, comprehension, and creativity, resulting in a more effective and immersive educational experience
