Incorporating shariah compliance, shariah awareness and perceived risk on contributor’s satisfaction behaviour in shariah retirement scheme
Retirement planning is essential for wealth management in preparing for the retirement phase. Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT) focuses on the correlation between risk and investment, which indirectly encourages investors to engage in financial literacy. These fundamentals are important as retirement planning and investment have a mutual relationship. Thus, investors would be able to experience reactions such as satisfaction behaviour. The product offered by EPF is Shariah-compliant and fits with the context of this study. This study aims to understand the contributors’ satisfaction behaviour on retirement planning when only the Shariah-compliant retirement scheme is applied in wealth management. Shariah-compliant retirement schemes have experienced growth over the years. However, there are unclear factors in determining the level of satisfaction of contributors with Shariah-compliant retirement schemes. This study incorporates Shariah compliance, Shariah awareness, and perceived risk as the independent factors in determining the satisfaction behaviour among the contributors. The study adopted the survey approach, using simple random sampling. Survey questionnaires were distributed among the contributors in the selected areas, namely Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Imperatively, the data was tested by Cronbach Alpha and EFA to improve the reliability of the survey. SPSS and Multiple Linear Regression analysis aided this study throughout analyzing the overall data to gain meaningful results. The research findings indicated Shariah compliance, Shariah awareness, and perceived risk positively correlate with contributors’ satisfaction. The study proved that perceived risk highly influences the satisfaction behaviour among the contributors of Shariah retirement schemes. This study could be revamped through future research by exploring on target respondents among rural population as well as including PRS contributors because this expansion would increase the schemes awareness and public association around Malaysia
Kesan moderasi iklim beretika terhadap hubungan antara kepimpinan transformasi, personaliti Big-5 dan integriti
Integrity in public service is crucial to create efficient administration and services through the application of good values. This also ensures the people's determination and trust in the services provided by civil servants. However, complaints received by the Public Complaints Bureau, shows that the services provided by various government agencies are still less satisfactory. Based on previous studies, there are several factors that influence the practice of integrity, namely leadership, individual and environmental factors. This study examines the moderating effect of ethical climate on the relationship between transformational leadership, Big-5 personality, and integrity. Transformational Leadership Theory and Trait Activation Theory acts as the underlying theories to explain the studied phenomenon. This quantitative study involved 131 government officials under Kedah state and was determined via purposive sampling method. Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS IBM) 25 software system and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) version 3 were used to analyze the data. The results of the study show that transformational leadership, agreeable personality, conscientiousness personality, and ethical climate have a significant relationship with integrity. Nevertheless, there is no significant relationship between extraversion personality, emotional stability personality, and openness personality with integrity. In fact, the moderating effect of ethical climate on the relationship between transformational leadership and Big-5 personality with integrity also did not have a significant relationship. The findings of this study are expected to help future researchers to understand the moderating effect of ethical climate on the relationship between transformational leadership and Big-5 personality with integrity

A usability model for chronic disease management mobile applications
The usability issues stand as one of the biggest obstacles to implement Mobile Healthcare Applications technologies. Consequently, the MHealth Apps users become confused in choosing the right apps for them. These applications must comply with the usability measure to ensure they can satisfy and are acceptable, especially chronic disease patients. Current usability evaluation models do not fulfill the usability characteristics and MHealth. These models tend to focus on the web application or general mobile apps. In addition, the evaluation of mHealth for further improvement becomes difficult or inaccurate. Thus, the main objective of this study is to construct a usability evaluation model for the chronic disease mobile application. A mixed methods research design was used in which qualitative data was collected using a systematic literature review to identify the usability characteristic and measures for MHealth. A purposive sampling technique was applied for semi-structured interviews with real users in gathering the usability requirements for the usability evaluation model. The usability characteristics and model development were verified by knowledge and domain experts. Usability testing was conducted with chronic disease patients as respondents, using chronic disease applications selected from an open-source mobile application to validate the implementation feasibility of the proposed model. Findings showed a total of five (5) usability characteristics, twelve (12) sub-characteristic, and forty-two (42) metrics were generated. The model was improvised based on the feedback from experts. This demonstrated the reliability, validity, and applicability of the model as guidelines to developers in developing the mobile healthcare application for chronic disease. This study makes a contribution by providing a usability model for usability practitioners and developers by incorporating new usability factors such as self-management as one of the usability factors for chronic disease. In addition, the model provides detailed guidelines to apply the model in evaluating mobile application to produce usable MHealth applications for patients with chronic diseases
The development of stochastic models for relative risk estimation in constructing pneumonia disease mapping in Malaysia
Pneumonia is one of the leading causes of death for infectious diseases especially in developing countries. Conventionally, its spread is only being monitored based on the total number of cases recorded without considering geographical distribution. Alternatively, disease mapping can be constructed based on the relative risk that includes a geographical distribution. A good disease mapping relies on the accuracy of relative risk estimated from the best-fitted statistical model. Therefore, this study aims to develop an alternative method in estimating the pneumonia relative risk based on four stochastic models: Susceptible-Infected-Carriers (SIC), Susceptible-Infected Recovered (SIR), Susceptible-Carrier-Infected-Recovered (SCIR), and Susceptible- Vaccinated-Carrier-Infected-Recovered (SVCIR). These estimated relative risks are then compared with those of the existing methods: Standardized Mortality Ratio (SMR), Poisson-gamma and Besag, York and Mollie (BYM) models. There are four phases in this study. Firstly, four deterministic models that are suitable for pneumonia disease transmission are selected, from which the stochastic models are developed. Next, these four stochastic models are applied to estimate the relative risk for pneumonia disease by analyzing pneumonia data in Malaysia from the year 2010 until the year 2019. The performance of these four stochastic models and existing methods is evaluated by comparing their relative risk values. Finally, the pneumonia risk maps are then constructed based on the relative risk values obtained. Findings show that there is a large gap in relative risk estimation values when using the stochastic SVCIR model compared to other models. The relative risk values when using stochastic SVCIR model decrease from high-risk level to medium risk level and from medium risk level to low-risk level. This situation occurs since stochastic SVCIR model allows for the spatial correlation between the areas and includes extra information in the model such as vaccination and carrier components. Application of the models on the Malaysian data shows that Putrajaya is identified as the highest risk of contracting pneumonia. This is because Putrajaya is the smallest area with the highest population growth rate in Malaysia. In conclusion, these stochastic models demonstrate better performance compared to the conventional models. Furthermore, these models are applicable to other infectious diseases with similar transmission characteristics. The disease mapping may assist the government in prioritizing areas that need further attention in gearing towards a sustainable health system
The intention to adopt model of infrastructure as a service-based e-learning in higher education institutions in Nigeria
The global demand for providing education for all in the context of Nigerian Higher Education Institutions signifies the urgent need for an effective and efficient method of delivering e-learning content. Presently, the developed countries are adopting Cloud-Based e-learning for its cost reduction, security, scalability, and the availability of e-learning content 24/7. However, the lack of adoption of the Infrastructure as-a Service-Based E-learning faces a threat to the availability and sustainability of e-learning in Nigeria. Thus, the limited studies on its adoption further demonstrate this. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the factors that influence the Intention to adopt IaaSBEL from the perspective of the ICT directorates top managers. PLS-SEM was used to analyse the data generated from the questionnaire, while interview data were analysed using a thematic approach. The statistical results demonstrated that Relative Advantage, Cost Savings, Service Provider Support, and Government Support were significantly supported while Compatibility, Trust, Security, Top Management Support, and Competitive Pressure were not supported. The moderating variable (Government Support) statistical results show that Relative Advantage was positively supported while Cost Savings and Trust were negatively supported. The findings of this study further demonstrated the significance of the adopted variables as capable of influencing the perception of ICT directorates’ top managers' Intention to adopt the IaaSBEL model based on the TOE and DOI theories, with the addition of other external variables. However, the study observed some limitations with regards to the ICT infrastructure and policies in attaining education for all in Nigeria despite gender, financial, and location constraints. The study further contributes to the theory and practice of IS as well as recommendations to policy makers and cloud vendors. Also, effective e-learning would be available to staff and students towards reducing the budgetary constraints, hence, impacting the society
Kemahiran insaniah dan hubungan dengan pencapaian pelajar dalam mata pelajaran perakaunan di matrikulasi
Matriculation Program graduates are the largest group who will continue their studies at public universities. The issue of concern is that the accounting curriculum in matriculation is oriented towards practical skills and less prominent in terms of the application of soft skills. This study aims to assess the level of application of soft skills through practical skills involving accounting assignments among students in matriculation. A mixed method approach through sequential explanatory design is used, where 300 students in first-semester of the three Northern Zone Matriculation Colleges comprising of 92 (31%) male students and 208 (69%) female students were the study sample. Three Subject Matter Expert and three Accounting paper examiners were interviewed to explore the lecturers' perceptions of soft skills. Three types of instruments were used in this study, namely accounting assignments, soft skills application evaluation forms and interview questions. The findings of the study show that the overall GPA (Grade Point Average) for soft skills reaches credit level. Accounting students achieve GPA level honours in critical thinking and problem solving, and information management skills and lifelong learning while values, attitudes and professionalism achieve pass level. There are gender differences, where female students achieve higher scores than male students in critical thinking and problem solving skills while male students achieve high scores by mastering practical skills, values, attitudes and professionalism, information management skills and lifelong learning as well as management skills and entrepreneurship. There is no difference between gender in social responsibility and communication skills, leadership and teamwork. Accounting students dominate critical thinking and problem-solving skills, information management skills and lifelong learning as well as management and entrepreneurial skills through assignments in line with interview findings. The implication of this study is that the Matriculation Division needs to include the domain of entrepreneurial skills in the assessment mapping of accounting courses to produce competent students
The relationships among innovation strategy, atmosphere, culture, innovativeness and organizational performance in hotel industry of Thailand
The main objective of this study is to examine the mediating role of innovativeness in the relationship among innovation strategy, organisational atmosphere, organisational culture, and hotel performance in Thailand. The study employed a quantitative method. The population of this study consisted of three to five-star
hotels in Thailand. Questionnaires were personally administrated to 381 respondents. One hundred and eighty-eight responses were returned from top-level hotel managers, yielding a response rate of 49%. This study adopted the SmartPLS v3.0 and the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) to test the
research hypotheses. The findings found that innovation strategy did not show a direct effect on hotel performance as expected. On the contrary, organisational atmosphere, organisational culture, and innovativeness have a positive effect on hotel performance. The theoretical implication of the study shows that innovativeness has
a significant mediating role on the path between organisational atmosphere and organisational culture on hotel performance. The result provides support for the Resource-Based View and Dynamic Capability Theory. The study suggests that hotel owners/managers should support innovation strategies to improve hotel performance.
Furthermore, an appropriate organisational atmosphere and organisational culture to enhance organisational innovativeness and hotel performance should be developed. Finally, Thailand policymakers should design policies to support the development of
hotels by offering training programs to enhance organisational innovativeness capability
The effectiveness of entrepreneurship program in Malaysia public universities
Entrepreneurship in Malaysia has been growing as a direct consequence of some of the organization's initiatives to offer students the opportunity to participate in all aspects of entrepreneurship. Through these issues, entrepreneurship is seen as an essential phase for the upcoming generations with the knowledge and business management. However, the biggest problem challenging our country is the somedegree holders ' unemployment crisis. The built-in questionnaire collects quantitative data through frequency, consistency check, comparison, and interview in this analysis. The results of this research have shown that business plans, risk thinking, self-efficacy, need for achievement, and locus control has impacted the effectiveness of education for entrepreneurship in public universities. In contrast,
industrial training doesn't have an impact on entrepreneurial education. The result is crucial to improve policies in strengthening the delivery of education in entrepreneurship
