The Mappanretasi tradition is a form of local wisdom of the Bugis people in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan, which has spiritual, social, and economic meanings. This research aims to inventory the cultural elements of Mappanretasi, analyze its impact on the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector, and identify challenges in preserving this tradition. This study uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies, involving indigenous leaders, local communities, and local governments. The results of the study show that Mappanretasi reflects the relationship between humans and nature through symbols such as ritual boats and offerings of marine products, which symbolize gratitude and community solidarity. This tradition also has a significant economic impact, especially for MSMEs in the culinary, handicrafts, and service sectors, with a surge in demand for local products during its implementation. However, the preservation of this tradition faces challenges such as declining interest among younger generations, lack of formal documentation, and modernization pressures that have the potential to diminish the spiritual essence of the tradition. This research suggests formal documentation of traditions through digitalization, integration of cultural values into formal education, and collaboration between governments, communities, and the private sector to address these challenges. With a strategic and holistic approach, the Mappanretasi tradition can continue to be an integral part of local cultural identity while supporting sustainable economic developmen

Fuzzy Preference Relations-Based AHP for Multi-Criteria Supplier Segmentation

    Get PDF
Supplier segmentation is a strategic activity for businesses. It involves dividing suppliers into distinct categories and managing them differently. Various supplier typologies based on different dimensions and factors are available in the existing literature. By highlighting two main characteristics the skills and the desire of suppliers to work with a specific company this article integrates many typologies. Almost all of the supplier segmentation criteria stated in the literature are covered by these dimensions. These dimensions can be defined utilizing a multi-criteria decision-making process for each specific case. To account for the inherent ambiguities and uncertainties in human judgment, a fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is suggested as part of the technique. This approach makes use of fuzzy preference relations. A broiler firm uses the suggested process to divide up its suppliers. A categorization of vendors according to two aggregated criteria is the end outcome. Lastly, we offer some suggestions for future research, draw some conclusions, and talk about some techniques to address distinct sector

Evaluation of VGG16 Performance in Multi-Input and Multi-Class Classification of Toraja Buffalo Breeds

    No full text
Traditional image classification research has focused on single-input and multiclass approaches. However, these approaches often fail to capture the complexity and diversity of real-world image data. To address the complexity and more diverse variation in data, as well as to improve the classification accuracy of various categories, a multi-input image approach is utilized. With a multi-input multi-class approach, a Transfer Learning model based on VGG16 is trained to identify objects from various perspectives and classify them into one of many predefined classes. The VGG16 architecture in the multi-input and multi-class classification of Toraja Buffalo breeds demonstrates excellent results with an average accuracy of 93.33%. The "Kerbau Lotong Boko" and "Kerbau Bonga Ulu" classes achieved 100% accuracy, while other classes showed high precision, recall, and F1 scores. Despite fluctuations in accuracy and loss during training, the model successfully achieved good convergence and generalization. This research is significant in the field of image classification by introducing a multi-input method capable of capturing richer and more diverse information from complex objects such as Toraja buffalo. It demonstrates that CNN architectures like VGG16 can be adapted to handle more complex classification tasks using a multi-input approach
