An Economic Multipoint Gravitational Model Expression Of A Transactional Analysis Game: An Application To Recreational Private Land Use Decisions
The outcome of interactions between various economic actors has a decided subconscious component. Transactional analysis (TA), which was developed in the late 1950s, provides a cognitive theory about the way that human beings interact with each other on a subconscious level that can be applied to investigation of economic decision making. TA, founded by physician Eric Berne, explains a number of potential human interactions, or social transactions, by framing them as subconscious games. Individual economic actors in markets interact with each other. Those interactions may be influenced at least somewhat by subconscious cognitive processes and TA games. Additionally, because individuals gain experience through each interaction, there may reasonably be expected to exist an historical component in which the subconscious response of economic actors to others in the market and to the subconscious games of others in the market may change over time based on their experiences in prior games. As an extension, an individual’s subconscious response to other economic actors may in part be based on the influence of information, either conveyed through games or via other sources. This study investigates decision strategy in the context of marketplace interaction in which outcomes are influenced by subconscious social transaction games played between individuals. The decision by land owners of whether or not to open private land to outside parties for recreational use is considered as an example. Because interaction necessarily involves some form of influence, the interaction and decision strategy are modeled mathematically by an economic multipoint gravitational model in which each actor both influences all other actors and is influenced by them.
Application Of Path-Goal Leadership Theory And Learning Theory In A Learning Organization
This paper used learning theory and path-goal theory to propose a learning leadership model. The practical side of these two theories is suitable for this proposed model, its agenda, and its tools for improving organizational learning. The model is based on the assumption that leaders need to develop their competences and the competences of subordinates by creating a continuous learning process through sharing, exchanging, and improving knowledge and experiences. The model states that learning leaders act as facilitators of the organizational learning process and adopt the right attitude to motivate subordinates for learning by removing obstacles and creating a learning culture.
Don’t Let Fear Guide Your Path
Founder of BRICKK, a fitness lounge, Kathy Pavlik was determined to create a friendly, healthy, non-intimidating atmosphere where clients would feel welcome. Pavlik believes ‘fear’ causes many people to begin then quit working out. Inspired by her own experiences, Pavlik created a new concept in the health club business in Alma, Michigan. Now that BRICKK is a reality, the next steps need to be determined in the effort to make the fitness lounge a financial success. Pavlik is considering a number of marketing strategies in order to build up attendance in the classes. She’s also considering marketing ideas on how to increase business with her lunches/smoothie bar and possible lunch delivery within the county.
The Design Of Preservice Primary Teacher Education Science Subjects: The Emergence Of An Interactive Educational Design Model
Over the past 20 years there have been numerous calls in Australia and beyond for extensive educational reforms to preservice teacher education in the sciences. Recommendations for science teacher education programs to integrate curriculum, instruction and assessment are at the forefront of such reforms. In this paper, we describe our scholarly action–research approach to the teaching of science and science–method subjects to Australian preservice primary-school teachers in the state of New South Wales. We present an interactive educational design model founded on a solid theoretical literature base that incorporates Pedagogical Content Knowledge as an integrative mediating framework and which drives students’ interactions with the elements of the design model. The results from our mixed-methods study suggest that the approaches adopted through two extended vignettes show significant increases in preservice teachers’ competence and confidence. Together, the qualitative and extensive quantitative data suggest participants obtain a newly developed sense of enthusiasm for science and an understanding of the role that it can play in the primary- school curriculum. The data provide strong evidence that the approaches being called for in some of the earlier reforms and most recently by Bybee (2014) are effective
A Comparative Study Of Smartphone Addiction Drivers’ Effect On Work Performance In The U.S. And Korea
Smartphone addiction is a new phenomenon when a smartphone becomes a necessity in our daily life. This study explores smartphone addiction drivers and their results. Four factors such as ease of use, emotional lift, preference of social interaction, and flow, are used for drivers and neglect of work is used as a proxy of addiction result. In the result of structured equation modeling analysis, preference of social interaction is not related with smartphone usage behaviors such as usage frequency and usage hours. In the analysis of U.S. users, emotional lift is a driver and in the analysis of Korean users, ease of use and flow are drivers for smartphone addiction. There is a significant relationship between smartphone use and neglect of work in both countries. Even if there is a trend of converging user behavior because of globalization, drivers for smartphone addiction are different in the U.S. and Korea
Testing The FDI Hypothesis Of Location Advantage In The Case Of Kuwait
This study examines the determining factors of FDI inflows in Kuwait. Data sample covers the period from 1975 to 2013. In this study, estimates are tested using Augmented Dickey and Fuller, Johansen Co-integration tests and Error Correction Model (ECM). Results of the Johansen test show that all variables are co-integrated with the Kuwait’s FDI inflows in the long run. Interestingly, factors of market size, economic development, financial deepening, number of population, infrastructure development, openness, and oil rent have long run relationship with the FDI inflows in Kuwait. In the short run, findings also show that the short-run models are in equilibrium
In With The Old, Out With The New: Green Marketing And The Used Merchandise Sector
This study explores the emergence of the used merchandise sector and its implications for green marketing. We demonstrate that although few consumers purchase green products based on environmental concerns, consumers who shop for used merchandise do so with these issues in mind. Examining consumer blogs, we uncover the relationship between the environmental movement and the growth of the used merchandise sector. Green marketing has failed to account for this shift, because it focuses on the consumption of green products rather than consumption reduction facilitated by the used merchandise sector and re-use market. To make a difference, green marketing must change emphasis from consumption to consumption reduction
The Different Changes Of Value Relevance Of Earnings Between SOEs And NSOEs After Adoption Of IFRS: Evidence From China
This article studies changes of value relevance of earnings after mandatory adoption of new CAS (the Chinese Accounting Standards) which is substantially convergent with IFRS (the International Financial Report Standards) in China’s listed enterprises. We extend the previous research by examining the different impact on value relevance of earnings between SOEs (the State-Owned Enterprises) and NSOEs (the Non-State-Owned Enterprises) after adoption of new CAS, which is based on the samples consisting of 836 companies listed on A-shares market of China. The empirical results show that the value-relevance of accounting earnings significantly increased after 2007, and represent that value relevance of earnings increased significantly in SOEs while there are no significant changes in NSOEs after adoption of the new CAS. Our research has implications for China’s Accounting Standard setters who desire to reach expected consequences of convergence with IFRS, and provide empirical evidence for adoption of IFRS in different countries which have both SOEs and NSOEs
Market Feedback And Managers’ Decisions In Private Placement – Evidence From Chinese Family Firms
What effect does market feedback have on managers’ decisions on private placement in family firms? Based on information asymmetry, agency theory, and corporate governance theory, we investigate the relationship between managers’ final decisions and market feedback to the announcement. We find that managers in family firms accept market feedback in decision-making and their attitude can be affected by many external factors. Managers tend to listen to the market when family firms are non-high-tech, when family members participate in purchasing the placed shares, when family members serve as managers, and when separation of control rights from ownership is small
Board Competencies, Network Ties And Risk Management Disclosure Practices In Non-Profit Organizations
In the current challenging economic environment, non-profit organizations (NPOs) are exposed to an array of risks and some of these risks are unique due to the characteristics of the organizations. Understanding and managing these risks are crucial in ensuring sustainability of the NPOs and the responsibility lies with the board. However, risks management and disclosure of risks in NPOs is less well developed relative to for profit organizations and this may affect boards’ role in enhancing risk management practices of these organizations. As such, this study aims to examine the relationships between certain board characteristics: board competencies, network ties and risk management disclosure practices in NPOs. Information on these variables are obtained from content analysis of annual reports and Financial Information Forms of 219 NPOs registered with Companies Commission of Malaysia for the financial period 2011. Results of this study reveal that the overall extent of risk management disclosure practices is at a moderate level. In addition, only board competencies are significantly positively related to the extent of risk management disclosure practices while network ties are not. This infers that some board members acknowledge the importance of being engaged in risk management decision. However, lack of specific guide on risk management in NPOs may reduce the motivation of some board members to do so. The guidelines and relevant trainings to board members provided by relevant authorities may increase the understanding of key risks and management of these risks as part of good governance in NPOs
