Navigating Teaching Practicum in the Real Classroom: Insights from ESL Teaching Practicum Experiences
Teaching practicum is one of the compulsory courses that pre-service ESL teachers have to accomplish prior to the completion of their study. Under the lens of experiential learning theory, this study aims to find out pre-service English teachers’ challenges of teaching practicum and how they overcome them. Interviews were used as instruments in this multiple case study, focusing on three pre-service English teachers who participated in the AJARMI program during the 2022–2023 academic year. The findings of this study were analyzed using thematic analysis. The PSETs faced challenges related to students' behaviour, preparation of instructional materials, and mentoring. They handled them with organizing lessons, acting as an assertive teacher, devising a backup plan, and adapting to the school system. The implications of this study suggest that teacher education programs should provide more comprehensive training on classroom management, instructional material preparation, and effective mentoring strategies to better prepare pre-service teachers for the realities of the classroom
Rancang Bangun Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Hybrid PLTS dan Genset Sebagai Suplai Beban Untuk Daerah Terpencil
Salah satu kebijakan strategis yang ditetapkan PT.PLN (Persero) adalah meningkatkan rasio elektrifikasi (RE) pada tahun 2015 hingga 2019, yaitu dengan meningkatkan desa-desa berlistrik. Sistem distribusi listrik yang ada saat ini, sekitar 1000 desa belum dapat menikmati layanan listrik, sebagian besar desa tersebut merupakan desa terpencil yang sulit dijangkau. Penyediaan energi listrik untuk desa-desa tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan memasang jaringan listrik dari grid ke desa atau mengembangkan pembangkit listrik alternatif dengan memanfaatkan sumber energi yang bersih dan ramah lingkungan yaitu energi baru dan terbarukan. Sasaran khusus penelitian terapan ini adalah memperoleh model hasil perancangan sistem hybrid PLTS-Genset untuk diaplikasikan pada penerangan rumah di daerah terpencil. Untuk merancang, menganalisa dan mengoptimalkan potensi pembangkit listrik hybrid PLTS-Genset pada penyediaan beban rumah untuk daerah terpencil, diawali dengan survey lapangan, kemudian dilakukan uji coba perancangan alat sehingga pasokan energi listrik kepada penduduk dapat terpenuhi. dapat terpenuhi secara terus menerus. Sistem penggabungan dua pembangkit listrik atau biasa disebut hybrid ini diharapkan dapat mengatasi permasalahan rasio elektrifikasi di daerah terpencil serta dapat meminimalkan biaya listrik dan efisiensi daya listrik yang digunakan
Development of a Closed-Loop Controller for an Arduino-Based DC Chopper using Proteus and LabVIEW
This research focuses on developing a DC-DC converter voltage regulation system using an Arduino microcontroller, addressing the instability inherent in renewable energy sources like solar panels and wind turbines. Utilizing Proteus and LabVIEW, the study employs a quantitative deductive approach to experimentally simulate and model the system over four months at the Control and Automation Laboratory of Politeknik ATI Makassar. Key challenges of conventional converters, including limited PWM flexibility, output stability, and ripple reduction, are addressed through a closed-loop control system with voltage feedback. The methodology involves extensive parameter calculations derived from literature review and expected testing scenarios to ensure precise component selection and system performance. Specific calculations guide the determination of minimum component values, facilitating the desired input and output voltage levels with minimal ripple. Simulation testing validates the system's effectiveness, demonstrating successful integration between LabVIEW and Proteus through additional library utilization. The resulting DC-DC converter voltage regulation system enables more robust control through Arduino microcontroller, enhancing stability and efficiency in renewable energy applications
Analisis Intensi Penggunaan Teknologi Cloud Accounting pada UMKM Kota Tasikmalaya
Perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat, terutama pasca pandemi covid 19 menuntut semua pihak untuk menyesuaikan perkembangan tersebut dengan baik, tak terkecuali para pelaku UMKM. Adanya berbagai teknologi untuk pelaku UMKM dapat memberikan kemudahan dalam berusaha. Salah satunya adalah teknologi Cloud Accounting, yaitu sebuah teknologi melalui aplikasi penyimpanan dan pencatatan data keuangan di awan yang dapat diakses dimana saja dan kapan saja dengan menggunakan internet serta adanya pencadangan jika terjadi kehilangan data. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis factor apa saja yang memengaruhi minat pelaku UMKM khususnya di Kota Tasikmalaya dalam menggunakan teknologi Cloud Accounting tersebut. Adapun variable yang dianalisis adalah menggunakan konstruk dari metode pendekatan Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) yaitu ekspektasi kinerja, ekspektasi usaha, pengaruh social dan kondisi pemfasilitasi. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh UMKM di Kota Tasikmalaya yang berjumlah 123.010, adapun sampel diambil dengan metode Simple Random Sampling dan dihitung dengan rumus Slovin yang didapat jumlah sampel sebanyak 100 responden. Data dianalisis dengan analisis statistik dan pengujian data dilakukan melalui uji regresi berganda menggunakan aplikasi pengolah data SPSS 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekspektasi kinerja, ekspektasi usaha, pengaruh social dan kondisi pemfasilitasi berpengaruh positif terhadap minat penggunaan teknologi cloud accounting pada UMKM Kota Tasikmalaya
GENETIC ALGORITHM-BASED OPTIMIZATION OF DISTRIBUTED GENERATOR PLACEMENT IN DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS TO MINIMIZE POWER LOSSES
An increase in electrical energy can lead to an increase in power losses and a decrease in voltage in the system. One of the efforts made to reduce power losses that occur in the distribution network is by placing the optimal Distributed Generation (DG) in the right location. Installation of DGs with suboptimal capacity and placement location can result in greater active power losses and further reduce voltage stability. This study discusses the optimization of DG placement in the electric power distribution network using genetic algorithm methods that are known to be effective in solving complex optimization problems. The IEEE 33 bus distribution system, which is a standard system frequently employed in power flow research, was the subject of the case study. The Newton-Raphson method is a commonly used iterative method for power flow analysis due to its accuracy in calculating power flow in electrical networks. The research findings indicate that the most suitable location for two DG units with an injection power of 6,626 MW is on buses 3 and 4. The placement of this DG has the potential to substantially mitigate power losses within the distribution network. The placement of two DG units on buses 3 and 4 results in a more significant improvement in system power losses than the placement of DG units on other buses. Power losses of buses 3 and 4 experienced power losses of 67724.69 MW, while system losses were reduced by 1137621.21 MW, or 5.61 percent
Pengaruh Kemudahan dan Keamanan Transaksi Penggunaan Mobile Banking terhadap Keputusan Pembelian Online
This research is aimed to investigate the influence of transaction ease and security in mobile banking on online purchasing decisions. The population of the research was 6,447 students the state polytecnic of ujung pandang. The Sampling technique used is probability sampling with the Stratified random sampling. The sample of this research was 98 students. The data collection method used interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis used instrument validation, descriptive statistics, and inferential statistics by using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) software version 25 for windows. The results of this research showed that 1) the perception of customer the ease of used mobile banking was very easy, 2) the perception of customer the security of transactions used mobile banking was very safe, 3) the perceptions of customer online purchasing decisions used mobile banking was very good, 4) ease of use has significant effect on online purchasing decisions used mobile banking, 5) transaction security has significant effect on online purchasing decisions used mobile banking, 6) ease and security of transactions has significant effect on online purchasing decisions used mobile banking
Studi Kekuatan Tekan Beton SCC (Self Compacting Concrete) Dengan Penambahan Fly Ash Menggunakan Perendaman Asam Sulfat
Beton SCC ialah satu dari beberpa jenis beton yang penggunaannya sudah tidak asing lagi dalam dunia konstruksi, pada penelitian kali ini penulis ingin mengembangkan mengenai beton SCC tersebut. Penelitian dengan judul studi kekuatan tekan beton SCC (Self Compacting Concrete) dengan penambahan fly ash menggunakan perendaman asam sulfat ini mengambil titik berat menganai bagaimana kekuatan beton SCC yang diberikan bahan tambahan fly ash dan direndam menggunakan asam sulfat bukan dengan air baku PDAM biasa seperti yang sering dilakukan. Diharapkan kedepannya penulis dapat melakukan lebih banyak penelitian yang terkait dengan material beton ini seperti efek yang ditimbulkan bahan-bahan tertentu terhadap kekuatan beton, cara meminimalisisr kekurangan beton, pemanfaatan limbah untuk pembuatan beton tanpa mengurangi kekuatan beton itu sendiri, dan penelitian serupa yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan-bahan yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam dunia konstruksi. Pada penelitian kali ini berdasarkan uji kuat tekan beton yang telah dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa benda uji beton SCC dengan Fly Ash yang direndam menggunakan air PDAM dan yang direndam menggunakan asam sulfat terdapat penurunan mutu beton yaitu sebesar 40,317 % pada benda uji beton yang direndam menggunakan asam sulfat
Usage of Safety Helmet Warning System Using Deep Learning Method
K3 Helmet Usage Warning System Using Deep Method Learning Algorithm YOLOv8 is a technological innovation that combines the advanced object detection method YOLOv8 (You Only Look Once version 8) with the needs of safety in the work environment, especially the use of K3 (Occupational Health and Safety) helmets. This research aims to improve compliance with the use of K3 helmets through an automation approach using Deep Learning technology.The YOLOv8 algorithm is used to detect whether individuals in the work area are wearing K3 helmets or not.
The detection results will be processed by the system to provide automatic warnings if individuals do not wearing an OHS helmet according to safety regulations. The use of Deep Learning technology in this method enables fast and accurate detection, contributing to increased awareness and compliance with workplace safety policies.With proper implementation, the system is expected to help create a safer work environment and improve the safety of workers, making the workplace more compliant with established OHS standards
Purification of Used Engine Oil by Pyrolysis– Adsorption Method Assisted Coal Activated Carbon
The increase in the use of engine vehicles every year is directly proportional to the amount of engine oil waste produced. Used engine oil is a class of hazardous waste that is harmful to the environment. This study aims to purify the base fuel from pyrolysis of waste engine oil by comparing integrated and non-integrated pyrolysis adsorption purification methods using activated low-rank coal as an adsorbent medium. The method used in this study is Pyrolysis using activated carbon from low-rank coal that has been carbonized with a temperature of 600 ° C and activated using H3PO4-NaHCO3. Pyrolysis is carried out by adding activated carbon with a ratio of 10% (w / w) of 11 grams from the volume of base fuel samples and Pyrolysis temperature of 350°C, then carried out by a variety of methods, namely the adsorption method followed by Pyrolysis, Pyrolysis followed by adsorption, and Pyrolysis adsorption integration. From this study, the optimum value of purification was obtained in the variation of integration adsorption pyrolysis with a density of 0.7631gr / ml and a specific gravity value of 0.7639 and an API degree of 53.7318, while for viscosity value of 0.5542 cP.
